So I just started watching To Aru Majutsu no Index, and after seeing Index use "St George's Church" I'm under the impression that the show would make a kickass doujin fighter.
Any thoughts?
What other animes would make a great game (meaning not something that went from VN to Anime, ie Shuffle)?

there's a bunch of reborn games actually. the most recent ones are on the PSP though, tag battle style. i haven't played any of them, but they don't look too great.

strike witches actually has a few games out. the most recent one was a japan-only danmaku for 360. there's a new one coming out in oct for DS that i think is a sidescrolling shooter, but don't quote me on that.

Strike Witches doujin parody on Senko no Ronde. It'd be so delicious and godlike.
Negima would be a legit jRPG (they already use mad RPG references as it is) if they worked off of the manga rather than the anime (due to more content). They have a story laid out already that starts out as small time kid following in his heroic dad's footsteps and eventually leading up to epic saving the world type shit. They have a huge and diverse cast of characters from multiple classes. It's already perfect.
Deadman Wonderland (didn't they make that an anime yet?) would be an easy candidate for 2d fighter. I mean, it practically is one already, the way they're forced to do arena style 1v1 battles and how they each have unique special blood techniques (shots/blades/bombs/whips/armor/etc).
Also, show me a fucking Elfen Lied brawler. Shit would be so badass to just tear up bitches as Lucy. Taking from the entire story (aka: the manga) would be a must though, or else you'd lose out on awesome shit like that dude who shoots morning stars, the diclonius factory, or the giant head thing.
Also also, it came from VN (and I've probably mentioned it before), but I think Fate/Stay Night's concept (grail wars, summon legendary heroes to win, etc) would be good as a DotA or Bloodline Champions type game, but 7p free for all rather than team based.

actually there's an hori STG for 360 called Strike Witches: Shirogane no Tsubasa, and according to EOJ (Admin of the Cave-STG forum) it's pretty enjoyable, so it must be a pretty fun game

In general they suffer from the "Movie-game Syndrome" (Henceforth refered to as MGS :psyduck:) in which the developer ignores gameplay while attempting to pander to the fans of the series as much as possible.

Thanks. I was actually thinking more like...old school final fight type brawler or something. Well, maybe with some new cool mechanics added in to make it interesting and fun, but not stray too much from the classic brawler genre. 2d fighter would be legit though. There's enough characters to make shit interesting.

I don't really think so, the character's abilities seem to overlap too much. IE: all wind users use the same windblade style from what I remember.

purple bullets do not a danmaku make. The patterns are not really dense or complex enough to merit the term, and the style of play is way off from traditional manic shooters... I think the developers would've been better off if they went with a more traditional approach (if they did I would've snatched that shit up real quick) but c'est la vie...

Yup. Obeisance could act as a concept of a COST in a card game.
Combine that with the trippy ass ways each character could use their abilities, the character hierarchy (contracter, human, doll) and the sick weaponry that some contracters/dolls have (Hei's whip/blade is an example) and you could make a structurally stable card game.
