LOL! I love the last video! That rap thing was pretty funny as well!

o_O Okay, so we have the lowest piracy percentage at 22%, but the most money lost, at 6.5 billion.
:prinny:?!?!

nice topic- so how many of you guys actually bought MBAC PC?

I bought it a couple days after Arly put up the affiliate link to play-asia. If you're gonna buy it, might as well let some of that money go into meltybread, you know?
-

Yeah, I did, through Play-Asia.
Want a photo of my game box?

from this response Im guessing your 'friend' lives in a third world country and goes by the name 8b3rPir473

And then you find out AA comes out on PC five years from now.
I preordered the limited edition MBAC long before Arly put up the affiliate link... Sorry Arly/Melty Bread. =/
The one thing that's good about arcade games is that you can't pirate it, if it's on the right system.
I used to pirate non-stop, but now I take pride in supporting my favorite companies; I have all of the Melty Bloods, MHP2, MHP2G, and Senko no Ronde on display next to my computer. Although, it does seem hypocritical since I have to get my consoles mod-chipped, but it's only so I can play games region-free.

Now that you mention it, what's the point of region locks? Sony appeared to have disposed of it for the PS3.

As well as PSP, for which I laud them. Now if they'd show a little more support for homebrew(as opposed to their current semi-jihad), I'd actually think their heart was in it.

Im all for pirating. If people want to make money try making actually good products. Paying for a shitty product makes them think they can make trash and people will stupidly buy it ... like windows for example. Granted in the same sence pirating makes companies not want to make a good product because it may be pirated however its a known fact that if something is really good people will mostlikely buy it instead of pirating it, look at Sins of a Solar Empire.

I agree me and my friend (whom you all know but will remain unnamed unless he wants to reveal his identity)
will pirate a game to see if it is good if it isn't it gets deleted and if it is it also gets deleted but will then get purchased.

Not surpised its a popular habit among my friends too dont' really have to much of a problem of it, it only annoys me when ppl just pirate and don't ever buy it, I buy games cause I want them to make more.
Like why the hell didn't ppl get pshconaughts or advent rising, 2 amazing games that flopped for no stinking reason.

or advent rising
cuz Tommy Tallerico acts like a douche.

they were fun games that everyone who played them loved. I can also point out deus ex machina as another why did this fail game.

I'm pretty sure that the failure of those games had nothing to do with piracy.

uhhhhhhhhh......
Crysis?
-
No one can run Crysis, that's why it's not selling.
-
Taking a slight tangent here:
Now that you mention it, what's the point of region locks? Sony appeared to have disposed of it for the PS3.
It's so deceptively simple, it's sometimes easy to overlook. To put it simply, companies don't want importing to cut into the domestic market for their games. Whether they fully intend to release the game in that region or not, they want to be able to control their market and especially its revenue. And honestly, they have every right to do it.
-
No one can run Crysis, that's why it's not selling.
No one can run it at 60fps with Max settings.
any half-decent gaming rig can run it 50-60fps in Med or High.

I was replying to the comment about sins of a solar empire was so awesome that ppl bought it, by the way I have SoaSE, yeah its bassically a watered down Real time version of the greatest TBS ever Masters of Orion III, plus the AI's sucked way to hard, but it is fun to play with friends. The Jesus beam was the best super weapon in the game with 1-2 strikes it completey destoryed an oppenents economy until the cannon could recharge, my friends hated it and it became a race to see who could not die and get the jesus beam first.

I know my roommate has one, I didn't think they had any good games but he showed me all these cool games I went to the best 50 games for dreamcast and my cousin who also had a dreamcast didn't have 1 despite owning over 30 games. I love the dreamcast.

And what does Crysis have to do with Psychonauts and Advent Rising?
the failure of Crysis is highly attributed to its piracy.
--
don't get me started on MOO3. I was one of those who bought the game on release day. I'm like 2 hours into the game, and i can't figure out anything, the manual was thick but was a very poor read. I couldn't even figure out how to get into combat. Lucky for me i realized how shitty it was and threw it on ebay as fast as i could trying to cut my losses.
i have MOO2 on my computer currently.

Psychonauts is such a great game, I was not aware it failed due to piracy.
-
Well, the game barely sold at all (barely over 100k), I didn't think it was due to piracy either, though.
-

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!
i was not making a comparison of Crysis to Psychonauts.
You made a statement about Psychonauts & Piracy, therefore it was a good jump-off point for me to link Crysis & Piracy in a similar manner.

whats so difficult about moo3, the only problem was finding out that you had to design your own units, or at least press the create class button, the rest was similar enough to every other TBS that it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Ohhh and by the way MOO3 was really glichy until the patch came out 2 months later thxfully I got it like a year after it came out.
Loving making custom units in MOO3 nothing says unorthodox like filling super dreadnaughts with only a shit ton of thrusters, and the rest all point defense weaponry and flying into point blank against the enemy.
-
MOO3 was terrible, especially compared to the awesomesauceness of MOO2.
You made a statement about Psychonauts & Piracy, therefore it was a good jump-off point for me to link Crysis & Piracy in a similar manner.
Alright then. Next time, however, you might want to actually make that clear in the first place.
