IaMP???

or

SWR???

I am looking to pick up and play one of the Touhou fighters...I have both with the latest patches. I heard that IaMP is the more 'broken' of the two with unbalanced characters, but the play style of IaMP seems to fit my liking a bit more than the range heavy SWR. I would much rather play the better of the two games, the one that I wont be abandoning any time soon. Additionally, IaMP seems a lot more simpler and a pick up and go type of game rather than SWR where you have your spell card decks...that I still don't really understand yet. Any suggestions? Nobody where I am at plays either and it is highly likely that I will be introducing ppl to these two games in the near future when I start getting better and understanding them.

IaMP is the better fighter.

SWR is the better Touhou game.

It's really a trade off between Game depth and touhou-ness.

IaMP is better all around.  Flight and weather make SWR ass.  The only problem is that IaMP's scene is pretty stagnant (even so, it still has more people who can understand and play at high level than SWR, lol).  The SWR scene is filled mostly with the faggiest of touhou fags who only play the game for its namesake.

Just play IaMP.

SWR is a terrible game. The fact that the game will randomly say "fuck you guys" and give both players superarmor and make you unable to block for like 10 seconds at a time is the absolute LEAST of its problems says a lot.

SWR seems to have a little more luck involved with the weather system and cards.
Sure there's the learning how to use the cards at the right time and whatnot, personally I believe the less luck-based, the better.
Play SWR if you're just in love with a character you can't find on IaMP or something

Don't forget to main Sakuya :V

I intend to main Sakuya with China as a sub. Top and bottom tier. I do love Aya though and its sad that she's not in IaMP, but so be it then (but her available combos in SWR aren't that great and I'd be playing her just because). I'll pick up IaMP and go then with the recommendation from you guys. Any word on how UNL is? It looks very similar to SWR, but with a playable ⑨

But at least with SWR, Bell has been nice enough to leave a 'how to play' guide  :toot:

They both fail as competitive fighters IMO, which is why i prefer SWR. Shits random as hell and can get pretty funny.  :toot:

If you have to pick between the two, IaMP for gameplay and SWR for lolz. I pick lolz since i already have several fighters i play competitively that actually have a local scene going on.

Course now the IaMP tourneyfags are prolly going to hunt me down and kill me for saying that.  :emo:
