If they didn't waste their money making this crap, protections, and those ads yelling at you how you are a thief, even though they appear in legit DVD's, maybe software could be a bit cheaper.

Just maybe.

They could also use it to make extras, something that you just CAN'T have without having bought the original. Artwork, telephone cards... Even if you copy a game, you still get those, while the only extra you usually get is a fuckton of bogus protections that can be easily bypassed unless you insist on running the game in a 'legal' way. Great incentive, and to think we paid for this.

I bet the places where you work all have bought copies of Windows for each computer in there.

Businesses can get corporate editions of windows, where you can install one copy on as many computers as you want.

They must be big enough to have a contract which allows them to do so. Besides, being able to bypass copyright laws by buying it would be like buying the right to drive as fast as you can.

Software is weird, Supposedly when you buy it you're buying a "licence to use it on one computer" which to me sounds like complete BS. What companies do is they buy a "licence to use on as many computers as they want" (aka the corperate edition).

Whatever happened to "Sharing" as was taught in preschool.
