Fighting Games like MB

Hey, I've been playing melty blood for a while now, and I was wondering if there are any 2d fighters with a system like melty blood? I really like the freeform combos and the jumping around in aerial battles. Most of the fighters I've played seem to have like set combos (especially tekken... I played it like three times and I couldn't stand it) and an entirely grounded game (ie you jump, you get punished like hell). Can you guys suggest any games that are similar in systems?

Hmm, in terms of 2D fighting games, Arcana Heart, Guilty Gear (lol) and Akatsuki Blitzkampf comes to mind.

Same thing with Arcana Heart. Thing is, the time goes by rather quickly. And... It's about doing one setup into another setup, into another until you win.
Arcana Heart 2 is different now. Although there are still unblockables, they're not as good/hardly realistic. The Arcana you choose now basically determines your oki options and your combo potential (among other things). I'd say 2 is a lot more like Melty Blood now. It has the right blend of offense and defense.

Probably because blocking is flawless in a game where blocking high/low wrong only takes away more guard meter and doesn't actually go through the block, and there's only 1 character with a throw in the whole game. Also cause one of the players was Reimu and she just runs away from everything while spamming projectiles.

I concur with Sima. What in the flying fuck are you talking about? Aside from the fact that it's not a guard meter and you will need every ounce of it you've got if you want to be in any way offensive and not lose momentum, if you actually try this so-called 'flawless blocking' against someone who knows what he's doing you will find yourself dead dead dead in a matter of seconds.

The main reason anyone would find it 'boring' is there's a lot more in the way of footsies and controlling space rather than directly running up and smacking them in the head for some hot in-your-face action. Which, if you're into the zoning, is seriously very good shit and is very hard to keep track of, but it's not at all flashy. So if you're not interested in that, then yeah, it's not for you. But it's extremely rewarding if you are.

Anyway, I gave my suggestion, and plenty of other ones given here are good, it's all a matter of what you're looking for and how much available competition is around. So let's cut with the ignorant crap about games that y'all don't understand, 'kay?

Or do you want launcher combo from all hits with airthrow ender... ?

I don't believe I just watched two minutes of shit being shot at each other.Then like every" once in a  blue sun", not moon.This doesn't get a moon, there would be a punch or kick, or actual cool move.EFZ is more like MB than this, and for all the shooting they do, might as well give Cable a gun that shoots spellcards.

yeah I like IaMP but I have to say IaMP is nothing like MB. If you want games like MB check out Guilty Gear (lol), Big Bang Beat, Queen of Hearts, and EFZ.

That might vary. The voices in GG aren't as good, for example, as VAkiha's, if you want fapping material.
