HELP ME decide on cosplay for AX.

I'm 5'4". 135 pounds.

You'd think as a short Asian guy, I could pull off lots of cosplay. This is not true. Most anime characters are super tall with blonde hair.. there are only a handful of short, black-haired guys.

I have no talent in sewing, but I'm willing to spend some bucks on cosplay. I'll probably buy off eBay. I'm also willing to buy a wig. 

Anyway, I'm taking all recommendations. I'm mostly interested in short characters - not gonna cosplay a Sephiroth-height character when every Aeris cosplayer is gonna be taller than me -.-  Here are my ideas so far:

Sena - Eyeshield 21
Van - Escaflowne
Sai - Naruto
Hitsugaya - Bleach
El Blaze - Virtua Fighter 5 (My body is the ULTIMATE... weapon.)
Hokutomaru - Mark of the Wolves
Shizumaru - Samurai Shodown
Shimon - Gurren Lagann

I'm not scrawny.  But I'm not super ripped.  HOWEVER, I have been working out from time to time, and I've been working out more often.  So I won't look bad in a cosplay with tight clothes, or shirtless/open shirt.  In fact, I'm gonna say I'd love to do a sexy cosplay.  I don't mind gettin' some attention from the honeys heh heh heh~

Or I can do a crossplay of Eileen.

More to the point, do you enter any of the gaming tournaments at AX? Because I'm probably going to end up helping run them again this year.

This is gonna be my first year at AX.  I used to live in SoCal, and I made plans to go every year.  But every year, my friends bailed on me.  I didn't start going to cons until I moved to AZ, where I attened Phoenix Comic Con, Phoenix Anime Fest and AniZona.

I'm probably gonna enter GNT4.  Although I hate the game and I've quit, I feel like all my years of playing it are going to waste if I don't a tournament that's right there at the con.  And the Florida-WillVolution GNT players will be there.  I'd love to meet TheWiLL and Mr. Brightside.

The tournaments are usually pretty fun, even though it's in a really, really small room. Last year was my first year. It's pretty damn fun. If I can't get the interest for even a small Melty Blood tournament, I'll probably play behind the TVs just to practice since I kinda need it.

If I'm not mistaken, lots of SoCal MB players go to AX.  I think I heard Zaido mention it!  So I'm sure there will be a small MB tournament of some sort.

Then I will cosplay Rick Astley.  I'm not White, but I can do that dance perfectly.  And I've got that song memorized.  I'm singin' it topless next time I'm over, you'll see.

I was on the AX console tournament staff last year too, there wasn't a tournament, me and a friend just played a little bit behind the tables and stuff. I'm going to see if I can't convince them to start a tourney this year, since I know everyone on the console tournament staff, ha ha.

Also, if there's a hotel tourney, I want in, yo.

Agreed, plus it wouldn't cost much if you hit SalArmy stores.  I'm sure you'd rather spend your money on other things while out here.

Chris and I have considered doing Lelouch and Suzaku.  The Britannia school uniform's on eBay, and I think it was about 60-90 bucks or something.  We'll see what happens.

You'll probally have to practice how to do those cheesy winning pose quotes though. Being such a lousy voice actor can almost be said to be an art
