I know you guys like maids. How about webcomics?

My friend Jamie does this comic. She's pretty good, has printed copies for sale, goes to cons etc, but she's never made anything off of these endeavors, really, so she needs more exposure. Thought I'd link her stuff here.

Her stories both have Fire Emblem-ish settings, you could say, and the characters of the other comic (Emerald Winter) even somewhat resemble FE or Lunar characters to some readers. The maid story, Lavender Legend, is a less serious story, involves cross-dressing, revolves around a princess in a country where all the men are at war.

The other one, that's been going on longer actually, is a bit more on the elves, magic and dragons side of things. I'll link that too.

She does a lot of Valkyrie Profile, Xenosaga, Wild Arms and Final Fantasy fanart, so you'll see some of that around as well. She does commissions. The "item shop" is her store, lol. A gallery of a few of her arts:

Criticism is very welcome also, actually. Most of the comments we get are more just "it's good" or "it sucks" with no real tips for improvement. So, any input would be great.

LOL

Also, I like reading through this. It has some funny stuff, yet I am completely unrelated to the Fire Emblem universe (or what this is). But it has potential. The drawing style is sometimes weird (the girl maid looks like a man) and reminds me of some american comics. But there's something that interests me.

lol. I'm sure you've figured out the maid thing by now. I did mention cross-dressing in the first post! It's somewhat of a Bridget situation, though he does drop the costume.

Alfonse: She was asking about fanart requests recently, I think having her draw some FE would be a good idea. She's played 7 and after. I really think the extent of the FE reference is just how Rien looks similar to Eliwood, the art style in a small way and the setting. It's not an intentional spin off of anything, and neither is the other comic. Yeah, you can get fast recognition doing things like that, fan shit and porn makes the money, but making it with something you created is just that much more satisfying.

Chibi: Thanks man! Hoping she will be discovered and published like that one of these days.

Light: Yeah, EW has been around since about 2003, but it has since been taken down and redone. She felt like the story was too weak and relied on shiny things, so it started over. Jamie has been studying writing a lot lately, there's a good bit of genuine effort to make something free really good here lol. Thanks for the comments, I'll pass everything on.

Sorry about the bump guys, I'm satisfied with the spamming I did lol, but I just wanted to show this.

She spent about 12 hours on this cathedral for the most recent page, it's pretty amazing:

Yo, not to be a dick about it, but her perspective is off.  In a one point perspective (like what she has going in this picture), everything should be lined up to the same vanishing point (hence why it's called one point perspective).  The pillars, the pews, and the second row balcony each have a different vanishing point, which throws off the whole image.  She should try picking up a book on drawing different various perspectives, since it helps out a lot in instances like this or like drawing a wide angle on a building corner using 2 point perspective.  It's pretty essential for structural environmental work.

LS: I'll pass that on. I think she's pretty sure in how it was executed (supposed to be three point perspective I think) and she does study these things. I'm not saying you/her are off, as I don't know wtf about any of it.

Alright, good to hear.  I could be mistaken, since I didn't exactly grab a ruler to hold up to the monitor or whatever, but I can tell there is some variance in the vanishing point.

And just for your reference, any image where you're looking at one flat plane of a box (ie: looking at one wall of a room while standing in it), that's one point perspective.  Two point requires you to be looking at the corner of something, like the corner of two perpendicular hallways or the corner of a building, so that you have a left and right vanishing point.  Three point perspective is basically the same as two point, except it requires an up or down vanishing point, as if you were at a corner of a skyscraper and looking up at the top of it.

I could supply images and further descriptions and whatnot, but I imagine you don't really care too much for learning it all in detail.  lol.  Anyway, I can definitely assure you that the cathedral image is a one point perspective viewpoint.  The detail is nice, but the variance in the vanishing point throws it off as a whole.
