So... BigBang Beat.
« on: January 04, 2008, 05:27:21 AM »
Some of you know. I just want to ask if there are more guys interested in this game, it's a good alternative to MBAC, though in my opinion it can't beat MB if it comes to gameplay. I know there are freaky guys who spend their time with trying out combos and stuff and this is a thread for showing those. Or discussing combos.

It would be nice to find a norm for combo definitions. Some people say L, M, H instead of A,B,C and such stuff. I would prefer the ABC thing. Also, D is the Cancel Button.

Okay.
My primary char in BBB is Ren. He has a kendo and throws coke and he is able to hit the coke with his kendo so it will fly towards the opponent. If the opponent is in the corner, the coke hits twice and you are able to smash the coke a maximum of 6 times. Though, if you do, you can't combo out of this. So 5 hits are ideal. Then you follow with a 214B, 623C. Repeat this one. Then you can Superjump and ABC, then land, 2A, ABC, 623B, D, ABC, 214B, 623C, Superjump, ABC.
I did it once, it's possible and it does more than 6k damage. Though Ren is a low-tier, he is pretty impressive.

The coke thing only works if you got the right distance from your enemy. In the dojo stage, you should stand directly in front of the stipe. In the school stage on the top of the school, you should stand right on the fissile which is straight vertical. If you're too close, you can't hit the coke that many times and if you're too far away, the coke will fly too low and finally land in front of the opponent.

Maybe someone is crazy enough to do this combo after the coke wars.
214B, 623C, 214B, 623C, Superjump, jA, jB, jC, 2A (on the ground), B, C, 623B, D, A, B, C, 214B, 623C, Superjump, jB, jC

This is one that does some more than 5k damage. In combination with the coke it would be really powerful, I think.

However, this is what it starts like.

Oh. I used to play that game.
I use Senna, Kunagi and Rouga.

Senna is easy to use. It's easy to make combos using her.
Kunagi is kind of strategical.
Rouga is a balanced character.

These are only my opinions.

iirc NorCal tried BBB for about 15 minutes then the only person who had it at the time promptly uninstalled it.

...I played Hanny.

That's weird. This game is based on a H game, you are theoretically not able to uninstall it.

DIVIDE BY ZERO?!

I play as Kunagi, because ookami-mimi is too cute. Plus feminism, etc. etc. ((For an H-game based title, there sure is an excess of Y chromosomes... Although admittedly, seeing as how there's only two and a half girls in Melty Bread, I guess they're tailoring to their audience...))

My friends got their butts handed to them, after which they promptly attempted to delete the game from my harddrive and smash the disc and destroy the evidence.

Even after patching the game, they still refuse to play. oro oro...

But yeah, I hope a netplay client comes out for this one day. I'm still undecided as to whether I'll try playing Guilty Gear, so I've been playing a bunch of doujin fighters in the meantime.

lol, I guess you weren't around here during the release of BBB.  A lot of people around here, myself included, were definitely caught up in the hype.  We were working on a wiki for it at the time, and I put in a shitload of work figuring out the highest damage combos (both meterless, one bar, and two bar combos) for Daigo.

The hype died out almost completely within the month though.  I lost interest in it completely.  =\

wasn't that one of those games that isn't balanced very well?

Yeah, Rouga had a corner death loop and Kunagi was just too good.  Everyone else sort of paled in comparison, although personally I don't see how the quick ass boxer guy (I'm blanking on his name right now) isn't broken as well with his long chain combos and parry.  Especially when you realize that the parry window can be increased with his Enhance.  In theory he should be flat out too good.  *shrugs*

But yeah, everyone else just kind of failed.  Senna, the twins, and Heita just didn't have the damage output (unless you could actually manage to get into SUPA MOOOOODO with Heita, which is impractical), especially with one of the patches nerfing Senna's previous main loop from the demo release.  lol, I remember Zaido and a few others that complained about how the twins needed two bars of meter to get the damage that most people could with just one.  Daigo's damage was too dependant on building up his medals and raping with his j.236d or j.41236d or whatever was the input for that fiery air dragon kick super; seeing as how you only have one move that builds medals and you can't really combo into it very well if you want any kind of reliable damage, it made things just too hard to get reliable damage.  Ren and the huge guy I don't even remember enough about to really comment on them.  They must not have been very notable to me for some reason or another.

Also, I lol'd that the secret characters were comprised of 3 broken characters and one shit character.  haha.  Devil Daigo or whoever was the devil character was such crap, even with the ability to get a third loop in his air combo.  Hanny and Manbo (or whatever the cactus' name was) were totally broken though.  Hanny could OHKO someone if you built up enough bubbles before touching an enemy (which was around 30 iirc), and the cactus had an infinite combo you could do by using his C weapon change to reset his combo.  And Super Heita...lol...that's just rape.

I was really excited about the game back when it first came out and though the game needed patching, the subsequent patches made it not so fun to play anymore. I was really turned off by how C attacks cost P-meter and that P-meter charging was a hell of a lot slower.

I tried out this game a bit. Was having fun using the sisters, that little claw slasher girl and the boxer dude.  I ended up getting some decent BnB's on the fly with those ppl. I was also having fun  trying to perfect the dash semi-infinite with that boxer dude xD.

I never patched the game though so i don't know how it is now.

Yeah, the game was broken, and then when they added patches, instead of making it better, they just did stuff that pissed off EVERYONE, not just the people who used the good characters.

The worst part is that after all the patching and stuff, Kunagi and Super Heita were STILL top, in a game that was made a lot less fun.

Hopefully they release 2nd impression or whatever and just get a kinda clean start. I like how the game plays, and i think its really fun using Kunagi, and i think the other characters should have just as many good options as she does, and balance things out. But whatever.

Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure that NRF, the circle who created BBB fell apart shortly after releasing it, or at the very least I know that they no longer develop, manage or support it as they transferred it to Aja Games.

... I tried it once. I have no idea who the characters are, but I mainly used the samurai chick who eerily looked like Chikane.

Now that someone mentioned its another H-GAEM turned Fighter like MBAC, what was the original name of the H-Game?

I don't play this anymore but I used to play this a lot when it was released. I use Rouga and Burai.

There are still a lot of issues with the game they need to fix, but it has been like months since the last patch, hopefully they're not abandoning the game since there are so much they could do to make this a great game.

I actually am just starting to get back into this game. Just go it installed again and patched up. So far I'm really liking Kunagi. I used to play the twins and Burai.

Here is a nice community for the game: http://www.bigbangbeatbase.com/

They have some good guides for almost all the characters.
