This game needs moar ⑨.  Then I might take it up seriously.

Till then I'll have fun occasionally playing with my scrubby Remillia.  =>

Is IaMP not about projectile-spamming at higher levels of play? I never watched any competitive IaMP play myself.

High level IaMP is about mind games, strong defense, spacing, and long rushdown strings.

Patch vs Yuyu, probably the most famous IaMP match ever
Youmu vs Remilia
Alice vs Suika
Sakuya vs Yukari
Reimu vs Marisa
Meirin vs Reimu

All I really do with Patch is to chuck fireballs and geysers the entire time, really.

When he's almost down, activate spell card and blow his ass with a nice St. Elmo's fire  :V

Won't work against anyone who actually knows that you can dash through 90% of Patch's arsenal

What about that 3.DB? Try dashing through that.

Also, can't it be said that you can dash through most of almost every character's arsenal?

I know, it's low level play for a reason, it's so easily counterable is funny.

Patchy suffers the most out of projectile grazing because the large majority of her attacks are projectiles, and she's almost hopeless in melee (save for her j.C? The jumping book of death  :V).

Oh, what does it mean when there's a sound of glass shattering when you hit an opponent with a heavy attack, i.e. an overhead?

j.C is a bullet. C button is universally bullet attack. You're probably thinking her j.B.

The loud sound and starshitting is indicative of a counterhit. They're very clearly broadcasted in IaMP.

Also, can't it be said that you can dash through most of almost every character's arsenal?

Patchouli has far less effective melee than anyone else in the game, and while other characters can stagger melee-melee strings, it's not that practical for her.

I like Meirin and Marisa.

Even though it's way more complex than I give it credit for, I still can't seem to take this game seriously. :psyduck:

Needless to say, I'm not very good.

10 characters seems to be the new default standard for Arc System fighters without a previous installment: SBX, HnK, BlazBlue. Given that Tasofro's games are highly influenced by Arc, this isn't too unexpected

In the context of IaMP 11 characters is fine, although the 11th character is a bit out of place since she wasn't planned to be in the game originally. SWR had up to 20 character slots in its data files but god knows when we'll be seeing that game; I don't expect more than 16 characters anyways

Tropsy.

I haven't played in yonks, but tend to stick to Yuyu and Suika with some Yukarin whenever I'm in the need for a roadsign or two.

I just started playing a few weeks ago, and I've been playing Hong Meirin. I'm finding it hard to get used to the game though. @_@

That's, uh, usually why we don't recommend starting with Hong. She needs a solid understanding of movement to use effectively, and you tend to get tunnel visioned when playing her. Youmu sort of has a similar problem, but not as bad.

Lunatic story mode is excellent for learning proper movement and grazing, think of it as a tutorial mode.

Actually, I started with Youmu and played Meirin just to see what all this "zomg character added" fuss was all about. I don't really have a main anymore. :S
I'll try playing on Lunatic though.

Lunatic actually trains your graze instinct to a tee. When I was running Lunatic story for every character the only one I couldn't finish was Suika's final with Reimu. Circling 1 frame opening Spell cards for the rape.

Main: Aoko
Secondary: Kohaku
How about those orbs? BlazBlue: Litchi Arcana Heart: Kamui (Bha/Pa), Mei-Fang (LaGo) CvS2: K- Mai, Morrigan, Nakoruru (2)

That's probably because Reimu's grazing is the worst in the game, tied with Meiling. She blocks well though! (Unless you mean final spellcard when playing as Suika, then the answer is just to go under her and spam 2c. A lot. Seriously.)

Unrelatedly, I wrote a utility a few days ago to display the hitbox data, for dorks interested in that sort of thing. Check it out.
