I'm Fucking the cat.
I'm actually the worst player on the east coast, Though I'm not known.
Hay guys I'm Duppy, also known as the worst Melty Blood player on the east coast, a sad emo who cuts down the street ((http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1683/emotemobp8.gif)), and bellreisa's punching bag. I also hate you all. Really.
So, uh... what's good?
POPNWAFFLES: Hey, get that scrub Fubarduck to get his scrubby self on here. ;D j/k, but seriously, I haven't seen that guy in like, a year and a half. We need more 3s players in here, damnit!

Hi.
623B->Arc Drive For The Win.
So, where are the big hotspots in the US to play Melty? Due to my job I can flyout to most of the larger cities in the US and i'm curious as to where I can get my head smashed by the higher-ups ;D
NekoJesus has the best avatar/sig ever.
Yes, NekoJesus does have a pretty awesome avatar and signature, haha.

Actually, I'm Kaistar. I play 3s and MBAC at Interface in Simi Valley. The end.
I didn't know they had this thread, but oh well.
I'm Shashin. I've been playing this game for about a week now, and my character is the fucking cat. I hate her, but she is amazing. I really only play SSBM and Go at a decent level. I plan to become good at this game (as in actually being able to hit people in higher level play) and to enter tournaments. Later.

Eh? You play Go?
I used to be 1d amateur rank and rising but I stopped playing about 4 years ago and dropped around 7, 8 stones in strength.
Hey guys, I'm Emperor Haseo, AKA [Kaze]. I just started playing and I ran into a melty blood machine at "Family Fun Arcade" in Granada Hills CA. Are there any regulars that go there? I wan't to train with several people to become better, it should be fun. If anybody is interested, send me a message Via Myspace and lable the message "Melty Blood", the URL is set to my website link just below my avatar. The character I am starting out with is Nanaya Shiki. I am always up for a good challenge. I Also play SSBM, I got second place in the Anime Los Angeles tournament with Mewtwo, so you know I love to challenge myself.
Any of the moderators or commentators of the West Toast #2 Tourny are locals? Message me, too, guys! I wanna add to the community!
Hey guys (and gals if there are any around ;D), spoonz here.
I'm from an island called Trinidad, I just started playing this a few days ago. So far I'm liking V. Akiha and Warachia. The competitive scene locally is pretty much lacklustre, and our level of play is below average at best in most games.
I'm trying to change that by running tournaments and stuff, but we'll see how that goes along and how much better I can get with your help.
Anyways try not to bite me too hard if I come across as clueless :psyduck:
ya I gotchathe same tiamat from The soul calibur forums??
glad to be here I'll be hanging around
Hi, I'm from Victoria, B.C. (It's in Canada). I really enjoyed the Interface WestToast #2 Video. Because of the hardwork of everyone that participated in it, I've become a much better MB player. My love for the game has grown even more.
JuniorSantos, your Aoko Aozaki is very fun to watch!
Please take care of me and likewise. Thanks a bunch!
+1 forum to monitor. yay! A few things about meI also attempt to play Vermilion though my success is about the same as you X_X, I'm working on a site that will hopefully become "the" place to find any and all information about her so keep an eye out for it ^^
<---absolutely terrible in the game. I try to play Akiha Vermilion, but fail hard at it. And I haven't really been able to gather any helpful info on her...so that begs the question: does anyone even play her?
<---too cheap to buy a PS2 and hence stuck in FT till august and my shiny copy of mbac for PC comes in the mail.
<---norcal. Seen a few good players around a couple of times, though can't remember names for the life of me.

Dude, Mugen is just better. It perfectly represents the Melty Blood system and everything. Right down to your character switching with their reflection in the floor.
No way. Your characters switching with their reflections randomly is a feature of MB. It's kind of hard to hit the opponent, but if the move has a big enough hit box...Dude, Mugen is just better. It perfectly represents the Melty Blood system and everything. Right down to your character switching with their reflection in the floor.
I hope you're joking.

Dude, Mugen is just better. It perfectly represents the Melty Blood system and everything. Right down to your character switching with their reflection in the floor.I doubt M.U.G.E.N. is better than the real thing. Transferring fighting game characters to M.U.G.E.N. changes the experience dramatically, and you have to relearn how to play characters if you switch from it to the character's real game. For instance, I can play Hayato and Jill in Marvel VS Capcom 2 a hella lot better in the real version than in the M.U.G.E.N. version.
I don't think he's joking.Of course not! It's just like MB! Right down to

That's not to say that Raien Makoto's, 9's, and ‡H's Melty Blood character's didn't pwn, though. They were very well made....
Sadly Chibi-sama, I don't think he's joking.
If you think Kix might be joking he is.You have the logic of primape's penis.
plus hes talking about our glitchy mugen stuff in cintext of whether its the same so obviously hes sarcastic.

Oh please. For the love of god. This is an English forum. Don't us Japanese honorifics unless the sentence containing them is completely in Japanese. To go the 日本語BBS section for that sort of thing.
Dare I ask why you're flipping out over Japanese Honorifics?
Dare I ask why you're flipping out over Japanese Honorifics?
Shit, man. It's hard for me to say it properly. Basically, mixing up English and Japanese honorifics is horrifying. Due to past experiences at anime cons, high school, etc., I cannot look respectably on anyone who mixes the two together. They're people who have total hype for NIPPONGO and all things NIPPON and show what a NIPPONJIN they are, they mix up honorifics from another language into their already badly spoken English.
Yes, I'm biased. Why? I never got as bad as other people, but in my middle teenage years, I was one of the above nerds. I actually tried to imitate Dragon Ball Z characters and tried to shoot beams out of my hands (you are all free to lulz). Now I'm a hybrid geek who wears decent clothing, showers regularly, can speak normally in public, plays plenty of games, and watches plenty of anime and films. So considering MY evolution, I can either hate what I was and people who remind me of myself back in the day, or try to guide them in the "right" direction. This may fall on deaf ears at the moment, but hopefully you'll remember it if you clean up your act.

I was thinking of writing something completely hysterical that pertained to Japanese honorifics, as well as a chanting muffin. I would love to type it in Japanese, but I lack the knowledge on how to change a keyboard into that mode (I can read and write Japanese in real life, aside from most kanji.) If you have this knowledge, let me know.
You realize how condescending you sound in this post? You got no right to talk down to people because you think "hybrid geeks" are one step up
Elistism sucks - whatever form it's in
I'm Motoh. I own minor hobbyists and the rare expert who slips up, but I'm still a nabcake myself. Picked up Melty Blood on a mix of fighting game habit (SNK mostly) and a love of Type-Moon merchandising that's probably borderline unhealthy.
I live in central missouri against my will. If anyone can save me or find a MB cab around here, I'll love you forever.

Hey I'm Dev and I reside in NorCal. I've been lurking around Meltybread for awhile now but it wasn't untill I went to AX and talked to a few forum goers (mostly Mailorder) that I decided to stop being lazy and create an account. So here I am...
Suppp fellow Max tune2 player. I used to have three max tuned cars: MR2, Evo 8, Z31 (lawl).... and almost max tuned an R32. yes, I used the tape trick.
but yeah, then I lost my wallet. so bye bye cards. now I quit the game. oh well, I sucked anyway. I could beat any casual player, but L-O-L at my time trial attempts. even in Arizona, we had a dude in EVIL* rockin all the top scores on the machines at Golfland. then if you went to Castles and Coasters or Gameworks, there was this Black dude who beat everyone. He mentioned something about being in 7nights, but then I guess he wasn't in it anymore or something. I dunno.

Hey, guys! I'm Kota, also known as AsunaNegi. I was directed here from AQS. I'm a noob MBAC player who can't afford to import (T.T, I'd love to have the real game instead of an eyepatch) and hasn't found a character to stick with yet (although I've been using Sacchin and Ciel a lot). In the non-MB world I do some editing for Dynasty-Scans. Nice to meet you all, and I hope to learn the ways of MB. And I pray my friends won't find this place, so I'll be able to own them completely.
Where in NY are you?I live about an hour north from NYC. And as of the end of this August I'll be living in NYC for the next 4 years, granted I don't get kicked out of college...

Hi there, I'm the Tuna and I am from NorCal.
I've been playing Melty Blood since ReACT but was never really serious about it. I was more of a KOFXI guy until AC came out. Now, I am hopelessly addicted to it. I enjoy playing casual matches (even more now that NetPlay is out) and hope to improve my game. I usually play HisuKoha with Kohaku as my main. If anyone wants to play a few rounds just drop me a pm.

Oh yeah, juuhachigou is probably the 3rd female that's signed up on this board. WHERE ARE MY WIMMINZ
Hey Katie :V
Hello guys, I suppose an introduction is long overdue. :psyduck:
I'm from a tiny island country they call Singapore. When I was first introduced to MBR I picked up Kohaku and Ciel. Along the way I tried out other characters and started to use Akiha/Vakiha as well. When MBAC rolled along, my main is now officially Kohaku and subs being VAkiha and Nanaya.
I've played countless fighting games in my life - Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Marvel vs Capcom, Soul Calibur, etc - the firm foundation of those fighting games helped to solidify my skills in MB (though they still kinda suck :psyduck:).
I suppose I'm the only guy from that tiny island country on these forums.
Hello I am aokmaniac13.
Nothing exciting happens here, thus not many people here have been exposed to fighting games.
I found out about Melty Blood through a fighting game engine called M.U.G.E.N and I've been a fan ever since.
My experiences with fighting games date back to playing a game called One Must Fall 2097, but I haven't really played things like Street Fighter and King of Fighters until a couple of years ago.
Here's a peace offering.

Well, there probably are some good graphic designers out there under 21. Except they're female. :3
Notice to all newcomers: Posting a full-screen image as your introductory post is retardedly pretentious. Though harmless to everyone but yourself, please refrain from such shenanigans, or I will call Kayin: Beta Assist (Dash-Type) to PATRIOT MISSILE KIIIIKU your post into Sacchin Toast. There are better ways to self-promote.

Hey, I don't know what you guys are talking about, I was just trying to promote my business. Can I hire you for your Haxoring services :teach:
So in other words welcome to the forum :V, and hopefully enjoy your stay ;).
Are you the "Melty King" of bugis junction TKA arcade?
Hi, everyone. A lot of you know me as that guy who was asking, "Who's Magz? Who's Tsubasa? Who's Arleith? Who's... :blah:" at that recent tourney at SJSU . Great way to make a first impression I bet. >>;;
My real name is Nick.
I play mainly with V. Akiha, but I need a lot of practice. I don't even understand half the terms you guys use on these forums, so I have my work cut out for me. :slowpoke:
Hi, I'm Alex, I play Aoko, though my favorite character is Akiha. I don't play often, but MB is the only fighting game I play. I'm from So-Cal, and I work for Arlieth~AHAHHAHAH Arlieth slave.

Hey Tenkai, drop by the San Jose State University's Student Union sometime. That's generally where most of the NorCal scene meet up for casuals and whatnot.Thanks. I'd like to head down for some casuals, but I don't think there will be many opportunities for me to make the forty-five minute drive down to San Jose (unless I end up going to college there, which is possible but not the most likely option). I guess you never know.
Oh and welcome to the forums.
Tenaki, you live where my best friend (and only friend) used to live.Yeah? That's awesome. The city itself isn't so great, I would say. Here, we call it "The City of Eternal Fog." ... Or maybe we don't, but I call it that at least.
I'm Dysan. Just introducing myself here because I have to, so whatever. That is amazing you need to add Umbrella chronicles to your game list though!
Uh, I've been out of most games for awhile now until I got a Wii and a copy of the latest Guilty Gear, which rekindled my love for fighting games. Recently, I've gotten a copy of the Act Cadenza for the PC and well... would just like to learn more about this game and that sort of stuff, so here I am.
Hi I'm new and from aussieland.welcome! i'm trying to get some stuff going on in australia so please post on this thread~
wut up, sry about that mud stain on ur floor, my shoes were dirty, ill clean that up later
Hello. I don't actually play the game, but I signed up to answer a post.Well start playing!
This brings up an interesting question. You don't seem to be involved in the fighting game scene so how did you find your way here in the first place? He's from Ventura. Probably Soniti. lulz

I finally decided to de-lurk and sign up today.
Hello all I'm Takthere is no tsukihime anime
My interests are:
Games such as Melty Blood, King Of Fighters, SSBM and Initial D Arcade Stage 4
Anime, I'm not going to all of the ones that i watch becuase i'll be here forever if i do....
anyway i some of my favorites are Tsukhime, Rurouni Kenshin, Initial D, Bleach and Death Note
I am a MASSIVE Japanese car fan, my all time favorite would have to be a Nissan Silvia S13.
I'm babbling on here so i'll finish with who i use in Melty Blood, I use Tohno Shiki (primary) , Kohaku, Nanaya Shiki and i use Satsuki for fun.
there is no tsukihime anime
It is, (as well as the cake)there is no tsukihime anime
The Tsukihime anime is a lie?
A denial again.....Nope, dosen't exist.
There is
I've already watched it.
The reason why people always deny it is because they didn't want it to exist
Well i kinda find it boring too
Because the story has been mixed and some of the MB characters you know(and use) aren't there. Its got weird action too. I also didn't like the art
There was a reason because it was created and showed to the public....
..........They wanted the viewers to buy the Kagetsu Tohya or other Tsukihime games for you to better understand the story.
But that's really the story. It was just mixed. Just like Fate.
It is, (as well as the cake)
How the HELL can someone not like cake?agreed I'm not into anime that much either but to not like cake!! that is high treason.
The dislike of cake is a lie.

Ohi I'm new. :P
I just bought AC a couple days ago. (To be honest, I ordered Arcana Heart, but Play-Asia messed up the shipment. Clearly, fate was at work here. XD )
I play Miyako and stuffs....Oh, and I live in Ontario, Canada.
Hi, I'm Azure Rouge. I'm a Ciel player hailing from Alberta, Canada. Male, 23.Practice makes perfect. And welcome :toot:
With that said, I'm not fairly good, but I'm hoping someday to get better.
^_^Yeah she is kind cheap she has a lot of clash frames and ridiculously easy combos (i.e. A+B+C).
Ciel is easy to use, because she can make ranged and melee attacks(well that's what I think). Experiment on different combos with her, so that your friends can't easily predict your moves.
And good luck with your practicing. ;)
Welcome! :toot:
Welcome. :toot:Now I get why you are having more posts than I have though you registered later.

Yeah she is kind cheap she has a lot of clash frames and ridiculously easy combos (i.e. A+B+C).^_^;; Um... What's a clash frame?
Ask Pi about that!!
Basically when you hit someone at the same time as they hit you ciel will win because she has more frame advantage when you clash.^_^

^_^ Well, with her ranged and melee attacks, I'm still working on as well. Though, since I finally bought a controller, they are becoming easier to pull off (especially 236c). Though my pinpoint blocking I have with a keyboard is suffering (though that could be because the controller is Vista only, and I run XP).
^_^ Considering I'm beating up one of my buddies that I couldn't originally, and I can parry Arc-Drives (or at least the ones taht can be parried), I think I'm getting better.Yeah she is kind cheap she has a lot of clash frames and ridiculously easy combos (i.e. A+B+C).^_^;; Um... Hi.Hello there.
may i ask what the magic circuits in the profile are? When you become more of a experienced user you will be able to give magic circuits to other people. To my understanding you can give them for what ever reason but most of the time they are reserved for helpful useful knowledge, (but occasionally for something extremely hilarious).

Theoretically, no, except for the fact that according to 4chan, girls don't exist on the internets.
hola Asuzagi, stop watching tsukihime anime, animation is terriblewow, good call, I'll do it right now...for the boobies.
instead read it, so much better and theres boobies, google onemanga
and fucking /b/tards
Hello everyone. If by chance you can't read my name in right hand side of the post, I go by the name Veleon.
MBAC was my first shot at the Melty Blood series. I was first introduced to the whole Tsukihime universe when I watched the anime for the first time. Soon after I learned about the visual novel and melty blood. However I never really got around to playing them. Recently I did and now I am hooked on MBAC. A couple of friends and I just goof around with each other on campus after we finish our classes. My main is pretty much Red Arc. After her it would be Nanaya Shiki, Arcuied, and Ciel probably. I was introduced to this site by one of the members here (I believe he is known as Brandino here). We both post on an anime site and I asked if there was a list of teirs and he directed me here.
Since someone above me posted somewhat of the same thing...My personal favorite move happens to be Hisui's 6C. The noise the frying pan makes when it hits cracks me up every time.

Anyways you should check out the Michigan thread...I hear there's a gathering for SSBB sometime this week. I'm considering it. You should go.
I just started playing Act Cadenza a few days ago because one of my friends kept bugging me to play it. Suprising to say that I actually find it the most entertaining fighting game I've played in a long time. I still suck compared to everyone else, but I hope to get better so I can participate in some of the online tournaments here without making myself look like a fool.Yay, more love for the Red-Haired Plunderer with Delicious Flat Chest. :D
The character I use the most is Vermillion Akiha.

I wonder why I like Akiha Vermillion more than Akiha Tohno...is it because she looks cute while drinking that blood pack???

I amFrau BlücherAbstract Nonsense.
I've been playing this game for about two days now and I find it very fun. Netplay is awesome, and it's what I've been looking for in a 2-d fighter for some time now. Currently I'm in the process of picking a main and getting a hang of the games rather odd input rules. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with either Akiha or Satsuki.
Currently I suck...and I'm based in NorCal.

Where exactly in Norcal are you? A few of us have been trying to find people around the San Francisco area to go to SFSU and play. But if you're not around here, you might be closer to SJSU, which has a more active community.
Hello meltybread, I'm Capella from central CA. I've been lurking this board for months but decided to register because I have decided to step up from scrubbiness. I started MBR:FT around the same time I started reading Tsukihime, and became a huge TM fanboy. MeltyBlood was the first fighting game I ever got into so I am like extra-scrubby :psyduck:. I'm going to ask here, since I don't want to make a whole thread for it, but does anybody know the keyboard controls for MB:AC, I need to know them to attempt to configure my X-Arcade :mystery:.Oh pick me pick me
Welcome to Melty Bread Alternate!
You should try hitting up Final Round!

hello everyone, I am just another gamer who is interested in melty blood :). Recently ive found out about melty blood including the tsukihime anime and uh, just now finding out about it in 2008 ^_^;. Wish i knew about it sooner..The tsukihime anime is horrible compared to the source material. Play the visual novel and read the manga.
i dont have a character i play with yet, i have yet to receive my copy of cadenza version B.
I am from kansas city :) and i hope to learn a great deal from these forums. I do have some questions i would like to post but at the moment i do not know where. ???

In fact, most people deny it even exists.
Hey all Holierthanu here. I hail from Phoenix AZ and have been playing melty blood rather casually for the past year. I was more into GG since my local arcade actually had a machine but not many people seemed to play it focusing on the button smashing MVC2. But now ive learned about netplay. Been lurking here for about a month and decided id try to get good enough to go to West Toast someday, so ill probably post asking random questions or giving my limited 2 cents. I main Akiha Tohno though im also trying to learn Warc and Ciel a bit, allthough sion has been catching my eye as well. Youll probably find me also lurking in the MBAC irc channel.
Also if anyone can give me advice on how to lift my 2 ton thumb of the dpad so I stop useing EX flameribbon like a tard in Akihas corner BnB id be all up for it.

Play someone that will punish you every time you do it, eventually you will break the habit. Things like that become bad habits when you play people and it works. It starts to become second nature. Either make a conscious effort to stop doing it or have someone beat it out of you.
Ummm... *bow* nice to meet you guys. I've been a long time lurker and figured now would be as good a time as any to end that. ^^;;
I hear Irovax is... perhaps not WELL known, but somewhat known around here...? I'd say "please don't pick on her too much," but she'll probably be the one who defends me. Ahaha...
Warakiha is my schoolmate. I don't know if he's registered on here yet, but I've seen him a few times on IRC. I apologize; it might have been I who disillusioned him into believing that Arc Driving every time he reaches 100% is a good idea... >.<;;
I main as Ciel, but I play a bit unorthodoxically, so I'm looking forward to being able to see how she should be played.
どうぞよろしく。
Hello everyone, I've just started playing melty and I thought I should introduce myself.Check out the NorCal regional thread. You can drop by on Mondays and Wednesdays at the SJSU Student Union, outside the bowling alley. Sometimes we have sessions on Saturdays. People play on Tuesdays and Thursdays too but most people have classes and less people come from out-of-school tohes days.
I am currently playing every character, because i haven't found a good fit yet. I'm a Norcal player, and because I've just started I'm looking for people to play with. If you would like to play then PM me, i should be on irc soon, and my aim is in my profile ^^
Now, to find out how to use IRC and start fighting.
Yet another person joins the fray. I've been playing Melty Blood for a while, however I still have to learn what blocking means ::) Anyway I'm from the UK and you'll probably see me post every now and again.

I'm Kadou Kage-sama.
I'm a fan of anime and manga, and of couse a big fan of Fate/stay night and Tsukihime. I play as Kohaku mostly in Melty Blood: Act Cadenza.

Hi, I'm only here because my work place blocks every game forums besides this one and dustloop.
You can view ikusat's Aoko tutorial on YouTube to start you off. You might want to understand the way they express the button inputs first though, otherwise you'll be at a loss staring at the thing :psyduck:
Hey, I'm Stuntchy, new here (Of course of I wouldn't post here otherwise) the MB Scene is VERY weak here, NEVER heard of it and probably wouldn't have heard of it, if not been for MUGEN, and You Tube, it's a fun game trying to get better as all new players are, I like Kouma, he's a hard hitter, that does alot of damage without needing a million hits which is both a good thing, but bad also because his array of attacks are limited, (As my small time as playing him.) and the beautiful but hard Aoko, I like her projectile attacks, haven't learned to use them correctly though, and as for her BNB's I can't get pass 3 hits before reverting back to my button mashing ways. which of course in this game...can get you killed, her attacks also remind me of a character in another series Terry Bogard who's moves in projectiles are similar to me. But I shall study the vids!Other people post here too...
Oh yeah, juuhachigou is probably the 3rd female that's signed up on this board. WHERE ARE MY WIMMINZ

Hi, I'm new here and I live in Michigan, where a competitive scene for any video games at all is pretty much non-existent. :VSucks that no one plays in Michigan because im from Ohio and no one plays here either!!!
I got into competitive Smash around '07, but that's kinda dying out due to Brawl being a subpar game to move on to. And I guess I played some IaMP. Then I saw a bunch of random MBAC vids on sibladeko's channel or something and decided to get into that, after finishing Tsukihime's five paths. Since there's not really any tournaments that happen around here for anything except SSBB, I just netplay with friends. Also, I play on keyboard, lulz.
Oh yeah, and I play Nanaya because I have no tech skill.

Wow, some of you seem to have very naughty little mouths, Anyway I digress from the topic at hand.
I am Lee, I am learning MB with the help of my friend Soniti, here on the West Coast [Toast i believe is the term]. I my chosen character to learn vigorously is Ciel. Although I've been trying at this for a while, It seems I have no talent for these games. Eh C'est la vie.
HiHi, the name's Gao, and i'm new to these forums. I started to get into Melty Blood like 1 month ago. I'm probably better then you guys at losing in this game, So I could practically brag that I'm better then you guys at being the worst player. I plan to get into this game competitively like in a year after I get done with the game that I'm already in the competitive scenes. I play Vermillion Akiha if you're wondering. Nice to meet you. P.S. I can be dumb at times, hope you won't mind. I look forward to learn from you guys!
Negro = blackRacist.
I'm from Las Vegas, Unfortunately since I'm still kinda new to this game, I only have the ps2 version since my computer cannot process ANY games.... or certain programs to that to. yes my life suxYo, I'm from vegas too. There's not really a scene down here, but if you ever want to try and set up a day to get together with some of the other locals and play, pm me and we'll share info.
Hey My Name is Silent Knight and I have been playing Melty Blood for 7 mouths and I mainly play as Sion,Ciel, Neco, and the Shiki Bros. I also Play the King Of Fighters, Marvel vs Series, and Street Fighter Series(Don't like 3rd Strike)...I'm not sure I even wanna know.
Usually people that come on here are Tsukihime/Melty Blood fans, but it's unusual for someone who isn't a fan of those to be on here.
Why have I never seen this topic?
Yeah, the name is Kirby, whats good?
Warc here, translations there, you all know the story by now lol.

Hi, Arlieth. How do you do?Kinta, have you come here looking to improve on your english by conversing on english message boards?
I retrieved message board by using the key word such as "english" and "message board" in google.
This message board is one of them. Then, I came here.
Somehow A style of painting of Melty Brood's pictures are not suitable for my taste...
However, I have an enjoyable that I read the conversation here.
By the way, Are Melty Blood and Melty Bread different games?Lol! sig'd
Melty Bread isn't a game. It's this board's name.Melty bread is a board game version of Melty Blood, it is similar to Monopoly and Scrabble, It makes discrete references to 2girsl1cup, and Big Rigs Over The Road Racing. The object it to be the first player to completely cross the entire board, while not dying and killing all the enemies, which lets you go towards the future and into the crimson moon, if done correctly you will receive a scape doll.
Why the bloody hell are you forgetting loli, traps and dickgirls? This.
Loli, give the guy a break. He's most likely native Japanese. :PI was actually being serious with my question. I understand he's native Japanese, and I wouldn't mind conversing with him to help him better his English. I'd make a separate thread for it though, rather than clutter this one up with unrelated conversation.
Valerian, How do you do?Kinta, melty bread is actually not a game at all. It is just the name of this message board, created by combining melty blood and french bread (the creators of melty blood). Also, I can understand how difficult learning another language is, especially when it's as different as English and Japanese. I've studied to learn Japanese, but it's very difficult for me to progress in.
Yeah, I'm surely looking to make progress in it.
For instance, Chinese or Korean are close to Japanese, so we can master by studing for as much as one year.
However, there are a lot of people who cannot speak English well even if he has studied for ten years just like me because English is a language quite different from Japanese.
and because there is little chance to speak with the person in the sphere in English for person who live in Japan.
By the way, Are Melty Blood and Melty Bread different games?
Why the bloody hell are you forgetting loli, traps and dickgirls?Tis true!
Hello, mewofforcena, Alfonse, and Valerian!! How do you do?There is no Tsukihime anime/manga...what are you referring to??
I have no idea at all...!
One person said that "Melty Bread" was a board game, but other said that it wasn't a game. I'll be crazy in confusion...
Now, I knew it was a game which was made based on the Manga in Japan.
However, the Manga "Melty Blood" or "Tsukihime" aren't sold at the Manga specially book stores in Japan. Why is it?
Most popular Mangas in Japan now are " Naruto", "One Peace", "Magical teacher Negima", and "Grappler Baki", etc...
Hello, mewofforcena, Alfonse, and Valerian!! How do you do?Tsutaya should have Melty Blood and Tsukihime.

However, the Manga "Melty Blood" or "Tsukihime" aren't sold at the Manga specially book stores in Japan. Why is it?
Most popular Mangas in Japan now are " Naruto", "One Peace", "Magical teacher Negima", and "Grappler Baki", etc...
Heyo I'm Adept, I play shooters Competitively (TF2 Currently) and I've always played competitive fighters on the side. Trying out this game.

Yah, I noticed there is some hate for scrubby Ciel players. I will join the scrubtacular play. :emo:And just for having the sheer balls to admit that you will join the Ciel scrubs, you get a +HEAT from me.

It doesn't matter if you're a scrubby or decent Ciel. You'll still get hate.

Btw, is it just the fact that she is considered easy to pick up that's hated? Cuz she reminds me of Claw, and I was able to grasp her attacks fairly quickly. Is she really easy to learn? It seemed like she was alright for figuring out that the best way to take out the computer was to run up and hit it (although both Shikis seem to be better at that), but I could never figure out how she was supposed to work.
No, she has a lot of setups that require a lot of practice, but those options are partially why she's such a stupid bitch. Her shield cancel bnb will be difficult for a new (or lazy) player. She's hated because she has arguably the best dash in game (hitbox+clash), one of the highest meterless damage, great DP options, mindless fullscreen punish with invincibility on 1F, annoying mixups/pokes, and a lot of moves with clash frames. She gets away with a lot of bullshit that will make no sense to either player, no matter how many times you've played her. Also the fact that she looks like a complete retard adds to the annoyance factor. Stupid bitch. bawwwBtw, is it just the fact that she is considered easy to pick up that's hated? Hello, Loli Star here.Y hello thar.
Hey there everyone! I'm from Portugal, my main character is nanaya, but i also play with akiha, aka akiha and sion. looking forward to play with all you!! :bleh:
please make use of our extensive wealth of collective knowledge and experience.Afraid I'll have to take you up on that immediately. I haven't been here long, but people have already been incredibly helpful, and I'd like to do something back. Unfortunately, despite seeing people talk about '+heat', I can't find any way to actually do this for people. Am I being stupid, or is it something I just don't have access to yet?
Deafdefiler, not only does your name make me giggle, but your personal text makes me instantly like you for two reasons. First, relatively correct use of semicolons, and secondly I love lolis but play the rapist.Yeah, the name has... I think four different meanings. At least three of them are vulgar in some way.

Yo. Got into Melty Blood sometime last year, and only just decided to join. So um, nice to meet you all?
Anywho, my favorite characters are Akiha, Red Arcueid and Ciel, and my worst character is Nero. :'(
...
Yeah, that's pretty much all I can think of mentioning really. I look forward to having a bloody good time with you guys.
Hello. I'm Ray and my main's Shiki.Location, Location, Location...

Ask and you shall receive! Honestly it took a while to find, I had to wade through nearly 300 Akiha images in my collection to find it :V
Hello. My name is Bede (pronounced as beed), and I live in New York, about 40 minutes east from Albany. We must live close, because I live in the middle of nowhere too!
I have played Melty Blood casually for a few years. Only since recently have I actually discovered that I really like fighting games enough to get myself an arcade stick (TE Fightstick to be precise). It was also around this time that I discovered MBCaster and this site, and started playing MB (and fighters in general) seriously.
Speaking of MBCaster, since there's no scene near me (I live in the middle of nowhere), I find it quite necessary, so I applaud whoever made this program. I main Len and W. Len, though I'm not great with either yet. I hope to have a good time on the forums.

Fuck yeah shmups! Van, I like you more and more.i have MAD records in ikaruga for Xbox live arcade XD
It's a miracle that there are 2 people with the same interests in Canada, lolYou would be surprised, I've yet to run into a person who actually knows what Melty Blood is, let alone anything Type-moon related.

I would hype up AA, but well, it's sort'a hard when people CAN'T PLACE A PRE-ORDER! Go hype it up :toot:
I've owned MB for a few years now(PS2) but I never really got inot it until I really started trying to learn the game 3 days ago.Arent you from Dustloop? Florida section correct me if Im wrong. btw Welcome to MeltyBread.
I'm learning Nero and either Ciel or Kouma. They aren't any damn MB players around here so I play online.
welll, where to start. Everyone calls me melo. which i am of course. Dan is also nice i prefer the latter Colorado FTW!. my main char is V. Akiha, and i am open to any suggestions or CONSTRUTIVE critisicim. :prinny: :psyduck: if anyone is up for an online match just let me know. if you pick a number between 30, and 80, you've got my loss count for matches. 4 wins
Only character i can play worth a damn in MBAC is Ciel. (Since shes the only character that responds to my face rolling across the keyboard.)Good god this made me lol. You should post more often man. You seem like a pretty cool guy.
After a few months of lurking I finally decided to register here.Aww, you gotta get off that Mugen shit Les, and go to real Melty! Mugen made characters don't have the proper hitboxes on them, so it makes the characters different in somewhat subtle ways.
I currently main Warc but I'm working on getting better with V.Akiha and Arc. Right now I'm stuck using MUGEN but I'm working on getting MBAC in the future.
Anyone who feels like doing so may shorten my name to "Les."

I can believe that, it will have to do until I can get the real thing. I think the physics are off too because there's no way to get enough airtime to do Sacchin's combos. At least the AI I have for Ciel is good blocking practice before it destroys me.Sacchin don't do the air combo thing, fella.

It's not so much a hesitation to leave as it is a lack of resourses to get the real thing. Rest assured that I will switch as soon as possible.Save resources and preorder MBAA. At least that would be my solution, even if it does mean your MB-less until it comes out :emo:

Yoyo Sup. I've been an on/off MBAC Warc, VSion and Banananaya player for several years, and I'm looking forward to the inevitable AA PC port. So no Ryougi until I can get it for free.
I live in the UK, and in addition to Meltan I play Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 (because there's a machine like 3 mins from my house) and I'm starting on Tekken 6 not BR (machine 3 mins from my house)

I barely did any lurking becuase I'm impatient and am an idiot.lol, a very informative introduction there. Don't worry about needing to lurk too much. As long as you read over the rules (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/melty-bread-announcements/melty-bread-rules-please-read-before-posting/), you're pretty much set. =>
uhh I'm Bellarc (Bella)

Welcome.
Last Arc? Ex shield while in Blood Heat mode. Some characters require you to do it in midair (Ciel, Len, Kouma, Arcueid, Mech-Hisui).
edit: oh,and I'd love to know what that hiero is. xD Is that the throwing knifes/swords bullsh*t CPU keeps spamming me with?Hiero is Ciel's infamous 236C.
Hey everyone, this is the official introductory thread. Please tell us where you're from, who you use, and what your local scene's like!
Also: Please read the Melty Bread Rules (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/index.php?topic=2003.msg47701#msg47701) before posting.
Wow dude. Your attitude is gonna get you fried. :psyduck:Who, me? I haven't done anything wrong. I guess me not using Smilies makes it seem like I have an attitude problem. :\ I'm really just kidding around. You shouldn't take me too seriously. I guess I'll use smilies when I'm not being serious ;) :D
Liberal use of ::) or :V might help you seem less serious. From what you've posted so far you've came across as quite arrogant.Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm used to a more laid back forum where everyone knows you're kidding. Well, I guess not here.
giggle??? ??? ???
From what I've seen they only lock things that are unnecessary or in the wrong place. (IE: Your intro thread wasn't needed because this thread is designated for that).Well, that's now what I mean. I actually noticed the thread after I made my post, but since most forums don't have a rule about posting there, I figured, "meh, no big deal" but I got warned... anyways, I got a thread locked, and currently, I don't know the reason. I PMd the Admin who locked it asking why, because no reason was stated.
As for how serious everyone is, it depends on the person.
The people here aren't really that interested in that sort of thing. I personally cringed when I first saw that. However, part of it is when you left an obvious opening for a trolling.Well, I didn't mean to troll, I'm just very serious when It comes to trolling. If you were to see the AMOUNT of flaming I get on my videos, you'd know how I feel.
But still, not liking the video isn't a reason to lock the thread. The thread was locked mainly because it was a ''flame-war battlefield'' and was more or less pointless.
Flame war battlefield...? How was it... all of those guys kept saying I sucked. I woke up this morning to see it locked. But the other thing is, the Admin edited the top to say Don't watch it, it's a waste of time. Just locking it would be okay, and saying "This is turning into a Flame-war battlefield" It was locked for the reason "...because it sucks." And the admin decided to tell everyone not to watch it.But still, not liking the video isn't a reason to lock the thread. The thread was locked mainly because it was a ''flame-war battlefield'' and was more or less pointless.
It's because you specifically said not to. I'm not sure if it's their idea of a joke or what.Everything's cleared up now. I got my response, and I'm not longer upset.
Any Flaming or Trolling will be reported to an Admin/Mod. I do not care to hear "You suck" a hundred million times. You can offer constructive criticism for us to make it funnier.Oh c'mon, what did you expect? When you write something like that It's only natural everyone is going to flame you. It was expected, you gave them ''amunition'' and they payed you back. The admin locked it because it wouldn't stop until everyone on the forum had their part of the fun. And well, the admin is a too only a human so he naturaly wanted to have some fun, too.

Anyway this is OT and we should move, or we'll be in trouble.
Maybe, but he'll quickly catch up as he netplays and asks what everybody means when they use that terminology.Well, for his own sanity, I hope he does. xD The first time I went into a SFA3 tournament I kept on fighting normally and barely understood about 30% of the entire conversation going on around me because I didn't know much english and the guys were speaking in technical fighter terms. I STILL don't know what the fuck an Okizeme is supposed to be. XD
As for practicising english, he just needs grammar nazis to point out the mistakes.ololololololz, can I sign up for the job? I happen to be a Certified Grammar Nazi. :D
I STILL don't know what the fuck an Okizeme is supposed to be. XD

Okizeme is when you score a knockdown and you have some time to run setups or mixups on the waking up opponent.I STILL don't know what the fuck an Okizeme is supposed to be. XD
If I'm not mistaken, it applies to any means of rushdown.

A meaty is something you can do on oki. A meaty is just doing an attack so that it is perfectly timed with their wakeup recovery, thereby forcing them to either block or buffer in a reversal.Okizeme is when you score a knockdown and you have some time to run setups or mixups on the waking up opponent.I STILL don't know what the fuck an Okizeme is supposed to be. Damn Coren. 2 years lurking? Bout time you've made an account!Cool, thanks for the welcome.
Anyway, it sounds like you'll be fitting in to the community well. Glad to see you join.
haha thats what everyone in the SC community said. Just mash 2A and you will be fine. The game seems really fun though.........
Its still sigg'dBy the way, Are Melty Blood and Melty Bread different games?classic, really.
and yeah, i just had to bring that up again
Hello all.Not as many people play on arcade cabs now that the ps2 version has released. Right now socal's melty scene isn't as big as the east coast scene, but it's starting to build up. FFA has bi-weekly ranbats though, so that place is sure to have competition for you.
I'm new :blah: :blah: :blah:.
I'm still trying to learn game mechanics, and all that stuff. I'm from the BlazBlue community, so this game is kinda different for me.
I look forward to playing with you guys, once I get my shit together. I'm down to play at the arcades and such, if there's much of a so-cal scene. I never notice anyone on the MBAA cabs at AI, but maybe at FFA/Denjin it's different?
Hopefully soon, I'll be raping you guys with my Mech-Hisui. XD
I noticed the MBAA tourneys there, as I compete in the blazblue tourney as well.Yeah, that was only the second one. The first actually had a surprisingly nice turnout. I'll be driving up from Vegas to participate in either the next one on the 11th or the following one on the 25th. Hopefully I'll see you there. Try and hype that shit up!
I may start to show up early and join the MB tourney from now on. There needs to be more people entering, as I believe the last one was only 5 or 6.
Hello there.
I'm a lurker who decided to join the forums. I've always been a fan of doujin sidescrollers and fighting games. I finished MB:R Story Mode not too long ago and plan on getting MBAC or MBAA sometime or another.
I live in Washington and it seems like the only competitive communities around here are Halo and Smash Bros (which I joined for a bit) :emo:. Hence, I'll most likely be getting MBAC and playing via netplay. I've been trying to get my friends to play Melty Blood with me but they're too deep into Smash and BlazBlue.
I havn't decided on a main yet and only have experience with Tohno, Akiha, and Sion since they're in MB:R Story Mode. Hopefully, the netplay community is still active even after the release of MBAA. Don't want to be leveling off of CPUs for too long. I'd like to get a better equipment (than keyboard) if I get higher leveled.
I totally posted in this thread almost 20 posts ago.
So, Actress Again came out. And my PS2 is modded.
So I'm here! Again trying to decide on a main, again getting ready to be stomped by everyone else.
For those of you who didn't know me when I used tolurk the forumspost here...
I'm Ike. I'm 20 (almost 21!) and I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I have little-to-no scene (there are a few people I've convinced to play with me, but very few of them actually practice) and don't really have a whole lot of time to practice myself except in the wee hours of the morning. I am currently considering maining H-Roa, but I haven't really decided yet.
The end!

What's it like up there?

I would say to try getting ahold of Munsu or Veteru (two WA melty scene guys), but Vet can only be found on DFO* and I'm not sure if Munsu even comes on the forums anymore. =\

Lol. Hey there all. My name is Shiki. (cough.) I live in Queens, New York. I've been lurking around the forums for quite some time now and thought it'd finally be nice to introduce myself. I've been playing Melty Blood for about 4 years now but never got the chance to actually play other people except my neighbor. I have MBAA and I've been playing it for quite a while each and everyday. I do hope to get better at it myself and I plan on joining the Gazebo XII on the 31st. I heard from my friend Andy about the last one in september but I wasn't able to make it cause I had to take my little sister somewhere. >.>. (I'm not sure if he's on this forum as well but he normally goes by CitiofBrass.) Well then, that sums it up for me. I hope to meet some new people here.
Sup everyone.
I've been a MB fan since the first game. I've been lucky to have been able to play MBAA and I must say, its a little weird, especially since I'm so used to MBAC, but I do enjoy it (Archetype Earth is hax!).
Favorite MB characters include Neko Chaos, and Kohaku/Hisui and Reizbyfe. Skill wise, I'm not very good, but I still enjoy playing.
Currently, I'm in the middle of fandubbing the MBAC arcs.

Main C-NAC; become my new favourite person.
Welcome to the boards.
Allow me to reintroduce myself... i was the "drunk guy with the cigar" at the gazebo.
Hi, I'm Tidus.WHY SO BLITZBALL?
I like to play with balls.
Name's Chaser.I like your avatar. Welcome aboard. Guess I'll be meeting you at NEC?
I play F-ries and I am here with about three other players in SOPA (South PA) >.<
You two need to get up on that MBAA! It's leagues above MBAC.
MB scenes are pretty rare. If you dont feel like driving 6-20 hours to reach your nearest scene, you need online functionality. Which is why alot of people (including me) havent picked up the PS2 MBAA. Why get it if you literally have nobody to play against? XD
So i can understand why alot of the newbies only have/play MBAC. MBAA is the better game, ya, but that doesn't mean much if you only have CPU's to fight.
I'm just some vermin excuse of a girl who showed up. I'm strongly attached to bothTough story, since you said "attempting" I presume he failed.
Len and her alternate self (her alternate moreover though), even in dreams (some
reason in more than one dream, ended up becoming White Len). Um, I'm not good
at speaking with people much, especially after being stabbed in the leg and cut
across the arm for trying to stop some convict from attempting murder on my
dad... and the criminal is still around free. Um, well mind me.... I've got a thing
for programing and undercover, lesser designing and development.
A friend recommended me to the series and this site as well.
.....................
:-[
um, when I'm not so nervous, I'll make a more formal and professional introduction.
*shudders*
Tough story, since you said "attempting" I presume he failed.
And with regards to Len/WLen, I'm sure you're not the only one.
Well, aside of that, I hope to be able to go around here for a bit. :-*
But I don't want to copy anyone else, so do I have to change my data or
does that not matter?
CA (close to Arcade Infinity) Kohaku player here.Yet another Kohaku player. Soon the whole US MB community will be Kohaku and Kouma players.
H is very much my preferred style, but getting that damn midscreen command throw combo down is killing me.
(Agonizing over getting the 5C(1) consistently and not whiffing 2C in //63214C 2A(whiff) 5{B} (delay)5C(1) 2C//)
And in C's 6C loop, I whiff 2C all the live long day after the first 6C.
Meh, and I was failing at these two combos constantly no more than 10 minutes ago.
Anyway, would be nice to get annihilated by some good players. Greatest way to learn.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any MBAA play outside of training mode, and no one seems to play whenever I'm at AI.
Also very much into shmups; 11/27 was a good day. A great deal of the tokens in the Mushihimesama Futari machine at AI came out of my pockets.
Hopefully the stick I purchased for it will improve my Touhou and MBAA game too.
Kohaku's too buff now! But seriously, who actually mains Kouma in the US? I can't think of anybody (cept maybe tenkai?).CA (close to Arcade Infinity) Kohaku player here.Yet another Kohaku player. Soon the whole US MB community will be Kohaku and Kouma players.

The day they give Kouma a 360/720 is the day i switch mains. The day that melty has a 360, 720, or even a charge move, the world will explode.

I smell troll.
Seriously, that amount of personal info without any reason? Either it's a troll or an attention-fisher. Either way, not something that's particularly good.
That was aimed at you. Hasuko is thinking you're just posting to get responses.
My name is Branden, I have only played Melty Blood on the PC, and a few other times at Arcade Infinity. Haven't really found my character yet, but I plan on getting Act Cadenza for PS2 soon, so that will change. I live in so Cal, and haven't met anyone else who plays Melty Blood, but I am sure I can get one or two of my friends in on it.

I poked around a bit and found some pretty fun info on our favorite goddess of hentai (three). I would let her rock. :)

AC for PS2? Really?
Why play AC on the PS2 when you can play it on your PC? The PC version is superior and is closer to being the arcade perfect version of AC anyways. My name is Branden, I have only played Melty Blood on the PC, and a few other times at Arcade Infinity. ...ironically I knew of the series since 2006, I watched the show "Tsukihime" in 06...
After seeing the hype Melty Blood got compaired to SF4, that is what I would like to dedicate myself to, not some "just in it for the money and fame" BS.
Yeah, I have been reading the manga too, but only the US releases, so I am only on like book 5. I really just need to sit down and read fan translations. Series is pro.
Edit: Me and my crew were playing last night (MBAA). Got a Nero, Steinberg, and a Miyako(me).
Double Edit: We had a gathering a few weeks ago for Blazblue and other random-ness. LK, St1nkBuG and Reggie (sorry dude, forget your forum name) showed up and wrecked havoc on our scene. Made us think more about MB when it was there in person.
I have personally wanted to play this game for years...like since 07, but something kept me away. Kind of like genius. Time to get it on now though.
We have gatherings in our local area (Deptford, NJ) averaging once a month. I'll keep it posted when it is going down. Keep in mind, we play a lot of shit, so SF4, Blazblue, Mahvel, and others will be present too. You can now count MBAA too.

Hey word up? The name's Carl, but all of my friends call me rice because before I game or bboy(breakdance) I always eat rice and stuff. Before I played MB, I played MvC2 and Guilty Gear. At MBAC I played as Tohno and Kohaku and V.Akiha, but for MBAA I'm learning H-Ryougi and only her, somtimes I'll play C-Tohno just for hell. You should play F Ryougi cuz she has more bboy stances.
I really don't know if there is a scene in boston...I only know LordPangTong plays, who goes to boston for school but lives in CT. I would like to have a gathering of all the MA players who play this game...but yeah thats pretty much it.

Blindgamer17: You're gonna have to explain how you play being blind, because sound cues are awful in most fighting games.

Despite my noobity I'm pretty good.
My other fighters are Street Fighter (3-3rd, and 4) and I play Sean and Dan (respectively)
LOL you mean Tohno Shiki
Kid, did you *want* to get trolled?
-_- My profile pick is a knife, I think that speaks for itself.
How can you be fat and good at a fighting game? That just doesn't make sense.

Oh well, it's cool. Which moon style of w.Len you play? For her, C seems to be the best style overall, but F has some pretty neat tricks if you don't mind having to work REALLY HARD to get your wins. H is like...do people even play this? lol
If no one else plays it, I play it.
Because that's how I do.
Well, air normals is always a weak point for any style of w.Len. Just gotta really utilize those ground normals. H is sort of weird though in comparison to all the others. Run instead of teleport dash, an actual crouch, etc. Unfortunately, I won't be at winter brawl because I'm WC and I don't have the money atm to fly out. You better come down to Evo though! I'm vegas local, so it's my time to play the good host for the melty community. No more bboy stances?! :psyduck:

I'm actaully doing C first and then move to F so that I could adapt to whoever I'm playing against...H is good damage wise, but lacks on air normals...it's kinda crazy that she can do 5.1k with H :mystery:, but ugghhh yo you going to winter brawl at philly...it'll be like my first tournament ever!!!

Anyways folks, personal update here. I just ordered Act Cadenza ver. B from Play Asia. Should be here by Saturday or Tuesday (Monday is MLK after all). I already have the bootleg on my computer (I know, shame on me) but I am excited to finally be out of that horrible pit and back into the light. Now that I own a Wii, I think I am going to get out of PC gaming...with the exception of Melty Blood. It's good that you're putting money into melty, but sad that you're getting the outdated MBAC. =< Try and get up on MBAA, brother! Nobody around here really plays MBAC these days.
So like....Forte is that you?
I'm registered here for ages but I never made an introductory post.
This is my introductory post.
I like melty blood!
...Forte is that you?I certainly don't go by Forte, but if you mistook me for an old friend, maybe it means we have a click! :prinny:
Nevermind, the internet tells me you're not Forte. I just saw the email and mistook you for an old friend. :V
Welcome. Brother complex is a wonderful thing.
Crosseyes, you are one funny person.
1) I believe that the other poster meant "do you want to get flamed" rather than "do you want to get trolled." Trolling is the act of going to a specific forum and purposefully saying things to incite anger from the community e.g. going to a Nintendo Wii forum and saying something like "Wii graphics are fail." Being flamed on the other hand, is saying something ignorant (despite the general ignorance that composes the internet, people always assume that everyone is informed about the subject that a forum is based on) that will result in people furiously insulting you, your intelligence of your very existence.
2) I had to laugh when you called Shiki the "fruit knife glasses guy." I suggest you go watch the anime Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It doesn't quite catch you up on the Melty Blood story, but being familiar with Tsukihime helps out enough to at least know most of the core characters and their names. Either way, welcome to the forums.

Try searching around the Regional Community board (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/regional-community/) or making a thread there. Brother complex truly is wonderful. Actually I was worried someone else was already using this avatar since I saw a bunch of Akiha mugs here before so it's fortunate I got to it first.
So am I the only MB person from Israel? There's no one else I know who likes it as much as I do and it makes it pretty hard to set up a scene. Finding this shit on arcades is just a fantasy too. All I've ever done with other people is MBAC netplay.
Huh, I never posted here :slowpoke: I'm Derek, username is the same on DL, PSN, AIM blah blah. Played AC v.B for awhile, quit, been playing AA since it came out. I live in WA, Lakewood to be exact. Main C-Warc, secondary 1/4 of the cast :psyduck:
Yea when he comes up here. I'm near seattle, I just ran a ranbat on Sunday and he entered. Just wish he lived closer, I'm trying to teach everyone Melty :psyduck:Yeah, I understand how that goes. Doing the same shit here in vegas. It's not an easy gig, but keep it up!

Lamentably there is no spanish section :-\ but I believe that I'm not going to have too many problems

Teaching people is hard, especially when they're kinda half into it =[
I'm like pretty much the only guy running the Vancouver scene.
Maybe one of these days, you guys could come up to Vancouver or we can go down to Seattle for some MB action >.>

Hello~ I'm CL.Nice to meet you CL. You're a pretty famous guy in our community, especially among the Ciel players. Welcome to meltybread, and I look forward to getting to know you in the future.

Hey, just thought I'd introduce myself after lurking for a week.
My name's Chris, go by the alias JUDDERMANG. All the hype over this game for the past week or two got me to research the game (Videos, this forum) and I went and played it at Chinatown Fair today (After trying MBAC on PC), and I think it's awesome. My main is Nero (or is it Chaos? w/e man, HOAAAAAA). I want to get into more sessions to get more indepth with its system. The unity this community has shown has been eyeopening and I hope I can be a part of it. Thanks ;D

I don't actually know if the MBAA cab at CF is the latest version (ver.A) so if someone could clarify that would be great. I'm not EC so I hope you keep playing and that I'll see you at EVO!

You're still playing MBAC? Almost all of us have moved on to the next installment in the series, MBAA (Melty Blood Actress Again). Consider getting a copy of it to be played on a PS2 (or PS2 emulator).

Yeah they have MBAA at CF. Is there a revision that CF hasn't gotten yet? If so, what are the differences between Vanilla and the new version?
Hey everyone, relatively new player here.Great! Another MD player. Check out those links in Curbeh's comments. The few of us in MD/VA are taking MBAA pretty seriously, so you'll have some tough competition.
I dabbled with AC in the past, but after playing AA, I was convinced that this is a game I might want to take seriously. I live in Maryland, about 15 minutes from Baltimore and I'm looking forward to some competition.
Currently learning and deciding between F-Sion and F-Ries.

Hello everybody! My name is Mike, usually go by the tag of Zyine for any game I play (Sharkkato103 is my user name for everything though). Anyway, I would consider myself extremely new to the fighting game scene. I played a lot of melee, never too seriously, just to keep up with my friends who loved the competitive scene. They then moved on to SFIV, and I just felt a whole ton was lacking in that - I really hate how the "combos" aren't showy and weren't all that 'amazing' (It also didn't help the character I liked was Vega, apparently trash according to my friends.) However, I have always been a fan of Tsukihime (Game and Manga), and I only found out recently that a game came out following it, and I eventually made my way here, and from the videos and things that I've seen so far, I think I like what I see. ;DWelcome you'll find plenty of tips here to help u start in your melty career. Aruceid and Riesbyfe are both great characters to play with
Not much else to say I suppose, unless anyone could direct me to where I should go to:
A) Learn the basics of everything, seems like its a lot different than what I've been exposed to so far. (Especially the zoning game, and cross-ups seem way more involved here.)
B) From videos and what I know of the story and characters, I think I'm most interested in Arcueid and Riesbyfe.
C) Where do I find out where people in my area/nearby are playing/possible arcade locales? Then I may actually be able to implement what I learn here =P
Uhh... yeah, that's about it.
Its nice to meet you all!
Edit: Forgot about part C.
Hello everybody! My name is Mike, usually go by the tag of Zyine for any game I play (Sharkkato103 is my user name for everything though). Yeah, a lot of people still don't realize/accept that melty has evolved from the mashy blood days (aka: MBAC). It wouldn't be getting the spotlight right now if it hadn't improved this much.
Also, good to have you here sal and Yubel. Welcome to the community.
Currently learning and deciding between F-Sion and F-Ries.You sir have good tastes. If I had to play Sion, I'd play F-Sion. Riesbyfe is just awesome no matter what version you play.
yea thanks guys. i chose the character from just videos and things ive read. The character choice might change cause keep in mind ive never actually played the game.Cool. It's generally best to just see how the characters play and try out the one that looks the coolest to you at first. You'll be more motivated to practice and learn their stuff, rather than picking someone you aren't interested in just because they're an easy to learn char.
I was going to say who I've decided to main in MB but I'm sure you can work that out :]Shiki?
Shiki?Don't be silly. Neco-Arc.
Ryougi Shiki?
I was going to say who I've decided to main in MB but I'm sure you can work that out :]
anyway i tend to like characters with high power that rely on patience and taking advantage of opponents' mistakes but have a fairly solid pressure/poke game too, as you can see from my previous choices. haven't found anybody that fits me quite like m.bison does in mbaa yet.
From your description I'd suggest either F-Kouma or Sacchin.
Also there doesnt seem to me to be the emphasis on footsie and spacing like in sf4 so I'm going to have to adjust my playstyle regardless of who I pick.
Yes, Sacchin is Satsuki.
Some players can make C-Akiha into a good player for your style too. She's got some nice range and good damage.
i was thinking about her, those fire pits could put pressure on an opponent and her normals have good range, plus that good defense of hersSecond-best in the game, besides the ridiculously-broken Archetype: Earth.
Her air to air isn't to shabby, I'd say. Her j.c has pretty good range on it and she can toss out flame tongues to further affect air movement and throw out nice pokes.i was thinking about her, those fire pits could put pressure on an opponent and her normals have good range, plus that good defense of hersSecond-best in the game, besides the ridiculously-broken Archetype: Earth.
Yeah. The fire is her general anti-air, her 236 is untechable if the last hit connects, and her 22 can actually suck out opponents' magic circuit and be used for some effective traps.
Her main weaknesses are probably her speed (Decent going forward, not so retreating) and her dashes have a limited range. She's also got a fairly weak air-vs-air game.
hm, ill have to give c-akiha a more detailed look then. side note: im liking f-miyako, she has more of the conventional tools im used to having (some kind of distance-closing special, a decent anti air dp, stuff like that), kinda plays like a tiny lil jam complete with having complementary specials that work well together (like 22b and then 236b followup, or 236b canceled into 623bb). her range on her normals isnt great but man if you get inside the other guy eats damage like crazyF Miyako 5B and 2B are actually really good normals in terms of range and priority. Her j.B beats everything air to air also, and has a ton of active frames, and j.C has a really big hitbox.
hell even if youre not a combo monster (and im not heh) you can just mash 2a a few times then 5b 2b 5c 6c 623bb or ex it if you have meter for a good chunk of dmg
oh and not to mention the 22c mindgame. i love stuff like that, since throws dont really do any damage if i could find a good followup off it id be in business

She's a very strong character, but she lacks depth. She has one of the highest damage off of basically anything in the game, but her mixups are actually all real gimmicky and somewhat easy to react to. Also her dp is TRASH. It's horrible. Trust me, I eat shit trying to dp all day unless I use the EX one for its startup inv frames (but even that gets beaten out pretty easily). Because of that she doesn't have a whole lot of defensive options, but her offensive capabilities basically even that out.

You might want to check out more F moon characters in general. A lot of them play more traditionally compared to the rest of the melty cast. F Roa, for example, has a solid dp, decent pokes, minor zoning with his vertical lightings, a way to get in and pressure/mixup with 236b, and a good ex reversal 214c. Many F characters have strong emphasis on their specials or high priority/very safe normals, to make up for their inability to reverse beat.
Hello all my name is kurisu ive been a big fan of melty blood and never even knew there was a community for the game. Im so happy to have finally found one. Some the other games i play are arcana heart blazblue guilty gear Soul cailbur 4. My main in melty blood is khohaku i also use hisui and shion. I also run a gamming bussiness with my partner laswagga we host tournmants and everything and we also host melty blood tournments but i want do everything i can for this community so if anyone needs help with anything just ask me :) Arigatou for allowing me to join the community!Welcome. You forgot to mention that you're from Georgia though. Might help if you want your business/tournaments to get local melty support.
Yo~ I'm a bit new to MBAA, though I've been playing MBAC for awhile and I'm still not good at it. (aka iSUCK)Welcome. F-Miyako is a great chracter and C-Akiha is good for beginners. so either one is fine. When it comes to a stick the cheapest out there price wise is a mayflash universal fightstick. It runs about $40 dollars on play-asia and its great for modding
Anyways, I'm trying to main F-Miyako or C-Akiha~ Also hoping to get a stick...is there a cheap, good one for noobs? lol....

F-Miyako is great... if you can get her to hit. She smacks hard if you get her going, but you need to depend on her speed a lot, and if your opponent is smart he will try to zone her anywhere but immediately next to you.Actually Miyako can eat up Nero pretty easily. Her j.b beats out everything he has, including his anti-air attacks. It's all a matter of spacing. As a Miyako player, I'd say someone like Aoko, Mech, or Ryougi is a more scary opponent. They can stuff your air game better.
Characters with good reach like Nero are Miyako's nightmares.
Yeah, they're reach machines too. And smaller. My point was the others can destroy her air game without having to risk getting hit. Most of Nero's anti-airs are part of his body/hitbox, so you can beat them out while jumping in with her strong air normals. This makes it a lot easier to get in on Nero than some of the other good zoners, which makes it a good matchup for Miyako.
But that's why I said "If you can get her to hit." :P
Yo, resident Long Island F-Aoko here. Props to Comic, Raven, LPT, Yubel Phoenix, and the others who were at Anime Boston. Good games all around. Those were good matches. I still cant believe on the tournament day some us were playing mbaa for over 14hrs :bleh:. Keep on training with Aoko and Roa. Go to animeboston next year i want another session against you and your f-aoko. >:D
I lurked around for a long time since I never really had anyone serious to play with, except a brother who uses C Ryougi. Sucks being too poor to travel and having friends who'd rather play SF4. :emo:

I even brought my PS2 and copy to the con so I could practice in the hotel room. I had way too much to do though.
I find it funny that they came up with so many excuses to cancel the mbaa tournament. First we didn't have enough people for the braggin rights tournament. We needed 8 people for a tournament and we had 10 people signed up. Then on sunday they put us at the 10am time slot when gameroom opened exactly at 10am. The only people there was me, zero and lordpangtong. The tried canceling it again but LPT saved the day with his epic angry complaint. Thats why we got moved up to 10pm.Those were good matches. I joined to say: I traded that donut for an origami ring! Those were some good donuts ;D.Well at least you joined, just keep on practicing your Bnb's
(Yeah, I suck at video games. Irysa bested me in AC in a few months even though I played way longer than him. Though it was only the second time I've ever played AA.)
How's it goin, my name is Bluescreen, I'm an old-school MB player who's just starting to get into the competitive MB scene, after moving from other competitive games (namely DDR/ITG and Brawl). I'm from LA, and me and my roommate both play and are looking for competition/tourneys/friendlies/whatever you've got. So yeah, sup. Hopefully you guys won't hate me hahaha :]

Nah, it's cool I'm not easily trolled lol (I've been on some pretty mean forums). Brawl has a big tournament community, that's why I played it. It's certainly bigger than MB's. There's large national tournaments (pot usually gets up to about 3k), so there's great potential for cashing in. I won't argue the fact that brawl is not a fighting game, for it certainly is not. But it definitely IS a competitive game as there ARE people that play it. But these days, I'm pretty roped up in BlazBlue. That's cool. There's a surprising amount of crossover between the BB and MBAA scenes.
I love KOF 2002, though i don't really know why.
I love KOF 2002, though i don't really know why.Because after the train wreck that was 2001, anything that looked remotely close to the older games seemed godly.
Yeah prefer UM too probably shoulda' mentioned that, don't like most of the stages on UM though.I like FG stages to have a lonely, gloomy feel to them, like MB or GG.I love KOF 2002, though i don't really know why.
I prefer the UM Version. But the brazilian old-2002 players hate the UM version because their prefered characters (Kim,Vanessa, May Lee, Angel, and others) has been without infinites, being slow and rebalanced.
Yeah. You won't see May Lee or Angel or K9999 again - Eolith owns the copyrights to those ones, not SNK Playmore.
I liked Angel too. She was fun to play. And I'd rather have her any day compared to Ramon. Bleh.

Hells yeah! I forgot to mention the sad ironic thing about where i live. I live about a 2 mins walk from a mile stretch of arcades but there isn't a single fighting game in about 30 or so buildings! IT IS REDICULOUS! This town could be massive hotspot had the arcade owners not filled everything with time-crisis ffs. That's terrible. But Really no fighting game arcade stations other than tekken and soul edge. Yikes! :emo:
As far as i know there is one Tekken and one Soul Edge but nobody is gonna play those.
I just got into Melty Blood after experiencing it at Final Round XIII. Now I've got the flip top fat PS2, Melty Blood disc, and Swap Magic, I am ready to begin my journey.welcome aboard and good luck :D
Look forward to another fighting game other than Street Fighter, something different to appease me these days. (I suck at Street Fighter).
Good to be here with you guys. I'm gonna go lurk around and see if I can make heads or tails of this game.
Thanks. Here's the begginers thread.V-sion isn't a good character to start out with imo, but that is all on you. I would recommend any C/H/F tohno, C/H/S Ries, H-Nanaya or any of the akiha's to beginners. http://www.meltybread.com/forums/melty-blood-auditorium/best-character-for-a-beginner/
Since I'm brand new here, any threads recommended for people like me, just starting out? I've been reading the V. Scion combo thread, I can kinda make it out, but I'm still a little lost. I probably passed it about eight times already.

Your man among men!!! :oAt least it's not the Necos.
....... Actually I do play F Neco......
....... Actually I do play F Neco......Go kill yourself. Now.
hi i'm bellreisa i live in socal please play me in meltyYOU STILL DON'T EXIST
Yo Pulse, why are you throwing out hateful words in the intro thread again? Really, it bothers me, even if it's meant jokingly. This isn't the kind of welcome we should be showing people........ Actually I do play F Neco......Go kill yourself. Now.
I can't hate on the Necos? :PI could care less about the necos, but don't say shit like "kill yourself" to someone in the intro thread. That's not hating on the character, that's hating on the player.

I play err, H-Bananaya
Just got AC since it has netplay and also (honestly) because i'm an idiot and wasn't sure how to get AA without having a PS2. Anyway, looking to not suck soon, i'm from alabama where there's a decent Melty scene. I may post from time to time.

...I've been expecting you. Do you have any plans for coming down to Birmingham anytime during the summer?
Hi everyone, I'm Pete278 (though I'm not actually 13, despite the retarded name. Don't know why I still use it), from Perth, Australia. Guess how many people play Melty there. :P I've been considering getting into Melty for a while, though didn't see much point due to living in the most desolated populated city on the planet, but now that I might be moving to Sydney (, Australia), I figured I might as well get into it to be slightly ready for the slightly larger amount of competition there. I play (well, attempt to play) F-Hisui&Kohaku, and I'll be hoping to stay in this community for a while. Thanks for reading ^^.Welcome aboard Pete. Best of luck to you in finding (or building!) a local scene for melty.
Yo! Chhipz here. Live in Rochester, NY but am moving to Buffalo next semester for College. There's a Melty scene up there and I plan on pouring in all my free time into learning this game competitively. I've just started out and have yet to gather all the MB:AA materials, so I'm playing MB:AC, reading strats, watching gameplay, and just familiarizing myself with this franchise in general. I can't wait to get started! That so? We'll likely meet sometime, then.
I'm a Sion/Arcueid fan from the Tsukihime/ Melty Blood manga, and that's transitioning over as my character choices for the game.
My Background: I played Melee competitively for 2 years, then decided to switch because I couldn't find any locals to practice with (other than a few tournaments). I was above average at this game, but I could never find players that would help me elevate my game to the next level. I literally only practiced against computers.
Funny story is, I met a guy who still played Melee not too long ago and we decided to have a match. I haven't played Melee in many years, and was expecting our encounter to be more of a learning experience for me. After all, he'd been practicing all this time, with a group that also played competitively. It turns out, I ended up winning the vast majority of our matches, and continued to do so consistently throughout that semester. It just goes to show you,
Anyways, after Melee I decided to get into Halo competitively, as a lot of my friends played it. This went on up until recently (approx. 3-4 years). I became really good at it, and won several locals, dominated on LAN, but unfortunately I was never able to find solid, dedicated, selfless teammates despite 17-18 months of searching. Another unfortunate situation where I couldn't elevate my game to a higher calibur. After a ton of research and thinking, I'm back to the fighting genre with desire to prove myself. Look out for me in the future ;)
Hi kusanagi. Yeah! There are mexicans here man. Well, I'm from Uruapan Michoacan, but maybe one of these days I'd go to the DF just to play XD! I'd love to play against really very good MB players, and so I could learn some more. And, I agree, we need more MB players. I'm tying to make all of my friends and other people to know Melty Blood and start to play it, y quién sabe, talvez en un par de meses pueda hacer un torneo, te invitare y a ver si puedes venir para que les des una paliza a casi todos, porque yo seguiré jugando, y lo haré lo mejor que pueda para que no te sea tan fácil ganarme XD.
Not only mexicans, also argentine people or the other countries of south-america are in this page, Unfortunately we are very far away from United States and the online playing is too laggy, asi que nos tenemos que conformar con jugar casualmente con algun que otro argentino que este en la red o alguien de estados unidos que no le moleste el lag, en fin bienvenido ;D.Uh oh. I'm gaining levels in Spanish proficiency again. I read most of that message in English again.
I played MBAA in an arcade in Osaka. I got pounded into the ground and probably spent about 3000 yen but it was so much fun. I could sit there for hours. The only problem is that I don't know how to use a stick. I've used a pad all my life (Even my year of IaMP was all pad action). I got a copy of MBAA but my PC can't run it decently. Getting a new computer soon so I hope that changes. If you're going to run it via PCSX2, I'm the man you want to talk to. Assuming you're going to emulate it via PCSX2 (as there is no native PC version) you're going to want a Core 2 Duo of some kind - my recommendation would be the E8400. Its stock speed is 3 GHz, it can easily reach 3.4+ GHz on the stock fan and probably even higher with a better quality third-party one. This CPU will emulate MBAA with no problems whatsoever, full speed, as you'll be able to use the fastest (SSE4.1) renderer, as opposed to being forced to use the slowest (SSE2) renderer on any AMD system.
Oh, I forgot to say what character I play. I played Youmu in IaMP but I don't really know what character fits my playing style (if you can call it that...) in MBAA. I was thinking about C-Ryougi or H-Kohaku. Very open to suggestions.
Hi. I'm Koyunlu, From Tustin (SoCal). I dabbled in MBAC netplay (and once or twice at the arcade, I think?), like, over a year ago, wasn't very good at all, but it was a lot of fun. That died down when MBAA came out, so I haven't been playing the game at all that while. I've been following streams and videos whenever I can, but I didn't know the community was this organized and accessible, and really didn't kow the meltybread forums even existed until the runup to evo. I definitely love MB and am pretty excited to learn AA.

Hey welcome Alegretto and Dogysamich, hope you guys get good games inHave that. I have a PS2 McBoot'd, HD to run the game off of, the works. I still prefer PC over using the actual unit because...
@DarkPulse and 505
You know what would be a lot easier and cheaper to run MBAA with? PS2 + modded memory card
No emulator lag to deal with either

I suggest you look through the characters, Watch some match videos for the characters http://www.youtube.com/user/MeltyBread (http://www.youtube.com/user/MeltyBread), and pick a character who plays the way you like; or who seems cool to you. Sticking to a character and liking them is more important to learning the character than how easy they are anyways.
welcome aboard
which version of KOS-MOS are you? :fap: :fap:
Hello all. This is KOS-MOS and I live in Oklahoma (I was the H-Len player at EVO in pool 2). It was nice meeting everyone there and I'm really interested in getting into the Melty Blood scene (whether it be online or in person). I'd be willing to travel anywhere in the US for tournies or casuals for a weekend (when I have the money :P).
Nice to meet you all =)
Where in NJ are you 505?I'm from a town called Bloomfield, It's between Newark and Montclair. I have family in Hackettstown so I'm also up that way a lot. So yea, North Jersey area. :toot:
DarkPulse: Ok, well go check for input lag using that Guitar hero method or whatever to test. I certainly can't fly over or whatever to test your awesome computer for input lagDon't have Guitar Hero. Don't particularly care for games like that.
Just get a used ps2 or something, they're only like 60 bux, why risk it?

You best believe that next time we meet though, I'm gonna play against that fucking Len until I run her into the ground!
We were both in pool 2 (aka: the kiddy pool), and through my coaching he realized I knew his main, C wLen. We ended up having to play and he counterpicked with H Len, who I have absolutely no exp with. It was a completely free win for him.Hello all. Nah, he just abused his aerial priority to beat out my patticakes. j.c and j.2c all day.
welcome Dintrao :V
LOL Lolisauce. I was actually kinda nervous when I picked H-Len. I didn't feel like my Wlen was performing very well so I decided to switch characters. Didn't think my Len would do that well though ;). The only thing I learned from some japanese Len players is that some of them spam j2c, so I gave it a shot.
But yeah, look forward to playing you again!
Also, welcome Dintrao! Glad to see another Len player!
Welcome! Another member for the loli brigade, heh. Quite a sympathic one, too.To quote a H pic I saw once of Princess Ruto from Zelda 64, upon learning the birds and the bees...
Doesn't mean I'm into loli.
Wait.
Wait, this goes the wrong way.
Yo Zieg, you don't have to censor out swear words. We're pretty chill here.Vancouver; and I censor stuff for myself haha. I'm not much of a fan seeing myself writing curses. The character threads seem to be dead; I just posted something on one of them.
Also, where do you live? There's a ton of shit in the regional forums (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/regional-community/), so look around there for something near your area.
Flat-chested, delicious wincest fap material--preferably the rich ones with skirts and stuff.
Wait- Vancouver, Washington or Vancouver, Canada? We just had a discussion about this in chat, I fucking swear.Yo Zieg, you don't have to censor out swear words. and anyone who lives in Canada... in Quebec (around montreal that is) give me a shout, would love to play... though it's quebec, frenchies are weird so melty's probably non-existant here....Out of all the quebecois I know, this is the first one who's actually admitted they are weird.
How's the scene? (Assuming you meant MB):
What scene? Seriously.

Hey everyone, I'm Aeph. I'm pretty much a GG/BB player that fell into Melty Blood because of Tsukihime. At this point, I barely play anything besides Melty Blood. I play Ryougi and Ries in AA and Aoko in AC. My local scene is whoever I can drag into playing fighting games, so there isn't much of one.
That said I don't post very much, but I figured I'd say hi anyway.
Hello all! I'm Yandere-chan, but I also go by a few other names here and there....you aren't THE yandere, right? Like, Bell's yandere.
Just starting playing MB recently and have AA and AC. Looking into getting a little more serious about it, but still a beginner. :\
I also play SSFIV and BlazeBlue here and there.
Yoroshiku!
I go by the name Ryofu. I can't say I'm really new to MB, more like a beginner, but I've been trying to play for quite a few months now. A few friends of mine have been playing for quite sometime now. I've wanted to get better, but I'm having trouble finding my groove so to speak. >.< I like Aoko, but learning her is such a problem, and I've tried V-Akiha, but her loop is a killer to do to me, so now I'm working on Seifuku Akiha. (Guess its pretty obvious, I'm an Akiha fan.) So hopefully, I can get better in the next couple of months or so.
Hey welcome ShotS and movezig, hope you enjoy your stay and find players to play with D:Thanks for the welcome.
Where do you live btw ShotS?

I go to UCI, so I can play with you once I head back.
Also Xie hosts casuals at his place once in a while.
I think Devin (I don't remember his account name) lives in Mission Viejo.
Hi, I'm zebdal, I play MBAC with Kohaku and Miyako.Wow, zebdal are you French? I don't think we have anyone from FR yet (that I know of). Welcome aboard.
If anyone wants to play with me online, just pm me.
I have just begun to learn some combos recently, I just need more experience.
so that's why I'm here.
Wow, zebdal are you French? I don't think we have anyone from FR yet (that I know of).I am.
Welcome aboard.Thanks.
Already noticed quite a bit of that. I can't even do her basic 2A 5B 2C 5CC, j.A...C..B, j.AB, j.ABC airthrow. She has muuuch much better combos now. It's just that they're of higher execution requirement.
Idk, maybe they made it not work anymore? Or my execution could just be terrible in my years of not playing lol.
Who should I play in AA? The whole "Groove" system has thrown me for a serious loop, and the only person I was any good with (Nero) seems to be seriously nerfed, and though I read to play him F now, I just don't like it at all.

C-Nero still has EX deer for pressure, H-Nero got bee, and F-Nero got sludge-thing, all of them are still annoying as hell >:(I see GenericSu use that setup all day when he plays C. The difference, if any, must be negligible.
i think in mbaa:cc nero's airthrow got increased recovery so that he can't do EX crow after corner airthrow anymore 8-)
Why is New Jersey so full of melty players? Both coasts are like that for any fighting scene, generally. Nj has a hoooooooj smash community

its a real shame that this game is so unappreciated in the west coast, the game is a thousandfold more balanced and offensive then Blazblue and 3D super turbo
Sup everyone.
DarkLeviathan here. I got into MBAC this past summer, and T started playing MBAA this September since my roommate has access to it now. I main C-Ciel and secondary F-Len.
I'm actually pretty new to fighting games compared to a lot of people I've talked to. I played Super Smash Bros. Brawl a lot a few years ago, and while I enjoy Tekken and Blazblue, I don't play them competitively. Melty Blood is probably the first "real" fighting game that I feel really comfortable playing.
I haven't run into any other Melty players other than a few of my friends online, and two of my roommates who play casually. I'm from New Jersey, which I've heard is a hotbed of MB players, and if anyone is in the Rutgers- New Brunswick area, I'd be down for some friendlies.
Hey everyone, I've been skimming the forums for a while, but never posted before; I'm a huge Type Moon and fighting game fan.
I've played MBAC for a while, but with the MBAA out and starting college, I kind of stopped for a couple years. Since then I've been trying to find a replacement with BlazBlue and SF4, but neither really does it for me. So I finally picked up MBAA (Someone really needs to port this to the PS3, or even PC), not sure who I'm going to try picking up yet.
I'm currently in the UC San Diego area, I've heard there's some fighting game scenes down here, but all I've found nearby are SF4 and Smash. Of course, I might just be failing at looking around X(

Hello!
My name is Aqua! I have recently rekindled my interest in fighting game. I am not really associated with any other large fighter forums.
Still, I do understand almost all of the terminologies used around in this forum from years of lurking during MBAC days!
Speaking of MBAC, I used to be a regular MBAC player. During those days, I played mostly with Koreans, who did have quite an active Melty community. I played mostly Kouma and some Arc. I wanted to play Satsuki, but I could never really get familiar with her.
As for MBAA..... I haven't even played it yet (sorry). I am joining this forum because I will be getting it soon (yay for PS2). I've seen some match videos (thanks to meltybread on youtube) and they certainly look much more hype than Act Cadenza. Can't wait till I get my hands on MBAA!!! Will probably try F-Kouma and C/F-Arc first, since I am used to them (F-Arc seems to play a bit differently but looks awesome).
Local scene.... can't comment much on that since I haven't even started yet. Unfortunately, I know little about mid-Atlantic US (where I live now) melty. This area doesn't seem as hype as Northeast or West Coast, so..... Real life work and study also severely hampers my ability to travel.
Another fighter I used to play was Tekken (Devil Jin), but I am not thinking about picking that up again. 2D > 3D :toot:
I am in MD near greater Washington DC.
I did find a thread from that area in the regions board on meltybread, but it feels like a joke board :slowpoke:.
Thanks for the welcome, ehrik.
@plamya: You're about say, 1 hour away from your closest known competition (Bellreisa). Although the socal scene hasn't been very active lately, maybe Bell will have some gatherings as most people in socal usually meet at his place (they're scattered around Irvine area). Don't lose hope D:
http://www.meltybread.com/forums/regional-community/west-coast-people-not-at-ai/ This thread should be useful
ARRRGH EHRIK YOUR AVATAR GIVES ME AIDS
Hey guys. My name is Izumi. Haven't picked a main yet as I don't have the game yet, but I will soon. I live in SoCal and I'm trying to figure out what the scene down here is like.Unfortunately Socal is too scattered and nobody really wants to commit to driving to Temecula to actually get games. =\ Nobody else apparently wants to hold gatherings or take the time and effort to scenebuild (outside of bell, who's the Temecula guy). You might be able to get sparse games here or there, but chances are it'll be a little difficult.
Welcome and enjoy your stay. Find your location thread on the Regional Community subforum. Unless you're from the South...oop aww....Dammit, I heard Guile from Super Street Fighter II in my head, too.

Hi, I'm sorta new here. I go to Rutgers New Brunswick and I suck at MB, but I'm eager to learn. I just need to find people to play with since I don't actually have the game. :psyduck:
I also play SSF4 and BBCS. If anyone in the area wants to play anything, hit me up.

I've just started going back there over the last month on Wednesdays. Chances are, if you've seen a black guy with glasses playing KOF casually, that's me. ;)

hi everyoneA Ryougi who doesn't play H? Welcome.
I'm new here
to tell the truth, I'm new to Melty Blood and others Type Moon's product.
I play AA not so bad in Ryougi Shiki full moon style, but I play AC like a disaster
btw: my English is not good so if I made any mistake, please forgive me.
Nice to know everyone!
Oh my god, you have Arisato Minato as your nickname. +HEATSTORM!Is there anything wrong with Arisato Minato?
A Ryougi who doesn't play H? Welcome.I don't really into Half Moon stuff. I prefer Full moon (though I can only play Ryougi in that style), and Crescent. I'm going to try C Nanaya and Len and Sion I think.
Not at all <3Oh my god, you have Arisato Minato as your nickname. +HEATSTORM!Is there anything wrong with Arisato Minato?

i main c/h/f nanaya and sub c warc.... yeah i know.
p.s. the "rarely find anyone who knows how to play" bit was definitely not an insult to anyone who says they go to cf to melty. it only means i don't go all that often and when i do find someone to play with they usually don't seem to be interested in the game competitively.
i main c/h/f nanaya and sub c warc.... yeah i know.
...."Yeah you know" what? All of those are legit characters who rely on fundamentals for higher level play. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
No, all the players that play melty at CTF are definitely free, since they don't go out and play people who live near good players by the arcade.
I'm from New Jersey and I am a new player to Melty Blood. I am trying to learn Riesbief as my character.
What's up with all these C-Ryougi players coming out of nowhere. I thought Rei was the only one with the exception of me...................

I didn't meet you Sophomore, but I'll assume you live next to Tony Shiki/The505 as well. Make sure you guys get off the emulator since its input buffer is generally bad, and get a real ps2. Looking to seeing you guys at tourneys and gatherings in the future since you're all from NJ as well

Hi, I'm Jani, 19 years old guy and bassist from Finland. I'm new to this forum, so I'll introduce myself.
I am true 2D fighting game fan and I most like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear and Melty Blood series. I use pad to playing games besides sticks. I own one, but I can't playing at my 100% with stick.
My hobby is ITF* Taekwon-Do and I've practiced now 3 years and got blue belt with red stripe (3. Gup). My previous hobby was basketball and I quited after 5 years of playing it. My basketball mates was calling me always wauhti and I didn't like it at all first, then it is my oldest nickname now :D And also quited to playing in my band called "Eclipsium" and my big sister were leader and drummer in this project. In my free time I'll bicycle sometimes or playing my bass.
Also I'm Co-Leader and best sniper since 2006 in "Tuonelan Legioona" at Socom series and it ranked now European top 7 in Confrontation: Cold Front ladder (http://confrontation.ps3.consolegaming.eu/stats.php?id=2725 (http://confrontation.ps3.consolegaming.eu/stats.php?id=2725)).
And I like watch and read animes/mangas/visualnovels/light novels. There's so many series, what I'll follow (over 40+). My favorite series is TYPE-MOON studio's made (Tsukihime, Kagetsu Tohya, Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, Kara no Kyoukai AKA the Garden of Sinners, Melty Blood)

Hi. Here I'm introducing myself !
I'm 20, soon having my dimploma in computer science.
Well I'm actually a fuc***g noob at Melty Blood. But I'm deeply interested on improving myself and play this game at competitive level.
Story Time : I'm a big fan of Type Moon's works, so I already tried Melty Blood, but just so I knew what it would be like. I did not wish to improve a bit in this game since I'm usually not into 2D fighting games. Something like three days ago, I saw a vid on youtube featuring high level play, and the only thing I could think was "Wow this game kicks some a**", so here I am, wanting to improve on the game. Anyway, I'm just starting it today.
I'll add that I play other games in a competitive way. Super Smash Bros Melee (SSBM) and Pokemon. Melee because this game's so intense, there is so much hype in it, I've never seen this in any other game. And Pokémon... well it rocks. Period xD. In Melee I main Sheik and Marth. And in Pokémon, I play something like Heatran/Rotom-W/Viridium/Gliscor/Scizor/Latios in 5G overused metagame. Play me anytime (well for SSBM, since I'm French, it would be a little difficult) I'm also a big fan of RPG-based games and my favorite one is Final Fantasy VII.
I'm thinking about playing Ryougi or Arcueid in Melty Blood Actress Again.
I've a sooooo very good feeling about this game (hyyyyype), so here I am. Nice to meet you all !
PS : Sorry, my english sucks hard.
Main Arcueid, it will be more difficult and give you stronger fundamentals from the start.
Hello, I just recently started playing MB today (3 hours of practice in total, I must be gdlk now). I have yet to choose a character, but I'm leaning towards Ryougi and VAkiha, so advice would be appreciated.Just play Act Cadenza on netplay.Sure, the game is old..but you will get a free ass kicking. That's how I'm practicing anyway.
I'm in Riverside, California during the summer, and Sonoma, California (1 hour north of San Fran) during the Not-Summer and won't have a car until I land a job. Hoping I can meet some people that live there, cause I somehow doubt I'll get all that far without a scene. :V
Welcome to Melty Bread my friend.
Damn that's crazy. Well you're here so....
Make yourself at home.
By the way, I would like to play competitive but the scene in Argentina is very little (or null) sadly :emo:.Get Act Cadenza and play over caster if you want human opponents.
I'm from Florida and in my city we don't seem to have much of an official Melty scene. I play with about 2-3 friends every Friday night over netplay. I have a wii to usb adapter and use the classic controller and plan to pick up the madcatz tatsunoko vs capcom stick. I like to use Neco Arc Chaos, Hisui, Sion, and Akiha when I play.
I guess you can call me Merem... unless there's already one here >.> I'm a big Type-Moon fan, I've read Fate, Tsukihime, and as much of the Kara no Kyoukai novels got translatedKara no Kyoukai is fully translated, yo.
Kara no Kyoukai is fully translated, yo.Damn... I was reading it on Baka Tsuki. Thanks man. How long has that been around for?

Hi there.
I'm an Arcana Heart player and I'm getting into Melty now too. I know a few faces around here (hi Ehrik, Jimmy, Roku, Comic, Rei, Rayza). Looking forward to learning and growing. :3
Aw, don't be like that Roku. I'm picking up Melty so we can finally play games together. :nyoro:

Hey there melty bread. After about a few months of having an account here but never using it I decided to start getting into MB. I already know some of the people who post here, as I'm from NJ and have gone to many an anime tournament already. However I wouldn't mind getting to know more people in the scene. I can't say who I want to main yet, but it's probably going to be len as I've watched matches with her and quite liked what I saw. Hopefully we'll all get along.

Hope everything goes well for you. You've got quite a number of good players to learn from over there.
PS: Awesome ava.
I need a link to your avatar right now!I guess people from DL come here lol. I stole the avatar from some doujin, simply took a panel and did some mspaint work (I am too poor for photoshop). Props if you get the joke. Also thanks for the welcome!
And ofcourse welcome!

Drop by the rutgers knights threadroku trying to recruit top anime talent
I've been playing Melty for three or four days now. I play F-Akiha.If you did the poster Komidol linked then youre awesome!
Pfhor's all-time favorite anime is Strike Witches, and he's so hyped for the movie.
We've been out here at a convention in Dallas promoting Melty. Although Pfhor's been playing bubble bursting for manchildren (I mean, Smash). Rowan seems to be a great guy. We figured a poster would be good to put up for people to check out. I was so sleep deprived that at point I was just running off the fumes of hype. So at around 4 a.m. I drew up something that took about 30 minutes, if that. So what are you doing to promote the game and why don't you make a poster of your own if you're so artistic? Keep on hating.

I already introduced myself once (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/akiha%27s-tea-room/introductory-thread-%28take-off-your-shoes-please%29/msg21193/#msg21193), but it was so freakin' long ago it probably doesn't matter anymore.
Name used to be DZ, now's Sh1k1. Long time player, long time lurker, all time sucker, and I still enjoy getting my ass kicked in Meltan.
This isn't the Melty Bread I used to know. ;_; Still, progress must be praised and encouraged, so props for upgrading to SMF2.0.
...Fuck I'm old. Though admittedly it feels kinda good to be back.
Now to find someone who wants to kick my ass again on netplay in Current Code...
Hey guys, my name is Bryan and its a pleasure to become part of this amazing community.
I am a big Marvel player and stumbled across this game on youtube one day. I heard it had an anime so i watched it and fell in love with the characters and decided to read the manga and visual novel which im currently doing. Although i play a lot of fighting games i always try to not use top tier characters or the overused. I do not know anything about Arcueid but i have decided to main her just because i like her character very much. I got the game today and im hoping ill be able to learn Arcueid effectively.
Greetings! I am Odda C.
I've had an interest in Melty for quite awhile now, and now I'm really getting my chance thanks to the PC version of AACC. I am a life long fighting game player, with sizable experience in both, 2D and 3D fighters, though my interest in playing at the competitive level (or alternatively, actually getting GOOD at them). I consider myself to be very scrubby at the moment. Bear in mind that I'm also an impatient, neurotic perfectionist, so yeah...
I'm finding Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code to be a really fun, honest game with an interesting system; in fact, I may or may not have already logged more time into it than SSFIVAE, and the PC version of that game has been out for months. With this, combined with all the hype tournament footage I've seen, I've decided I need to learn this game, and connect with its community, hence why I'm here.
Currently maining C-Akiha, having no idea whether or not she's a character a total rookie should be playing. She... clicks with me. That said, I'm fully open to other characters and will be trying them when I inevitably get curious. She's the best character in the game though, seriously. Then again, I have a thing for elegant rich chicks with flat-chests, so bias. :p
If anyone is curious, yes I am Type Moon fan. In fact, AACC has given me a Tsukihime bug.
I look forward to speaking with you all, and contributing what I can.
Welcome to the forum, Sage009 and Revy.
Hello all, I am Elec. Registered here like 3 or 4 years ago when I friend introduced me to MB, and then promptly forgot about it and MB in general. Since I'm actually gonna be entering tournaments and stuff for this game, I figured it would be best to check stuff out and start paying attention. :slowpoke:
I use Satsuki, and in the 2 days that I've played, there have been like 6 different people who are either surprised I main her, tell me that she's tough to use/low tier, or both. Gonna stick with her regardless, because she's fun to use, and this game seems to be pretty balanced.
Not new to fighting games, but at the same time I've also never played any beyond the intermediate level. Entering tournaments(and sticking with one game for once) might change that.
Heya
I'm a newbie who is really more of a Tsukihime player than a fighting game player. The inputs are harder in this game.
I'm in the LA area, recently went to a tourney at FFA. I have no business trying to compete in a tournament, but it was fun to play casuals, get stomped, and see the game played IRL. I hope to go back some weekend when people are playing.
I've been playing for a couple weeks, picked F-Aoko just because she felt sort of natural. Perhaps I should try out some other characters now that I've learned the basics of the game. My fingers are defaulting to using her combo inputs in inappropriate situations, so maybe I need to mix myself up.
If you netplay me, please don't hesitate to tell me why I'm bad. I've already gotten some helpful tips from people in the IRC (thanks). I'm trying to learn how to play from the resources already available, and to lurk to pick up random bits of FG knowledge, but there's bound to be some basic things I'm still clueless about.
*not a girl!
I'm Garrett. I've been around fighting games for a while but never actually really learned then until I decided after watching Kara No Kyoukai I was gonna play Melty Blood. I play F Ryougi and my local scene is at an apartment around University of Texas at Dallas/Richardson. Only been playing a few weeks. :prinny:

Lol k, local apartment. Glad to see you made it onto the forums bro. Nvrngshkrhsrh is a b*itch.
I'm Pandaryu, and I live on the west coast. I've been playing online a bunch, and I run H-Nanaya and C-S.Akiha.
Oooh, looks like I haven't introduced myself yet.H-Nanaya? Nice, I usually use C-Nanaya, but H is awesome too.
Hi y'all!
I'm Pandaryu, and I live on the west coast. I've been playing online a bunch, and I run H-Nanaya and C-S.Akiha. I've been playing fighting games for a while and this game is my favourite at the moment. It's damned awesome; especially since I finished Tsukihime somewhat recently. I hope to acquaint with my local scene really soon.
And hi, Amaro. I'm Raz from Steam. :P
P.S - Working on a Melty Blood arcade stick artwork for a friend, so if anyone is willing to help out me find some high quality images of Akiha and Miyako directly from the game, that would be most appreciated, thanks.
Just in case you don't have the sprites from actress again: http://www.justnopoint.com/ggslash/index.php?id=11
edit:you can download "stage sprites"from this site as well which is pretty neat.
Philippines... you're fucked :/:( 4 delay i think that will be slow as hell n i die very fast i m not very good yet.... anyway i hope there some members from the Philippines playing somewhere looking... i Rilly like to try net play at 1 delay...
I'll fight you since you're an Aoko player, though anything over 4 delay is likely to end in grief.
I am, but South America is a big place, where are you from exactly?
Nice to meet you, my main is C-Warc but sometimes I play other characters like C-Ciel or Miyako-chanclassic
Hello everybody. I'm from southern California and I grew interested in this game after watching some casuals at my local arcade. Haven't decided on who to main yet but C-Arc seems pretty cool.Hey KFL. Welcome to Melty Bread.
We can have C-Arc Dittos KFL. ^-^For sure! I think we may have played each b4 though, lol.
Hi Sai~ I'm a fresh C-Nanaya main, subbing H-Vakiha, and a teensy F-Sion. Looking forward to picking up one of the White Len and Ryougi Shiki moons. Just coming back from maining Hazama in Blazblue, I hope I'm not too late in joining this scene. It does look relatively barren here compared with the other FGCs.ASL?
Welcome, Cresence! If it's local players you're looking for, you might want to post in the Philly thread (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/regional-community/philly-thread-we%27re-in-nec%27s-back-yard/), Regional Community subforum.
Oh hey, I've been playin Melty since ReAct, but I'm still complete garbage at it since the scene over here is either frauds or Street Fighter players. It basically died once Actress Again came out since I was the only one of us with a copy of the game.Nice to meet you
But yeah, I'm like travelling more now so I figured I should get better at Melty since it's a pretty cool game.
I'm basically a KOF and GG player pretending like I can play C-Akiha and C-Aoko.
I get the feeling, coming from the melee scene, of all fighters to choose to enter this fgc scene, I probably picked the least, uh, active? I am actually curious why that is, because it's PC only? because it is stupidly expensive if you don't want the anime ova it comes with? Because this game is too cool for everyone else??Because the same reason nobody in my community will ever even hear about it. It's not Call of Duty, and Fairly Odd Parents is supposedly an anime. "ITS TOO ANIMU 4 ME," and "THE GRAPHICS SUCK MAN."
Hello I'm starchaser just getting back into Melty blood trying to learn to play kohaku. It looks like FL hasn't posted in the regional thread since FEB. If you've got your little scene going on, that's great. Hang in there, it could grow.
Hello, I'm Marcel a.k.a. Kaanturo
My main is Miyako Arima and I am in desperate need of people to play. A group of guys convinced a local arcade to put Melty Blood in their place, and when I went to said arcade, they wanted me to get the game and learn it before Friday [tomorrow]. Now I'm addicted. This is where all of you come in. If anyone wants to play, please, let me know.
Like, now.
Edit: Oh whoops, I forgot location. SoCal, Los Angeles.

Yo. Nice to meecha, Kaanturo.
Name's Numakie. I've been leading the arcade MB scene round the LA area for some time now(kind of unintentionally. haha). Been running stuff at Japan Arcade biweekly, & trying to start up something at Super Arcade.
The SoCal thread is where I post the schedule of when I run stuff:
http://www.meltybread.com/forums/regional-community/socal-melty-cuz-we-so-socal!/
Speaking of MB, I'm making a first attempt to run an event @ TRB for Melty... tonight actually. Hope to see you there.

AAAAAAA I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS SOONER
Also, I was actually talking about Japan Arcade, I was there last Friday, but my friend and I had to leave since the group's table was ready up at Manna. I will be back this Friday, though. Not sure if he got to download it but oh well. The one thing that concerns me a little is that I'm one of those people that still haven't gotten around to buying a fight stick and actually prefers a pad, and the pad slots weren't working if I remember correctly. Still going to try, though [or maybe there's a way we can play off my laptop? I'm never without it anyway.]
Hope to see you there.
hi guys i am turd west coast c miya
yoroshiku :prinny:
Thanks dude manI have no idea if melty is still a thing on here but who knows :^)
There is a fairly active online scene since the online rollback client was released. You can find people to play against on the mizuumi IRC channels (http://mizuumi.net/): #frenchbread and #mbaa
or you can try the lobbies at http://seemeinmelty.meteor.com/
What's up, everybody. I'm Sealophile, a completely new player from SoFlo.
Hey everyone, I'm from NorCal, more specifically Berkeley. I play F-VAkiha most of the time, not very good at all though. I don't really know what my scene is like, Interested in figuring it out!
Hi everybody. I'm MutedSilence (Can just call me Mute for short).
I recently purcshased Melty Blood on Steam and I believe to have found the perfect fighting game for me. I love everything about it and I'm glad to have stumbled upon this community.
I am very passionate and really want to learn the game, I play as Arcueid Brunestud and Aozaki Aoko, I have a very aggresive play style, but am by no means an expert, as I said, I am new to Melty Blood and I am probably what you guys consider to be the noobest of noobism or something lol.
Regardless, glad to be here, hope to learn a lot from you guys.
Technically new player here. I played Melty every once in a while with a friend just to mess around, but I've decided to make a full dive in.
I started playing fighters casually with TvC back in '09, but I started getting really competitive in '13. My main game is Guilty Gear Xrd.
It's cool to be here. Thanks for having me!
