Hi, I'm new to MB.  I'm primarily a 3D fighter kind of guy, but I'm getting into 2Ds with the help of Lord Rabies (if thats his SN on this forum).  I also build custom joysticks.  So hopefully you guys will help me be not so much of a noob.

+1 forum to monitor. yay! A few things about me

<---absolutely terrible in the game. I try to play Akiha Vermilion, but fail hard at it. And I haven't really been able to gather any helpful info on her...so that begs the question: does anyone even play her?

<---too cheap to buy a PS2 and hence stuck in FT till august and my shiny copy of mbac for PC comes in the mail.

<---norcal. Seen a few good players around a couple of times, though can't remember names for the life of me.

There's nothing to fear now.

I also attempt to play Vermilion though my success is about the same as you X_X,  I'm working on a site that will hopefully become "the" place to find any and all information about her so keep an eye out for it ^^

Ahaha, this place looks fun. Simply the name made me want to register immediately XD.

And thus I did, after spending 20 minutes getting a hold of myself and trying not to laugh crazily at a computer.

... Ahh. You guys really brightened up my day. Ahahaha.

Anyways. Hey there, I'm EK made from 99% desu and 1% win. Am from Panama (yeah, where the hell is that place anyways?) and I totally suck at MB. I guess I can defend a little with some but meh.

Nice to meet you all. XD.

I play Vermillion on the M.U.G.E.N. engine, have yet to see if it's any harder on an actual Arcade.

Her air combos = t3h pwn.

(Just realized I double posted by mistake. Sorry.)

MUGEN must die. Play the real game. Download ReAct. Pirate or buy the PS2 version. Preorder the new PC version coming out at the end of July. Do something, ANYTHING, to stop playing MB characters in MUGEN  :psyduck:

Dude, Mugen is just better. It perfectly represents the Melty Blood system and everything. Right down to your character switching with their reflection in the floor.

No way. Your characters switching with their reflections randomly is a feature of MB. It's kind of hard to hit the opponent, but if the move has a big enough hit box...

oh hello new people, I am follow Choco here from IRC :V

Not entirely new to MB, but dedicating some serious time to it for the first time. I know what I do in ReACT probably won't matter all that much when PC AC is here next month, but it's something to do in the meantime, I guess!  :toot:

I doubt M.U.G.E.N. is better than the real thing. Transferring fighting game characters to M.U.G.E.N. changes the experience dramatically, and you have to relearn how to play characters if you switch from it to the character's real game. For instance, I can play Hayato and Jill in Marvel VS Capcom 2 a hella lot better in the real version than in the M.U.G.E.N. version.

That's not to say that Raien Makoto's, 9's, and ‡H's Melty Blood character's didn't pwn, though. They were very well made....

Sadly Chibi-sama, I don't think he's joking.

Of course not! It's just like MB! Right down to

-characters flying off screen and not coming down
-timeouts that take 30 seconds to end the round
-difference in comboing and juggling
-ridiculous amounts of other odd glitches that ruin the match

Oh please. For the love of god. This is an English forum. Don't us Japanese honorifics unless the sentence containing them is completely in Japanese. To go the 日本語BBS section for that sort of thing.

I'm Motoh.  I own minor hobbyists and the rare expert who slips up, but I'm still a nabcake myself.  Picked up Melty Blood on a mix of fighting game habit (SNK mostly) and a love of Type-Moon merchandising that's probably borderline unhealthy.

I live in central missouri against my will.  If anyone can save me or find a MB cab around here, I'll love you forever.
