Me and Numakie play Mahjongg.

We know how to play the traditional 4 player (gambling and non-gambling) rules.

Chinese and Japanese.
Also, I used to play those Mahjongg hentai games at Arcade Infinity when they had them.

Well thats like comparing chess to poker. Both are great games and requires intelligence, but they are different styles of strategy. So its difficult to say which is better in my opinion.

I totally missed the fact that it was. ^_^;;

Anyway, the general way of playing is the cantonese style(hong kong style).
Japanese style is mainly played like cantonese style(with a few variations in rules and sayings).
I found a really good link that has the general explanation for pretty much all styles.

The common 1 player computer version is pretty close to the general way of playing, although I think it goes under the cantonese style with the variations I mentioned earlier. So yeah that about sums it up.

It seems like every goddamn Asian in our school knows how to play Mahjong, and our school has a lot of Asians in it. At the end of the year, some people would bring in Mahjong sets and play. I'd just sit there, look at it, go "What the hell?" and resume stealing school wifi with my laptop.

Just as Hikaru no Go caused a ton of people to start playing Go, I'm sure Akagi inspired many to play Mahjong
