I dunno if this goes here but I figured this could be big news. I live in Palo Alto, CA and was planning an adventure to San Francisco and noticed a little something in the Wikitravel.org site.

Sounded nuts. I ran an estimate on their website, http://www.megabus.com/

Must be a new business in the west coast because I Googled it and this news article is from just a week ago. The Megabus in the east coast has been established since April 2006 apparently.

Getting to EVO World? Probably not as expensive as you thought it could be. I haven't booked my stuff yet but I'll talk to my parents and see if I can go. I really didn't want to ask them to pay for plane tickets at ~200 USD but this might do the trick. I'll update this thread with further information if anything else comes up during my research.

Whoa, this is amazing. A trip from Tempe, AZ to Union Station in L.A. and back again is 10-20 bucks. Means it's gonna be a heck of a lot cheaper to go to West Toasts now : p

Yeah it looks like I might be attending some West Toasts in the future as well. I don't trust being able to go through Los Angeles to Las Vegas on the same day though. (Not with only a 30minute window anyways)

Megabus's current AZ location which is in Tempe is actually closer to us who live in Gilbert/Chandler/Mesa/Tempe than Phoenix. But if there are any Phoenix MB players out there, the coming Phoenix location is definitely awesome.

Okay, I'm strongly considering attending the next West Toast on the 17th to try this service out. I won't ask any of the other Arizonians to head out with me, so this will probably be a solo trip.

What I would need, however, is a commitment from someone on LA. That is, someone to pick me up at my stop on Friday, someone to take me to Simi Valley, someone to put me up for the night or pick me up from a hotel, and someone to drive me back to the bus stop. This is a lot of responsibility, I realize, and I only ask for as much assistance as can be given.

yau is also invited to stay with Desert Coast for Evo World. That will bump us up to 7 people including Choco, Jazz, Q-chu, Tetsuya-san (from SRK), magz, and Dipstick. This is for Friday and Saturday ONLY, and this is totally the wrong thread to mention that.
