Melty Blood: The Sprite Comic
« on: June 01, 2007, 08:27:21 AM »

Dun dun dun....

I spent over FOUR HOURS last night ripping sprites using my M.U.G.E.N program, and it will pay off now.

Sprites were ripped from the M.U.G.E.N Characters they originally came from, so I don't hold any "copyrights" per say, but by technicality, I guess I "own" these sprites now. Regardless:

Legal Stuff:

Melty Blood sprites are owned by French Bread,

Metal Slug Sprites are owned by SNK/Playmore,

Any other sprites from other games will be accreditted accordingly.

Any sprite that I make and/or edit will be credited by me.

There. No more need for credits. Now, enjoy the rest of the comics! (once I get them up, anyway)

Nii-san = brother
Hisui = sister
Shouldn't kohaku be saying Nee-san?
Some shadows on the sprites would be nice too. Anyway looks like it will be a fun read, so keep up the good work.

ARGH.....

My apologies for the mistakes.

What's wrong with Hisui though? That's her name...

And thanks for the replies, I'll see if I can find a way to incorporate shadows into the sprite work. Perhaps even reflections...

basically Kohaku is the older one, and so Hisui calls Kohaku nee-san

if Kohaku was to address Hisui, she woudl eithe address her by her name or Hisui-chan etc...
<@Sp00ky> basically ruu got on the stick and started having sex with heart
<@Sp00ky> and she did impossible shit
<@Sp00ky> and arturo died

Long story. You can kinda say I ripped them myself, but I guess it's more complex than that.

And thanks for the explanation, Zaido. I'll keep that in mind for future strips.

I was going to post them in the sprite section, but they aren't finished, and.... well, there are other problems at the moment. Sorry dude.

I was supposed to make it yesterday, had to go to my cousin's 28th birthday.

I might be able to get it out today, though... I downloaded GIMP a few days ago, so there should be more effects, such as shadows. I'll see what I can do.

Learn english.  If it's supposed to be a joke it fails horribly.

Or did you just learn english from poorly fansubbed anime?

Who the hell are you talking to?

And yes, I have returned, so I'll get back to working on the comic in due time.

And thanks to Chibi-sama (eat that Choco!), Kayin, and ajsuson for the comments.

Whoever wrote the dialog in the third and fourth comics.  Sorry for the confusion.

And what exactly is wrong with the dialogue?

And what exactly is wrong with the dialogue?

The fact that it only would be funny ...

1. in complete Japanese or complete English,
2. wasn't Fandom Wank material (example: even mentioning the author in a positive light in a sprite comic? lol?),
3. didn't use Comic Sans
4. didn't use overused jokes so openly. This is "cute", not "funny".

But don't let my critique stop you. You appear to have a fanbase, so you go on pleasing it, right?

I thank you for giving me actual "Critique" as opposed to bs. However, if I were going for "funny" these first few strips (minus the train) then there would've been plenty of OOC by now. As I thought out the comics, I was wondering how people would react if I DID use OOC for many of the characters. Would they hate me and throw me out of the forums? Or would they laugh?

Also, about comic sans: Have any better ideas for fonts? Preferably free?

Very random, and has nothing to do with the original plot: (I hope)

I hope not to go off topic...

Macampos, where did you get the backgrounds from? I've been searching for them D: The melty blood ones
I ripped these stages from MB:AC ver 2 for the PS2. There are 27 stages there, or some number around there, but not all of them are there. Also, all the stages are like... In pieces. o.O You have to put them together. :-X
http://www.mediafire.com/?5m02d2bshbj

And you can rip some stages from MB: ReAct by downloading susie and the plugin that allows the program to rip from ReAct here:
http://www.geocities.com/lord_phr0zen/bloodstained/downloads.htm

You can also get several for the BGM not on the OST. Though it's on the AC OST... =P

Hmmm... http://bobandgeorge.com anyone?

Hey wait, I like comic sans. :'(
