My shitty music taste:

Chihiro Onitsuka
Hirose Kohmi
Regina Spektor

And then some HALCALI, BENNIE K, Tenmon piano music, YUKI, m-flo, Hitomi Yaida, Bonnie Pink.

Agreed on Pendulum. Not sure if I like their post-In Your Colour works as much, but that one, at least, is great.

Other bands potentially worth listening to:

- Excellent Progressive Rock. Wonderful lyrics, too. Forget the fact they look like hair metal, this is totally different stuff folks. They got it all - good guitars, excellent rhythm, and great lyrics. Their albums are thematic, too.
- Their music can be best described as stuff you'd hear in horror movies and/or haunted amusement park rides, to the point where the band will actually allow these places to use their music in exchange for putting up posters. They also did the official 2003 Dungeons & Dragons soundtrack.
- One of the best Hard Trance artists I've ever heard. He goes by YOJI now apparently, but I think this other nick of his was cooler.
- Five Words: The Seduction of Claude Debussy. Listen to it. Now.
- Despite being born in the mid 1980s, I grew up on stuff like classic rock. I love it just as much as I love modern rock.

The only thing I listen to from her is "Promise" because that meme is still awesome.

There is not a damn thing that is bad about danmaku lolis. I listen to a good amount of danmkau loli renditions.

Now, aside from the danmaku loli songs I listen to, my favorite groups would have to be:

L`arc~en~Ciel
Janna da Arc
Tatsh
Stuff played by Marasy8 (note this is not original music, but performed and goddamn is this guy a god)
Guns N' Roses

Everyone should recognize Chihiro Onitsuka (鬼束ちひろ) anyways. Whether you like it or not, she's like the best singer I've heard in terms of actual vocal ability besides like Luis Pavarotti.

Hirose Kohmi might be iffy, but she's really a good overall classic singer. Just avoid Promise, not because it's a bad song, but it will severely skew your impression of her singing because of its meme status, and the fact that it doesn't represent most of her music. If you just look at what Chihiro/Kohmi have covered, it might give an idea of why I like them: music that's significant but fairly underliked today and not pop music that doesn't last very long. Chihiro's covered Patti Smith's Because of the Night, Jewel's Foolish Games, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Aerosmith's Dream On, while Hirose Kohmi has done Ootsu Yoshiko's ここに幸あり, Hammond Albert's It Never Rains in Southern California, Basia's Cruising for Bruising, Southern All Stars' いとしのエリー, and Stefanie Sun's 天空.

Also if you started listening to HALCALI after their Naruto song then I will be upset. They've barely even made any music since then, and their last single's sales aren't even ranked on Oricon at all.

The only thing I listen to from her is "Promise" because that meme is still awesome.

I personally think that's one of her worse songs, and it's not really like anything else she does.

I guess it was, sorry if I'm disappointing you, but I never watched the series so lol. My friend had merely given me that one song and I had liked it, looked up the rest of their songs and liked those a lot as well. Though this was of course a while back (maybe a year or so?) and I remember being a bit saddened when most of their later stuff began to feel more like pop than their other songs (Tandem, Giri Giri Surfrider, etc.); not that pop is bad, but, eh.

:c So, sorry for finding them late? lol

I see Gekkou.

And I have a few old X-Japan songs. None of the rock, though, just like Endless Rain and Say Anything. Don't listen to it any more, though. The only X-Japan song I have is the orchestral version of KISS's Black Diamond, and that wasn't played by X-Japan.

I've been just listening to random artists I haven't listened to in a while now. Went through YUKI's last album for a few weeks, which is pretty brilliant IMO (it reminds me of the weird musical progression that JUDY AND MARY used when they were still a band), and then like the Regina Spektor album Far, and now I'm listening to my old BENNIE K music. I'm sort of waiting for their next album with Becca, but I'm not expecting much so I don't know; they seem to have fallen off since 2007 or so.

YUKI's last album うれしくって抱きあうよ is brilliant btw. It really reminds me of old YUKI/JAM music.

Hrmm..
To start Yousei Teikoku

Otherwise..
Nightwish
Also like techno or opera or classical depending on my mood

You could be my music BFF.  Seriously.

Nightwish was my favorite band until I discovered Yousei Teikoku (Last Moment, Wahrheit, Pray in the Darkness, Valtica and Alte Burg are my absolute favorites).  Nightwish fell off my radar after Tarja was replaced by Annette, mostly because she (Annette) doesn't really give the same feel to the songs that Tarja did.  Still love their older albums though.

Used to be really into old school rock/metal (Bon Jovi, Queen, Guns 'n Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Def Leppard, etc.), but I don't find myself in a mood to really want to listen to those anywhere near as much as I used to.

Big fan of compositions and songs by Toshiyuki Omori, Jun Maeda, Togoshi Magome, and Shinji Orito.

Obligatory fan of Daisuke Ishiwatari.

Random Japanese singers I'm a fan of: Kotoko (no idea why), Sachi Tainaka (love her voice), and Lia (ditto)

Random songs that I absolutely love: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Katayoku no Tori, Shiroi Kisetsu, LeMU -Haruka na Lemuira Tairiku-

Random bands/groups I like: Trans Siberian Orchestra, The Crystal Method

Assorted anime/game/visual novel music tends to make its way into my playlists, but as there really isn't any consistency to it as far as composers go (not counting those already listed, anyway), and there are far too many to list, this is all the mention they get.

I'm not a fan of most current American music at all due to most songs having (imo) fairly boring/uninspired melodies, bands being too heavily dependent on vocalists who can't back up that dependency, and instrument choice (synthesized or otherwise) practically being uniform.

More music.  All songs I post are from my favorite's playlist on random.  It has a little over 1500 songs right now, but I'm still in the process of reclaiming lost music from a massive harddrive failure 2 years back.

Toy Box - Wizard Of Oz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW5VWSnven4)    (This song's probably about molestation)
Oingo Boingo - It's a Dead Man's Party (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UbGtjnluyY)    (Danny Elfman, why you so godlike?)
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6U_bqIMkI4)    (A happy music is fine too)
Infanity World (Serial Experiment Lain) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsPLBQfZQ04)    (I love the quote, "Last night's dream was an unbelievably real one. I'm just sleeping.")
Ed Alleyne-Johnson - Oxford Suite 1st Movement (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5NYfFjjRzU)    (Electric violin + looper = one man orchestra.  Godlike)
John Mayer - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX-nuY9LJAs)    (This happens to be my favorite song of his)
Gang Starr - The Moment Of Truth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4riCUJ3l6Lk)    (Like the description says, real talk in this song.)
UI-70 - 神さびた古戦場~ Suwa Foughten Field (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXymUMjEhwQ)    (UI-70 makes some mad good Touhou metal remixes)
Calvin Harris - Acceptable In The 80s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhUcSbbURyc)    (What wasn't acceptable in the 80's?)
Moxy Fruvous - Spiderman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYh7x9UX0vI)    (I should get more of Moxy Fruvous' music)

I feel like my shit's not weeaboo enough compared to everyone else's music (cept Shinobi, who's straight gangsta).  lol

As expected. Excellent taste in groups. Sucks that they lost Sakamoto Maaya, I love her singing.

Hmm yes but the current cast is splendid. Last week I finally received Red Moon and I like, love Yami no Uta. It's awesome. They sure know what's good. Well, Yuki does. And hell I joygasm at Keiko's deep voice.

And yeah, finally someone listening to Peter Gabriel. Kudos.

Now listening to BENNIE BECCA.

Surprisingly not bad, but Becca is definitely a worse singer than Yuki. It still sounds like BENNIE K though, because Cico is still rapping.

Streaming my playlist, connect to it here with your media player at: http://hasuko.merseine.nu:8000/hasuko or via web at: http://www.foxdentech.com/radioflash2.html

If I'm AFK, and you need to find a song that is either currently playing, or just played, you can check my last.fm at: http://www.last.fm/user/gekkouchou as it will show everything that's been played.

EDIT: It's up for the foreseeable future, as I'm going to be out most of today. Enjoy the random mix.
