There's a lot of music that I listen to, but I don't buy everything they make. I'd much rather buy singles these days, if I can help it.
I don't know if other people share this mindset, but I don't really listen to 'everything' a particular artist puts out. Entire albums don't excite me anymore. Instead, I like listening to one or two or three particular songs over and over. The uh, "pop hits" I guess (lol). I guess this stemmed from my disappointment from buying CDs, as there'd usually be a select few good songs, the occasional gem that wasn't featured or heavily promoted, and a slew of garbage 'filler tracks' as per request from record companies.
Oh. That'd probably the other thing I dislike about albums: that detestably plastic manufactured process artists have to go through for their record companies. But that's a whole other issue.

Yes, but yours is probably a MP3/Ogg soundtrack. And doesn't loop forever. Whereas the SNES version is a teeny, tiny, 105k and the Genesis version is a bit over half a megabyte. :)
Plus the game never had an official soundtrack so any sort of soundtrack would have had to come from the game itself, anyway.

Pop shit that's listenable: 6 songs
Pop shit that's listenable in her 2010 album: 5 songs
Complete j-pop garbage: everything else
Number of people I've seen actually talk about her 1999-2006 music: 0
Number of people who talk about her 2007+ music: 5 page thread on an Ai Otsuka forum
Worst offense: 鐘を鳴らして (theme from Tales of Vesperia) in an album
Even worse offense: Ring a Bell (English version of the theme) in the same album as a bonus track
This is exactly why I hate otaku shit's influence on music. I don't give a shit when people like Utada or Ayumi Hamasaki make complete garbage and get paid way too much, because I don't respect them anyways and don't care about their music, but when a respectable creative songwriter like Bonnie Pink does a single song for some sort of otaku thing that blows up, they turn into complete garbage because suddenly everyone wants to listen to the singer for that crap. Her 2010 album is better, though. At least it shows signs of her going back to stuff more like her 1999-2006 music.

Aw man, that's terrible. I used to love the old school Bonnie Pink albums. I used to own Heaven's Kitchen and Evil and Flowers until they were stolen out of my car. They were good stuff. It's a shame what happened to her, but hey, that's why we have her old stuff to remember her by. Times change and so do people.

All of us listen to Melty background music, of course, while playing the frigging game. MBAA music is on decent side, you gotta admit.
My taste in music is quite random, kind of shows how different I can be under different moods.
First of all, real Asians from Asia can't really be weeaboos (perversion of wapanese = white japanese), so I won't refer to myself as such :V. I don't really listen all that much to anime themes anyway. Most of them are pretty overrated (applies to many music pop celebrities, ugh. What Ultima66 wrote has A LOT of truth).
Japanese artists that I do actually like:
kalafina (did music for Kara no Kyoukai and other animes, unique and great harmony), YUI (I like her strong yet clear voice)
Other than these, I listen to classical, techno, German rock, and retro video game musics (for nostalgia values).

Also it doesn't really matter what weeaboos like or don't like. It's just the whole "pop music" thing (in Japan and America) causes tons of people to say singers are good just because they're popular. It's the same problem with people who think Melty Blood/Guilty Gear/Blazblue are amazing because of storyline, every fighting game except for Street Fighter 4 is bad just because SF4 is so popular, CoD:MW2 is the best FPS of all time, etc. The companies that make those games are fine doing what they do, but it becomes a problem if say Blizzard just stopped making SC2 and Diablo III entirely to work on WoW more just because it has more players, which is what happens to Japanese artists that make some popular otaku thing and suddenly make a lot of money.

I'd call Karp a weeaboo, and he's born and raised in Hongkong. If you aren't Japanese, but you are mad into Japanese stuff, that's weeaboo to me.
Plus it's funny calling an asian person weeaboo and seeing them get flustered over it.
