Where are my retries?
« on: February 21, 2009, 03:27:56 AM »
Well I've noticed the default retries are 2 and can be set to 4 or 0, but no matter what I do the amount of retrys the story mode gives me is always 0, just a short sequence then game over after losing, this is getting really frustrating so does  anyone have any solutions to let the game actualy deliver what it offers in the options menu?

Thanks for any answers (didn't think it should go in tech support since its an in game problem not having trouble setting the game or pad up sorry if it should be there)

Edit: Never mind found a work around, just have to exit to title when about to lose, feels a bit like an exploit but if the system in places isn't working I don't see a reason not to do so.

You don't get retries if you play Nero.

You don't need retries if you're competent.

Well I don't see a story mode on Act Cadenza either lol.

Was talking about reACT (didn't think I needed to mention it because act cadenza doesn't has a story mode and if it was for arc casda I would have posted it in the arc casda board)

Also in responce to the competant remark, regardless of how "competant" you are G Akiha, who's health regenerates thanks to unlimited magic circuit, who does lots of yellow damage with each attack and who is completley inmmune to arc drives is goinng to kick most people's asses the first few times I'm guessing.

The way to victory is jC jC jC jC against GAkiha. Try to airdash and doublejump to connect 3 jCs at once and watch out not to be tsundere'd.

Damn, yeah. From now on I just edit my posts, not reply anymore >=D

Act Cadenza does have a story mode; it's called 'Arcade Mode', but I tought there might be some confusion because that's where all the story in the game is.

Nah, in ReAct there was an arcade mode and also a story mode.  The story mode had an interesting branching storyline that you could get multiple endings through.  It was all pretty sophisticated for a fighter story mode and I really wish they'd bring that back (along with the blood, seriously wtf at taking that out of a game called melty blood).

If you have Final Tuned, you can change other options by holding D and selecting the options menu. With that, you can have 4 additional jumps or air-dashes in a fight or you can set the Critical Hit ratio to 100% and make the damage a 1-hit KO. Helps in story mode.

Seriously, they do need to bring back the Story mode. Getting all the paths in ReACT was about half the fun of the game.

How does Melty Blood link to Tsukihime in terms of the plot, or is the former just a spin-off of the latter?

Supposedly the events in Melty Blood take place 1 year after the events in Tsukihime. Which route in Tsukihime however, is unknown. Signs show that it's after Arcueid's or Ciel's Good Endings but then Shiki knows of what happened to Satsuki when it only happens in the Far Side of The Moon routes. It's safe to say that MB's a spin-off sequel I guess...

It's supposed to be after Satsuki route, except Satsuki route doesn't actually exist.

It isn't in the Tsukihime remake?  :psyduck:

It wasn't announced when MB was created and I doubt they planned it at the time. They just sort of said "let's call this Sacchin route so we can have all the characters and leave details for later."

This. that and I believe saying it is the 'official unofficial' Sacchin route was to make it up to everyone who was upset about Sacchin not having an actual route.

Either way, a Satsuki route would be pretty awesome.

I think it would be kind of cool if they made an anime following the sacchin route to go with the re-release.

Especially if they had someone actually competent do it.  I look forward to (hopefully) seeing more ufotable + typemoon collab.

Also, I like to think that there actually was a Sacchin route, but it was just to sad and they felt it better left out.  This is mostly because Sacchin is one of the few non-lolis that I daww over.

It was going to be put in Kagetsu Tohya as a bonus, but they cut it to make room for more important things (read: Shiki raping Hisui and Kohaku).
