Your personal GOTY 2007.
« on: December 23, 2007, 03:38:33 AM »
So the year is nearly over and it's time for a summary. A summary of you personal Game of the Year.

Which one impressed you most? What was the most entertaining game? All those questions I want you to answer if you list a game here. =3

Of course the 1st place is
Melty Blood - Act Cadenza

Call me a fanboy, but this game rocks harder than everything I ever owned. It's the fastest, most dynamic, most tactical fighting game I know. The animations, the sprites, the graphics in general. Also I like the OST and the sound effects of this game. I was able to spend lots of nihts playing against friends and the netplay patch is the manifestation of my wettest dreams :psyduck:
My personal Game of the Year 2007.

I can't wait for Actress Again.

The 2nd place is
The Witcher

Why? Well, not only because of the genius story of Andrzej Sapkowski or the hype made around it... The Witcher is a solid, entertaining Action RPG, which can let forget you lots of bored nights (if you have time, of course).
The graphics are amazing for the NWN2 engine, the epic soundtrack (and when I say it's epic, it IS epic, goddamnit!), the main character Geralt, the fighting system and the possibility to choose from different moral choices which result in different consequences.
All this aspects grant another GOTY 2007. Though MBAC is first. :V

At least write WHY the games you listed are your favorites. More than 2 sentences would be nice =3

Tactics WOTL as well.  I missed Tactics the first time it came out, and I'm getting drawn into it the same way everyone did when it first hit the world:  A magnificent story, engaging gameplay with good replay value, and gorgeous artwork.

well motoh pretty much summed up why i like tactics, plus it gets away from stereotypical ff plots, the main character isnt some moronic emo kid, plot twists around every turn, you cant tell what character is good or bad, etc etc.

persona 3 was great because it had an extreme amount of customization, hundreds of hours of sidequests and subplots. great music and art direction, enjoyable characters that had more than two personalitys, an interesting battle system which gives nostalgic feelings of old school rpgs, a rather large difficulty leap and the fact that even though the game could be easy, any small mistake could mean the end of the game.

1. Portal -
Portal was very innovative and even more fun. The ability to conserve momentum and fling yourself across rooms simply by falling was really fun. It also has some amazing dialogue. GLaDOS ranks up there pretty high on my list of top villains ever and the boss fight itself is rather interesting in concept. Plus it has quite possibly the best end theme ever.

2. BioShock -
I want a bottle of BioShock water... because that shit looks better than REAL water. The graphics are pure amazing, the story is brilliant and Big Daddies put a new name and face to the words "OMFG". The gameplay is upped a bit from your typical first person shooter with three different types of ammo for all guns and the ability to alter your genetic code to allow you to shoot fire, ice, electricity, insects, etc. from your left hand. And when all else fails, wrench it out.

Fantasy Star: TTEOT - I love RPG's and the game was a nice break from Final fantasy.
Also, the graphics were great and the story line was amazing.

I take it back Crimsonland is not number 2 it can be 3.

Portals - I agree, even though the game was short and the cake wasn't great.
It was fun as hell and very unique. Its only downfall was how easy and short it was.

Crimsonland - Hell yes, Just go play it. Take GTO2, remove the cities.
Add monsters and a shit load of wepons and power ups. And you have an amazing game.

Better?  :V

1st MBAC: due to the fact that i love BEU(Beat'em Up) and the various aspects of this game, made to put it on the top the game of the year, imo ofc ;) Its a very tactical BEM, fast, ridiculously good and very fluid  :toot:

2nd WoW: yeah im addicted to this MMORPG, played the oldies(but rocking)WC III and FT. U all know the game so i wont talk bout it :P But itz z best MMORPG so far.

3rd FF XII: im a fanboy of FF series ;) playing since FF 7, which i havnt finished...yet :P To me FF X and XII r the best of all the games in the series, the improved combat style, no more random battles, makes it to look alike a MMORPG! Aint zat cool?!  ;D

4rd Resident Evil 4: last but no the least...the best of all RE imo ;) new graphics, playing style fluid and addicting. The enviroment of terror is well 'carved' in the game...spooky :P

1) MBAC PC - It's Melty.
2) GGXXAC PS2US - It's Guilty.

The end.
