MBAACC V-Akiha
« on: August 12, 2010, 04:11:19 PM »
Changes:

Crescent:
JC - Ground Untechable, No cancels from air hit
AD - Untechable time increased
AAD - Untechable time increased

Full Moon:
JB - Duration decreased
AD - Untechable time increased
AAD - Untechable time increased

Half Moon:
J236B - Start up faster
5A6A - Prorate stronger (Universal half moon nerf)

So Crescent is finally an relevant option now. Half moon is still the same. I doubt the decreased duration of jB will hurt Full moon's game either. I consider all 3 moons playable, with quite different play styles.

Oh man, the Korean player is really rocking Crescent's mixups, it reminds me of Sato in the MBAC days. Crescent's ribbons are a reason to choose her against characters with better zoning, as Lucifer did.

I haven't gotten around to those yet but I need to. Whenever I see a nicovideo link I have a 4 step process.

1. Sigh heavily.
2. Cringe at the thought of taking any sort of measure to go about loading the video.
3. Wish it was on youtube.
4. Watch it anyway.

I'm in phase 2 atm, I'll get there sooner or later.

C being a real character :D

I heard pit was slightly buffed too, don't quote me on it though.

things i want to know:

-j.B nerf is only for FM-vakiha right? i'd be really sad if CM & HM j.B were nerfed D:
also glad to know that 5a6aa dmg nerf is across the board and not just vakiha

-there was talk before about 623b and 6C getting proration (i.e. combo dmg nerf) as well. is that true? and also HM ground 236 series didn't get buffed? o.O

edit after watching above vids:
-it seems that the increased proration from 5a6aa is really significant, HM-vakiha's fullscreen momiji loop starting from 2a can't even break 4k now :(

-vakiha's distance from opponent after airthrow has been increased (and possibly slightly decreased recovery as well). its possible to do BE214B after airthrow now without getting punished by dps (see http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11727425 0:41).

-also http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11727425 -> seems like lack of anti-a armor is bad, at 7:11 FM-shiki apparently managed to get a double counterhit with 5a against HM-vakiha's j.c

-HM-vakiha's j.236b seems to keep her aerial momentum ala CM-vakiha's j.236a. basically they just replaced the flame-tongue with a flame-orb :D

6C damage nerf was Arcade > Original balance.

I thought C had something shitty with B momiji (in arcade and original) but I don't know offhand.

Yeah, I beleive it's just F. H & C's jB is hardly nerf worthy.

According to framedisplay, in MBAA the B Momiji is the same for H and C. There also is no difference in 6C's between moons and versions. The difference is in B Momiji for H & C (nerf) :

arcade MBAA
hit 1: 400 dmg (100 red) 100 proration
hit 2: 400 dmg (100 red) 100 proration
hit 3: 600 dmg (300 red) 100 proration
hit 4: 600 dmg (380 red) 100 proration

console MBAA
hit 1: 400 dmg (100 red) 100 proration
hit 2: 400 dmg (200 red) 100 proration
hit 3: 500 dmg (400 red) 100 proration
hit 4: 500 dmg (400 red) 70 proration

Dreals less damage, more red life damage and ends with 70 proration.

EDIT: WTF, there's something wrong with the videos of the Korean player. When I play them there's this silly music and some text + voice, but no video. For all parts. Other videos work fine.  :mystery:

Nope, it seems the video has been removed.  :'(

I've updated the first post with some more videos. The player names are a guess from playstyle/color/commentator speech. If there are any errors, please correct me.

In the above video, the player lands this on Hisui:

jc counter 2a5c4c5a6aa 2c623b 4c623b 4c2c623b 4097 damage

Doing the exact same combo in MBAA I get 4880. It seems the 5a6aa nerf really hurts the damage output.  :emo:

More videos from Tougeki qualifiers featuring Hato (H/F):

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11757640

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11758965
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11759689

First video confirms Half's fullscreen Momiji loop damage is 4k even from jc 2a starter. Later Hato manages 4.6k in the corner including 5a6aa with a jc 5c link.

I'll be rooting for Hato/Leo at Tougeki, hope they make it!  :toot:

EDIT: They made it! Also Kou is back to Vakiha!

I'm not very familiar with F-VAkiha, but this looks like a nice cobmo I haven't seen before. It seems the smaller stage makes it possible.

yeah the screen has been scaled down a lot in MBAA. it's a little bigger than how it was in MBAC now. a good change imo. it's reminiscent of the full screen momiji loop on ciel in MBAC

In the Fuusui vs Ashie set, Ashie uses C-VAkiha. Includes some mid loop pit setups.

623c 22c 2a2c623b has been around since MBAC.

Something more interesting you can do is if you 623c from midscreen and it doesn't bring them completely in the corner, for a moment you end up in front of them (closer to the corner). If you cancel into 22c and set it up like this, you can also catch them with 2a2c and go into sideswap combo to keep them in the corner. However, since the pit is set up the other way around, when it ignites it pushes them towards you. Good luck to your opponent guessing how to block then. >:D Also not entirely new, but cool nonetheless.

Btw, about the videos of Lucifer that got deleted from Nico a while back: I found some of them in CL's youtube channel (nick here is Ruciper xD). There are 3 of them from the tournament and some previous ones against CL. Sadly, none of them feature him playing as C. Damn, he did some crazy mixups! If someone finds them, share please!

Half/Crescent, player: Lucifer (Korean I believe, very interesting/strange playstyle)
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11727251
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11727425
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11727629 (note savage mixup @ 1:30 and 6:10)

i found alternate ups of these vids (the ones in Funky's post above mine are actually of mbaa ver.A), you can google "mbaacc 루시퍼" or:
http://www.mgoon.com/view.htm?id=4051164
http://www.mgoon.com/view.htm?id=4051138
http://www.mgoon.com/view.htm?id=4051141

unfortunately part 1 isn't there, but there's part 2-4; part 4 doesn't feature Lucifer, but since its there might as well include it anyway
Lucifer's good, about the only criticism i have is that he needs to stop doing 5a6aa loops, dosen't he know that the increased proration on it actually reduces his total combo damage?  :mystery:

Awesome! I've been looking for these for a while! +Heat

5a6aa looping is indeed excessive, simpler variations are more efficient damage wise, but grant less meter. Showoff. :bleh: Crescent 623c 22c mixup the gdlkness!  :fap:
