- Avermedia Live Gamer Portable using HDMI. If you're playing on a laptop you just need to duplicate the display, otherwise with a monitor you get the card's HDMI output to the monitor. Can't really tell you if it adds delay or not, never measured it.
- Using another console intended capture card with composite video input: get a VGA>composite adapter and a p2>RCA cable for the sound, and maybe a VGA splitter. May add about 6ms 35ms video delay depending on hardware. Same may be possible with RGB.
- Using PC's internal capture card: another option but can't tell you anything about it, never seen one done in front of me.

These might help you understand the process:

When you mean adapter, do you mean just a cable with a VGA end and a composite/RGB component end? If that is the case, do you know of a capture device that accepts "component" as RGB input?

I know a lot of TVs and whatnot actually receive component input as YPbPr, and I guess capture devices may run into this problem as well.
I mean something like this: http://pctvcables.com/vga-to-rca-composite-pc-to-tv-converter.html
Most of the cables dont have great compatibility or are not intended for a broader use.

I think you're right, when I said RGB I actually was refering to YPbPr. Can't really say much about that, but if you ask me the best option is the LGP (assuming you'll always have at least one setup with HDMI output).

Yup, also just remembered that El Gato accepts HDMI too. I have a LGP and I can test delay if you guys want.

Well, my results came out a little fuzzy. I've tried using this test (http://tft.vanity.dk/) and took some pictures and video, which can be seen in the attachments and link below:
http://www.mediafire.com/watch/e1rj7n3amznc1fl/20140101_081334.mp4

My monitor is a Samsung S23B550 so take into account it should have something like 11ms of input lag by itself, or maybe more. From looking at the pictures and video the awkward conclusion is that the monitor varies from 0 to 30ms delay compared to the laptop display. The fact that sometimes but not always the monitor is actually on par with the laptop display puzzles me but hey, technology right? That translates to about 0 to 2 frames behind which is pretty acceptable imo.

Also I've tried to practice some C-Kouma sweep loops while switching my focus and I did not feel anything wrong, but that proves absolutely nothing.

Btw, I was wrong about the VGA converter adding 6ms, the number was actually 35ms.
