Melty Blood Act Cadenza on the go.
« on: February 23, 2009, 09:01:13 AM »
I am like a megagamer, so I like taking all my games with me wherever I go.  So my problem is I can't get my Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver. B with the English patch running.  What I did was take my Main folder with all the information and placed it on my flash drive.  When I got to my school and plugged it in and clicked the .exe I got an error saying that I Need To put in the DVD and press retry.  But even with the DVD in the drive it won't run.  It also says something about a certification error.  So I am guessing that I am doomed and gameless until I get some help.

You'd have to install it first.  Registry info and such.

But that would be the problem, the schools computers don't allow anyone to install anything.  Which that is why I am thinking there has to be a way around it.  I have even used the no CD-crack it doesn't seem to work either, maybe because it is the English version that I copied.

Could you try installing it again on your computer at home and setting the install location to the memory stick rather then program files?

Might be worth a try

Bullshit, all of you. Mysteryman, there clearly is something wrong on your end, because after installing and patching with the english patch, I have my game on my external hard drive and can play it anywhere I plug the drive in.

MBAC works fine on my flash drives.

Both of them.

No, there is nothing wrong with my head.  This is really the first time I have had this type of problem with a game.  But I will try installing it directly on my Flash Drive, then using the English patch test it out over at the school and see if it works.  Later on:  Well, it works in Japanese, I will try putting on the English patch later.  It turns out it must have been the part where I just took the whole folder and moved it.  So far so good.

I tested it myself before. It wouldn't work if I had it installed on my computer and I moved the folder to a flash drive. I don't know what makes it work or not work, but it wasn't working correctly for me.

Alright, now I took it back home and installed the English patch.  (Back at the school again)  Mysteryman2000:  Holy snicker doodles!  Turns out the reason why it will not run is because of the English patch.  I'm guessing when you install the English patch something else changes and the Melty Blood program can only be used on the computer you used the English patch on.  So I think it is reasonable to say, "If you want to play your Melty Blood Act Cadenza game anywhere using the flash drive you can't install the English patch."  But it is not to say that this won't work still on external hard drives.  There is a difference between there programing, but I think if you have a external hard drive it should be okay to run the program anywhere with the English patch.  Since I do not have an external hard drive that I can take around that can't be confirmed.  Hard drives run on NTFS or something close to it.  Flash drives usually run on FAT32, I think this is what makes the difference when you want to run the program anywhere.  Now the only problem is Hamachi unfortunately.  The only thing that I wish U3 to do is make Hamachi for it then I would be set.

Again, Mystery, I call bullshit. I have the game COPIED from my hard drive installation to an external hard drive AND a 4GB thumbdrive WITH the english patch applied, and I play the game everywhere I go.

And my external HDD is formatted in NTFS, and plays just as fine as the thumbdrive (in FAT32).

Once again, excuse me, but you must have done something wrong.
