EDIT2: Oh! good you didn't delete the thread yet. The problem has come back!
short: I've allowed all traffic in both directions for mbcaster.exe and mbacpc.exe but I still can't host.
I'm getting a positive with option 8.

Any suggestions, even silly ones, are welcome.

You're getting the OK, yet hosting isn't working?  Wow, that baffles me.  Are you sure you're hosting on the right ip?  I don't see how someone could mess that up, but I'm pretty much at a loss for what could be the problem.
