MBAACC input lag
« on: August 04, 2011, 06:28:38 AM »
I've been trying to get rid of the input lag; I have a lagless monitor and the latest Sega JVS I/O board.

Does anyone know if any of the dip switches on the RingWide will help?

I have a RingWide board with CC installed and running. But it has input lag.

Maybe the arcades just have input lag, but it would be nice if I could get rid of it.

Also I've been trying to get in contact with the SoCal guys to see if their setup has input lag.

Are you sure it isn't the change in input buffer common to the arcade version?

iirc arcade is 8f while console was 12f, you have to input things faster. I remember when I tried out CC at FFA I had to do that to make things come out.

No it's definitely input lag, the players here have all noticed it. Feels like 1 or 2 frames.

For example jumps have noticeable startup when compared directly to the PS2 version.

Although Sana and I have gotten used to it already.

I can tell you for sure there's a significant difference between the normal current code and v1.05 buffer.  It's not input lag, or even slower (even though it sure does feel that way at first).  Though, it's not a matter of speed at all.  It's just that with the new buffer everything is tighter.  So if you input something, there is a certain amount of frames you need to wait before you can input again.  That's what it means to have a smaller *input buffer*.  It doesn't sit and absorb a million inputs and go to the next thing.  I can play the CC cab at my local arcade and it almost feels like PS2, but v1.05 is much different.

There is probably nothing wrong.   Mash less.  :teach:
