I'm not sure why, but I keep getting this really annoying error when I try to connect to a game with netplay (see attachment). My friend also gets it when he tries to connect to games I host.

As far as I know, I've opened all the required ports, as have the people I attempt to connect to. This is honestly a bit frustrating, so any help would be appreciated.

Both using ver. 1.3.0? Usually that's the prroblem.

If yes, using anti-virus? How's the firewall? Maybe you couldnt properly open the doors, have you tested it? http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/

I also got a similar error when I played online. The other times there has been a lot of delay, making it basically impossible to play. So, aside from turning off the firewall and antivirus, are there any other important factors to consider that could improve netplay? Also, in terms of delay, are there a lot of differences between playing in a regular computer and a laptop?

Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

Ping affects delay.
Ping fluctuation + hardware affects FPS.

Whether you're on a desktop or a laptop will not affect delay.
Launching the game through MBAACC tool helps reduce the delay.
