PS3 Sixaxis Controller In Windows
« on: November 01, 2007, 12:34:10 PM »
Hey peeps, was wondering if anyone uses or knows how to get the sixaxis controller to work properly in MBAC, i found the drivers for the controller and windows has successfully detected the controller and all the buttons work correctly in the  "game controllers" in the windows control panel.
The problem that i'm having is MBAC does not seem to be able to assign the "square, Triangle, Circle, Cross" buttons to any action in the game. However some of the buttons work fine such as the triggers and L1, R1, start, select etc. If anyone knows what i'm doing wrong it would be a great of help as i like the ps3 controller for melty blood.  :D

Edit: Forgot to mention if you are going to try this you need the usb cable used to charge controller that it comes with.

This is a link to the drivers that i'm using in order to get the controller to work in windows:

I would suggest trying to use something else like xpadder or joy2key and assigning the buttons that way.  See if that works.

Having the same problem myself.

Upon trying joy2key I found that it is indeed solvable - until I hit the next wall that would be unbinding the already by the game bound buttons from the controller >.<

Would there be any simple way of removing the button binds of the game?

If you delete the cfg.cfg file it will reset all your settings, including bindings. Make a backup first then try that. Not sure if any of the default buttons will land on stuff though...

As stated above, get Xpadder or JoytoKey.

Afterwards, run the program and just bind the keyboard keys to the buttons you want on the controller. However, the game still has binds which makes things difficult...
So, I bound the 'game buttons' in this manner, using the game config:
Game Buttons - Sixaxis Buttons
ABCD to D-PAD
"Quick-Action and Pause" to "Select and Start" respectively
A+D to L2
A+B to R2
A+B+C to R3
Which leaves the last game bindable button to L3 - the control stick.

Basically, we're going to have to play with the stick until someone cooks up something... or use the keyboard?

And I'm no good with the joy in fighting games...

OR

Netcaster disables PAD if you set the settings to keyboard. So, just bind all your pad keys to the keyboard keys and set the netcaster setting to keyboard.

Also, doesn't translating the joystick inputs to keyboard increase your lag noticeably?
