When's Melty on Steam?
ahaha that's no--wait, what?
-
Is there any way to host these somewhere? Are they files, where do they end up being saved at? Can they be extracted or something? I don't know a thing about them.
-
[installation drive]:\[MBAC installation path]\replay
Melty normally names the folders replayXX, where XX is a number from 00 to 99. However, you can use whatever name you want for them, since Melty just needs the files inside and doesn't give a shit about the folder name. Personally, I rename them to YYYYMMDDHHmmss, to know exactly when it was I had that specific match.
-
It seems my Replay folder is... empty? I don't understand it. I have 5 replays saved... hm.
-
Lemme guess: you're on Vista, right?
Vista fucks the game up and forces it to use another path for saving replays. Your guess is as good as mine as to where they are, since I don't use that shit.
-
... aww, crap, yeah. Vista. Is there some quick way I could locate them? <_<?
-
Well, I found the path, but, what can I do with these things? (And finding it wasn't easy. :P)
-
The replays are composed of a minimum of 2 and maximum of 5 .rpd files, and a header file. The rpd files each correspond with a round in your match, and all you can do is watch them and/or redistribute them.
-
You can, however, watch the replay (on MB) and, while it replays, you record it with Fraps, so youu can do whatever you want with it.
-
Hm, but unregistered versions of Fraps can only record for 30 seconds. Not that it doesn't work well, but that's a pain. I just tried it.
-
I hope this helps, gentleman (http://www.zshare.net/download/11368729ce65e584/)
-
Sorry, I missed your post! I thank you with many moons, Mew.
-
Even though I already have Fraps, +HEAT to you, buddy.
-
Hey, hey, what's any good for video compression? I'm not a big fan of 1 GB videos.
-
ideally xvid/h264
there's also divx, wmv, etc...
-
Personally, for those who don't want too much hassle, I think DivX is a fine choice.
-
Which format balances quality with file size well?
-
H264 all the way, baby. Grab x264 (perhaps its VFW component counterpart if you want to do it from right within Vegas or whatever) and have fun. Youtube can handle it just fine, and anyone with a codec pack worth a damn on their comp can handle it.
-
h264 is one of the best .xvid has less weird gliches depending on your compy though.
-
hey, modelcitizen, I'm on Vista as well, and cannot locate the replays. Could you tell me where they are?

First of all delete vista and install XP, then under the C:/Program Files/EcoleSoftware/MBACWIN/Replay
