Works on characters who have air moves that can hit the opponent on the "back". This "maneuver" can be used to break the "auto-guard".

Maybe it's just me, but this doesn't seem like anything really gamebreaking. You block the way your character is facing, and if you're not in blockstun, you're going to switch what direction you're facing when your opponent crosses you up. All I'm seeing is that you're doing normal crossup mixup. It's not beating crossup protection, because you're not getting crossed up and then getting hit while you're still in blockstun. If you couldn't be crossed up at all, things like F-Kouma sandoori wouldn't work.

I do think it's interesting that the game treats your inputs like you're facing the opposite direction after you hit crossup, and it opens up opportunities for mixups some characters might not have otherwise. But that's the discovery -- doesn't have anything to do with beating crossup protection, as far as I know.

I could totally be wrong about how crossup protection works though.

Neat stuff, I think I've seen okuu use this a few times before.

I sometimes do that with FVS. She has an arcing air dash, so it crosses up again. :v No one has gotten hit by it yet. ;_;

EDIT: The joke is that it crosses up again and gets the hell out of range. :v

Oh, I do 4756 for sandori. It looked like 6956 for those, though. Don't understand how the movement is buffered. Unfortunately can't test 'cause I only have crappy laptop with me. ;_;

Yeah, this is the idea! It´s to be used like a pressure "trick", another "tool" to try to break the defense of the opponent. If you use the IAD to same side (of the first crossup) you can hit him again, and that is how it's meant to be used. I've tried to do it with H-Vsion for the video, but that fell out of range too. Characters who have good range air moves, and specific Dash animations, can benefit more from this, like Len or ries. But, if you use on the corner, even characters with low range moves can hit, like H-Arc j.b, C-Miyako j.b, F-Akiha j.C, F-Seifuku j.C, etc...

The Len clip is the only one that looks like it might have done something.  The rest of them weren't blocking properly.

This is actually something I found on Ryougi a while ago on her 421 series (which has since been patched to work correctly). I don't really think it has an actual application unless the difference between a forward and backward airdash is enough to get you better positioning.

Can't be done as demonstrated with F-Moon characters unless said character has amazing hitboxes that reliably hit crossup on a j.A (which is...no character that I'm aware of) since they can't airdash cancel their j.Bs and j.Cs.

You can still IAD after a jB/jC.  I'd imagine the input would be like: jump in jC > 7/9 (to double jump) > 4/6 A+B (i use A-B dashing constantly).

Yeah; sorry, wasn't really paying attention and forgot that a dj or air dodge are required to turn around in the air, and not just an air dash.
