Current Code Bugs
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:03:22 AM »
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHleXaROQIo&feature=youtu.be

Bumped into this one today. H-Roa can combo 5c (2hit) 5a 6aa on a crouching Warc when he's facing the left, but cannot combo it on the right. Happens on Aoko too.

I tested this in VS mode as well as Training mode, and it still happens, so its not a training mode exclusive bug like the miyako tech thing in ps2.

Any system gurus got any good ideas about this one, or has anyone else bumped into any other bugs? I know this is a Roa specific one but I think having a bug thread would probably be useful.]

EDIT: On further investigation with Adviceowl, he's found out that it actually happens to EVERYONE, everyone moves back 1 extra pixel when hitting a croucher on the right, its just this specific combo requires that pixel to work.

I took this picture trying out attacking a crouched WARC in the corner with a 2b with H-Shiki. The upper one is facing right and the one the bottom is facing left. Here in a comparison we can see that Shiki somehow manages to move a pixel more backwards after a 2b facing right and a pixel less when facing left.

UPDATE

Well apparently hitting someone crouching with a move will depending on move or character cause you to move back a additional pixel depending on which way you face.

Here C-Len hit C-Wara with a 5b.
Bottom is right side corner facing right of course.
Top is left

Based on that info here's my guess:

First of all, when finding the coordinates of a sprite via pixels it is counted from 0 to whatever left to right and top to bottom. My guess is that the pushback on that particular move is not an even integer and thus gets truncated. Doing this puts Roa's sprite closer when Warc is on the left side since the lower numbers are on the left.

Found a new one. Crescent Riesbyfe 214d (shield bunker) will actually drain 50% meter when done OUTSIDE of blockstun as well, but can still be done without having any meter at all.

I don't know if this counts as a bug, but a few days ago I saw a Half moon shield cancel into 2A.  Is that...possible?

Yeah, it's possible. Kusa did a shield cancel into throw at EVO.

I understand that Half shields don't occur against projectiles, but this was against a normal ground move.  Does that principle apply to physical special moves perhaps?  Maybe something like Aoko 631A or something?

Wish I had taken a video of it happening, because it was really uncanny.  I don't remember the situation either, just the sheer shock of seeing a move being red shielded into 2A. Not sure how else to explain it.

edit: Just saw the video @2:30.  How did he do that?

Actually you have to do 5d and then 5da within 1 frame.
You can do this on all the moons and atleast on Half Moon it seems like an authentic option select, because when you cancel it off the first frame. This causes the following, if the guy does nothing he gets thrown, if he pushes a button it gets shielded and he gets thrown.

just been playing the game recently, I haven't been able to replicate it, but I've had my F-Vakiha vanish go invisible for a match...

for the exact round http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Lt6_5dNcgpE#t=16s and you could look at the lead up if you so want.

Not sure how worthwhile this is to post...

It seems that Shiki's Arc Drive doesn't deal damage with the stun if you're far enough away behind him when you make contact with him, and Kohaku's 2C is able to hit at that range if you hit with the tip of the hitbox (it may have to be the character's hitbox, as opposed to the attack's hitbox).

Shiki gets like three seconds of advantage when this happens, so even though it seems to force him to the edge of the field, surprise and/or maybe good traps are probably the only things that will save you when this happens.
Also, I'm not sure this happens on his Another Arc Drive, as it's ridiculously difficult to test due to having to trigger Blood Heat.

The thing is, under normal circumstances where Shiki is AD-ing and you stand behind him, if you extend your hitbox (greenbox) to touch him, you will get CH'd and the move works like normal, ie damage and launching. The cactus somehow changed that.

The cactus isn't necessary for that to happen, though it may have had an effect in that video, since they seem a little closer than I remember it working (though Kohaku was in an earlier frame of the attack).
From my testing (with both using Crescent, if it makes a difference), if Kohaku dodges through Shiki's Arc Drive on startup at close (but not point-blank) range and immediately uses 2C, then it can cause the glitch if Kohaku isn't too close to Shiki.  It isn't too strict either, since I've done it multiple times controlling Kohaku and I've done it controlling Shiki.

This happened while i was playing my friend today. He turned into a mini-Aoko, which was hilarious to watch while he was jumping around and pressing buttons, and i would often turn into distorted chubby Aoko.

I only managed to get a 2:08 minute video of 1-fps sprite flickering from fraps.

Didn't get to test it much. He would get Aoko moves whenever he pressed buttons, but I've no clue if the hitboxes and properties would still be Neko-Chaos ones.
