Mystery solved.  It's 6D~A.  If you do it right, on whiff you'll see a slightly different animation than if you do 6E or 6A+D.  This makes going for throws a bit safer though it is still possible to be mashed.  It's kinda hard for me though :(.

Excuse my scrubbiness but what are the applications of this? I can't really think of anything that seems to useful.

It only works for Aoko? So far I don't seem to see a slightly different sprite for other characters and downright can't do it for anyone else other than Aoko.

Tohno's sprite spazzes out a bit more compared to his normal throw whiff.  I imagine this should work for any character though again, it is fairly difficult to get the proper timing so you don't get shield whiff or normal throw.

its funny you mention its hard cuz, I get this shit a lot of time (I've noticed the different animation since long ago but didn't really pay attention to it)  :nyoro:
