Back when I was playing Full-Tuned on the PC, shooting out Arc Drives has always been easy for me, with just 3 buttons -> V <- (or 63214 whatever)

But now, I find myself unable to do it consistently in Act Cadenza Ver B for the PC.  I don't have the money for a new pad right now (plus this game would be the only game I could really invest in a pad with anyway), I wonder if anyone can give me a few tips as to how to do the Arc Drives on a keyboard more consistently?

Also, can anyone teach me how to Side Step?  I've seen it a few times, but I have no idea how to do it.

(Also, how does one pause the game in training mode with a keyboard?)

dodge is 2ab(or 2q)

Arc drives used to be 426c, now they are 41236c.  You need to make sure you get your diagonals.

That's what counts, Make sure you press 4, 4+2, 2, 2+6, 6. It's not that hard. Train it.

Yeah, the only reason you should screw up on them is if you're not getting the diagonals in. They're actually really damn easy to do on a keyboard, too.

Whats the best way to get the diagonals in?  My 3 finger pound isn't getting it still, at least not consistently

It takes a little bit of practice. Try doing it slowly at first, and gradually speed up.

Lay your ring finger on 6, the middle finger on 2 and the forefinger on 4.
Now imagine this movement one does if he's bored and taps with the fingers on the table. This wave-like tapping with one finger after another. Try it this way.

Q = 2AB (Dodge) , 5ABC (Burst in hitstop/hitstun... someone correct me here) (Heat in neutral), 6/4AD (throw)

Well yah, I get that, but in mbcaster:

# Keyboard inputs. Check keycodes.txt for appropiate numbers.
kLeft=0xCB
kRight=0xCD
kUp=0xC8
kDown=0xD0
kA=0x31
kB=0x32
kC=0x33
kD=0x24
kQ=0xB8 <---  I don't get why ab = Q, yet theres no option for ABC blood heat.  Since you guys called it Q, I figure you guys might know the other one for heat too lol.
kAD=0x34

I accidently dodge sometimes in pressure ;_;.  That's a painful situation for you.

I've always had trouble with doing arc drives on keyboard.  I watched my inputs one day and found that I'm actually missing the down.  I'm not so bad at it anymore, but it was odd.

Yah, the down was getting me too.

Now I can do it, but with only 1 frame of down.  Which is troublesome if I need to pull off a quick arc drive and I cannot because the keyboard refuse to register it...

Keyboard is easy mode, if you're having difficulties (especially after a while), your keyboard probably sucks. Try getting a new one or use another peripheral to play instead (ie stick or pad).

That might be, too. Some keyboards don't accept more than 2 keys pressed the same time. It's hard to deal with a move like 41236C and fighting games in general. I had such a keyboard and bought a new one for 12$ and it's doing fine.
