When's Melty on Steam?
ahaha that's no--wait, what?
-
Well to the like two places in the US that have this game, let's throw up changes we know about:
F Hisui:
j.B can be charged now, and has H-Hisui's J.B hitbox.
H Hisui:
Back to two stools.
Bunker no longer knocks down.
In general:
Can airdash again after raw airthrow like in MBAC.
:O
-
Can airdash again after raw airthrow like in MBAC.
Wait. What? (I actually liked it better when she didn't have it, but thats just my opinion)
Also cross posting what i posted on the vid thread:
C-Hisui: (please verify)
- bunker knocks the the opponent in the air. (Originally, it launched them to the other side of the screen)
- bunker attacks when no attacks hit her. (Originally she did nothing)

Why would you ever prefer not having a good option available? ??? ??? ??? ???

Just a personal gripe. Back in AC, I'd autopilot it and I felt it got me nowhere. I also feel it is unnecessary since you can still tech punish w/o it.
If I ever get the chance to play CC, though, I'll prolly end up using it to get away from the corner in corner combos at least.

Son of a bitch you're right.
It doesn't look as fast as Half did in MBAA, but there's like no reason to play Half now is there?
:emo:
-
I kinda wanna believe that Hhisui has something. Only player I've seen use Half is Mr. P and I see him want to play her like Cresent... and not do too well.
(Mr P using Half. Prepare to be sad)

Speaking of Mr. P, Seem's he's the only one I've seen who uses the double ladle combos with Cresent (Yes!!). Every other Chisui I've seen likes to use her j.BB traps extensively like in MBAC.
Here are vids for comparison. (some vids cross posted from the vid thread)

Probably because jbb is scary, easier to do, and doesn't give your opponent nearly as much meter.

Its not that hype without air ladles.
-
Its not that hype without air ladles.
It's more hype to watch your opponent pissing their pants in fear because of jbb then it is to watch yourself drop j236.
-
Yeah I never understood the 'hype' of double ladle combo, but I'm black and white with j.BB anyway.
-
I use single-ladle into jBB combo and you should too. :nyoro:
Combos are longer so you're dominating for a longer time.

Here. Have some Fhisui.

inb4 chibi wtf's and/or cries about how he can't do the combo :nyoro:
-
It'd probably do a lot more damage too. Looks pretty hype. Aren't charge-hit combos generally easier in CC though? Is this similar to the Sacchin combos?

The Hisui thread has been looking lonely... Thought id post some H-Hisui.

You can do this combo just not as many A's are needed.
(whatever you want that goes into 5c) 5c 6c 6c 236c 5a 6b J[C] jb land jbc jbc AT you're able to get jabc jabc but its really tight there does about 4.8k on nanaya.
(it's also easier to pull off if there are more hits before the first 5c)
also...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzjmcc_nkds#t=52m23s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzjmcc_nkds#t=52m23s) funny use of j6b dust :P

All Hisui players should know this high level tactic.

-
Oh god, I used to abuse that shit hard in MBAC. It was outright retarded there.
Unfortunately playing H and F she doesn't get that wonderful 5.A, but did they change it somehow?
-
Couldn't Kohaku wakeup 214c after that?
-
Couldn't Kohaku wakeup 214c after that?
5a would whiff during ex flash and Hisui would have plenty of time to get a free air throw since the startup of the first molotov is pretty long. You can also CH Kohaku between when she drops the last molotov and when she touches the ground, which leads to full bnb.
-
Is the 1A+D option select a viable option to get out of this setup?
-
Is the 1A+D option select a viable option to get out of this setup?
You can't break the throw once the bento explodes. Everyone can wakeup bunker to clash w/any meaty she does or if you don't mind taking the minor bento damage you can wakeup heat.
-
Is the 1A+D option select a viable option to get out of this setup?
It depends. C-Hisui's 5a hits high and may miss crouchers, so the shield may whiff.
Also, her 5A after the Bento setup can purposely be thrown too early to whiff. Best case is you may throw tech. Worst case, your shield comes out and you get thrown again.
Mind that after a throw tech, you will still have to worry bout the bento. ;D

Dust loop is back!!!

Dust loop is back!!!
What?
How? Off 5c?
On block too?
-
Mostly yep. Off of avg charas like ciel and sion, it connects from her 5c. Succeeded doing her 2B> 5c>2b>5C loop and my fave, dust>2b>5C>214b. On fatter charas like nero and wara. Dust hits em all 4 times

Sure. You'll have to wait though till next weekend though. Arcade is not conveniently close. :(

Just tried it for C, but I'm sure H will be no different.

Can you also check to see how good H-Hisui's j.B is?
Check out how much meter 4b drains too (in any mode).
Thanks!

Screwed around a bit with H-Hisui's j.B. I don't think it crosses over anymore... :-X
Also, I believe that the meter drain is still around 15%. The knockdown from the first hit (or rather, the opponent laying there on the ground after the 4B knockdown) feels like it has been lessen'd. Still can be OTG'd though.

Could somebody get Hisui win quotes in MBAA (or MBAACC) for me? I cannot read Japanese, and cannot find the Jap text to use auto-translate either.

Here's the Hisui wiki for some of her quotes...

Here's the Hisui wiki for some of her quotes...

So she doesn't have any special win quote to Nanaya Shiki, does she?
When I played MBAC I got something...
-
I don't think thats a character specific quote. But I know that Nanaya has a win quote for Hisui in MBAA.
Its something like:
"Just because it's not pitch black at night anymore doesn't mean human eyes have become better.
Stop walking around at night.
You should stay locked up in that mansion for your own safety."
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwEI35CCOgM#t=23m46s (V1.05 C-Hisui)
I knew you could follow up with an empty throw!!
-
This looks like it's just in the corner, right?
D:
-
I don't think thats a character specific quote.
Well, I tried many times when I played MBAC, and Hisui has two special win quotes to Nanaya. One of them is "Um, are you hurt?"
Notice that she never said it to even Tohno Shiki.
But I know that Nanaya has a win quote for Hisui in MBAA.
Its something like:
"Just because it's not pitch black at night anymore doesn't mean human eyes have become better.
Stop walking around at night.

Thank you.

Empty air throw in the corner again.
-
Played V1.05 and did some testing with Hisui's starting air throw during some matches and against the computer.
- 2A can connect right when she lands, but it has to be quick or the opponent will land first
- Succeeded once in landing a 2A>5C after an empty air throw.
- 2A can connect away from the corner.
Couldn't test it too much since the cpu doesn't jump nearly as much as I'd like.... plus the cab is h2h with screens on opposite ends (and 2 quarters a pop), so it would be difficult to try it on my own.
-
:D
Cool, let me know more stuff as you find it out~
-
Put a rock next to the stick keeping it in the up position. I imagine a girthy book would work quite well if no dirty rocks that the manager will yell at you for using are available.
-
I knew it!!!
236C hits otg and launches !!! ;D
-
Also, FHisui charged 6C overhead bounces, even on otg and can be followed up in the corner, or anytime on ch
-
omg that sounds delicious
:D

Ahhhhh that looks like so much fun.
My mind is spinning just thinking about how to use it~
Could you test out her 22 stuff too (22A / 22B / 22C) see if they still sucks ass?

Ya talkin bout just F-Moon or all moons?

All moons. See how long each one lasts, how many hits they take to go away, etc. Maybe her 22B in full moon is worth using now (I doubt it).

22 a/b never sucked ass in C/H :laffo: :laffo: :laffo:
-
Does she even have chair in C? It always bugged me how 22A/B were the same thing in H, and how utterly fucking useless 22B and 22C were to F. I mean 22B in F alone has to be one of the worst god damn tools for a fighting game character I've ever come across.
-
Only benefit I saw with F-Moons 22B is that if the Desk Chair goes back at you, you can 214D bunker and the Desk Chair will clash (to activate the bunker). Otherwise, gimmicks ahoy.

Been a while since the Hisui thread had some love. Thought i'd post a Hisui match vids from Aware and show interesting things i saw.

C-Hisui
0:10 - Classic j.BB Tech Punish
0:15 - Series of j.BB's in the corner to bait a tech punish, ends with a 623a Dust ender.
1:10 - Hillarious OTG tech punish bait.
1:17 - Same OTG tech punish bait, but opponent doesn't tech.
1:42 - Love that safe j.BB. Even better with BH Hisuidoken.
F-Hisui
3:00 - j.6B used as a cross up tool after a throw.
3:12 - Raw airthrow follow up j.6B, land, 6(C), 6(C)
4:03 - j.6B cross-up mix up attempt during mid pressure.
4:35 - Invalid j.6B corner dust death. lol
5:48 - Some Chair Mix ups.
6:32 - 623C Ladder as a shield bait? Awsome!
6:41 - j.6B cross-up mix up during mid pressure.
7:19 - 41236C Hisuidoken still a good Reversal tool.
8:10 - Using Chair and 623C Ladder as a throw setup.
8:49 - Double ladders. Yay.
9:10 - Using j.(B) as a post throw mixup.
9:17 - Chair Mixup.
9:37 - More chair Mixups.
9:45 - Another chair mixup.
10:31 - Knockdown in corner, Chair, Crossover j.(B), IAD to turn around, Mash A.
11:13 - Interesting post throw follow up with Chair > IAD forward > j.6B > 5B > 2B. 5B caught the Backdash but there was no follow up. Guess the 5B > 2B is supposed to follow up after the j.6B if the opponent chose to block or got hit.
11:35 - chair mixups are always funny to watch.
Whew.. Alot of footnotes...
-
Haha, I was just about to post this.
F-Hisui is looking more and more delicious.
I have to wonder which groove is superior now, F or C.
Honestly I think it's F at this point.

Random pimp combo.
New move: BE623b
22c now poisons the opponent
-
Yeah what the fuck.
What in the actual fuck.
-
So 623B has a charged version now.... and it does up to 4 hits in the air....
That and the j2(C)...
I wonder if j6B can be charged. ;D
-
Damn it I wanted to drop this character already!
-
She has a charged j.2c too?
What in the fuck??

I haven't seen a major benefit to j2(c) yet. Anyone have a clue?

At around 16:15, this Hisui does this combo off gold air throw:
air throw falling j.6B land BEj.C j.A air dash j.A j.B land j.B j.C dj.AA j.BB
Ends with corner tech punish setup and could probably go into yayaya loop if you need more corner carry. This char is cool!! :fap: :fap:

dat BE623b. Numakie, does H have that too?
-
Haven't seen vids of H in 1.07 yet so iunno.
-
Jesus fuck that 623B stays out FOREVER.
That's just dirty.
:psyduck:
-
In 1.05. H hisui 6c otg relaunches... I wonder if she still has that in 1.07...
-
Didn't it just create ground bounce?
-
Nope. 5C assures a OTG relaunch.
the 2nd hit of 5CC will cause knockdown to an opponent
However, 5C(C), the charged C will ground bounce on an airborne opponent.
When i practiced with it, i would follow 5CC to a charged jC, times when i 2C>2A for pressure and i actually sweep em, or just moments where the opponent doesn't ground tech. it also makes a nifty follow up after the watering can.
I recorded alot of vid too so ill prolly highlight those moments when i edit it.

Never thought of using the Air dodge after a jBB to lay down a j6B air dust. Wonder if it punishes netural & back recovery....
-
Does F have any way to OTG relaunch after 6[c]?
-
Does F have any way to OTG relaunch after 6[c]?
From what I tested
-on hit, it causes a bounce
- you can't special cancel after a 6{c}
- tried to follow up with her j{b}>j{c} combo, but 6{c} is too slow to follow up.
- can follow up after her 2c sweep.
- on counter hit, it causes a decent amount of counter stun before the bounce. You have plenty of time to go in and follow up with your favorite combo
- on non counter hit you can follow up with the following
*236a in the corner. You can do the 236a follow up for knockdown or 236b for her ladel launcher....{guess you can ex cancel into ladder...}
*2/5a in the corner only when you are really close
* 236c for an ex ladel relauncher
* another 6{c} {double bounce combos are always fun}
dat BE623b. Numakie, does H have that too?
H doesn't have 623{b} to abuse. She does have j2{c} however. Shit flys down real fast on charge.
Also, F does not have j2{c}
-
A quick C-Hisui basics video I made for fun. Portrays a few bnbs, tech punishes and her corner high/low pan/sweep mixup. Also shows a couple ways to convert after a counter hit or the new air throw.

I'm not a great video editor, so it's nothing fancy, but I'd like to say it's worth checking out.
Pasting over here in hopes that it might help someone who checks the Hisui forum.

Do you think it'd help anyone to make a jump direction video? When I first picked her up I always just did forward jumps until I realized you had to differentiate it based on how far you were from the corner lol.

It couldn't hurt.

Alot of things happen here.
@1:27 - jBB > j236A > j236C > follow up to throw ender
@1:31 - j2C mixup #1 after Air throw (no ground tech)
@1:33 - j2C mixup #2 after ground throw. Ambiguous crossover.
@1:37 - Guard Break setup
@1:40 - Netural Tech Punish. Follows up with a hilarious 50 hit combo that brings Hisui's heat bar from 80% to 239%
@1:52 - Dash in Table ftw.

Yeah I personally prefer Ten's Hisui, I've been watching a lot of him lately to try and pick some things up.
I noticed against certain DP's after a 2c 623a bento after a no-tech, he'll 623{B} into EX Bento.
I'm curious as to which wake-ups this is safe against and which it isn't. Maybe EX Dust instead?
Might have to go test this out tomorrow.

Ya can't tech after the 2nd hit of her 623a.
Also the whole idea of the Bento is you are scaring the opponent to block, so you can take advantage of that moment.
I'd prolly do the 623(B) to EX bento follow up to make my opponent scared to jump, and have to eat another bento setup.

I'm referring to if you don't tech her j.bb, (or if you do neutral tech), where 5a 2c 623a will punish / "invalid combo". Sorry, I should have been more specific.
I assumed it was him specifically doing it around DP's, but I totally forgot about chicken guarding.

Hmm.. Can ya link to specific moments he does this?
-
Sure thing. I'm at work right now so ill see if I can find it once I get home.
Would you be willing to help me test what it's safe against?
-
Don't know exactly what you're asking, but ill take a stab at it and talk about jBB stuff and Bento follow ups.
If you're talkin about her post jBB ender... there is alot of stages to look out for.
At the first bounce, I tend to see if they will tech either forward, backward, netural, or just bounce.
- Forward teching usually means they wanna get in and try to get in close to hit me. Forward tech is also slow and can be reacted to with a meaty 2b or mash out the 2As...
- Netural teching prolly means they just wanna get up quickly as possible. In the corner, the 5A/2C option select may work (I dont use it much...). Further jBB's means that they will prolly forward tech again and i can react accordingly.
- Back teching can mean they just wanna get the hell away from me. I'll then choose if i wanna chase em down or just throw a pot at em.. or continue netural spacing
If they don't tech and just bounce...
- prolly the best ender is a 2C>623A>22A/B bento if you can catch em.
- An alternate follow up is to just jump up and add a bit more damage with another jBB or a throw ender.
- If they are too far, however, I'll just chase em down and try to react to a 2nd landing tech punish. Then ill just react if they faceplant to the ground or hop up (Tech). I'll react then.
If it is post bento mix ups you're lookin for... I'll just say get the timing of the bento explosion in your brain and get used to the proximity that it'll explode. When the opponent recovers completely, they only have umm... 1/2 a second (?) to react to the bento, so they gotta act quickly...
If the opponent...
Blocks: Throw or blockstring pressure.. or go for her 6B(B) overhead... or 6C ,Delayed 2C.
Jumps: Meet em in the air or go for a guard break (dash in A's can do the trick) Even 623B will do nicely.
Backdashes: Ya can prolly chase em down.. or if they always choose to back dash, use 22B instead of 22a. Let them backdash into a bento. ;D
Shield or Bunker: Risky move, but it may work... Just be weary of trying to go for Meaty hits. You can prolly go for a 5B to counter low Shield or 2B to counter high shield... or laugh at the opponent shielding to nothing and punish em.
Mashes: Meaty... maybe? or just block. Let them risk getting blown by the bento (muwahaha)
DP's: Honestly... i hate these... just approach em cautiously... 623C at a safe distance... or block and punish em according.. Heck.. even a pot works at em.
Dodges: Actually a fairly good option for the opponent... You can throw em... or meaty 2B em... Also use 5(C) sparingly overall.. cuz good players will dodge it at the right time and punish ya.
EX Hiero/Hime 2369C/Any good wake up super: Just be weary and be ready to block... or shield... or cry if you're hit.
These are just some of the things that ya can do. Hope this gives overall insight with this crazy maid.
Edit: In addition, there is absolutely nothing wrong with just doing nothing and seeing what the opponent'll do in that moment they have to react to the bento. Who knows' it may give you some insight later during the match. Also... throws are awsome. Learn ways to tick throw with her. She has one of the best post throw in the game being that it gives you like 2 seconds to setup whatever the hell you want.

I'm sorry, maybe I need to be more specific when I ask things lol.
I was asking if you could help me test what would be safe after a 2c 623a 22a; followed up with a 623{B} into either EX Bento or EX Dust.
The way I imagine it, the 623{B} would discourage any chicken blocking, and if they do DP (correct me if I'm wrong) they would get hit by the dust? (Afaik it persists...) Possibly juggled long enough by it for you to recover from the dp and follow up? Maybe if you get counter hit, you might not have enough time.
Blocks: Throw or blockstring pressure.. or go for her 6B(B) overhead... or 6C ,Delayed 2C.
Is it safe to assume you meant 6C{C}? Am I missing something? xD

My friend plays F-Nanaya, so I've been trying to experiment with what I can do to get around his DP...
If a 623{B} does infact trade and allows me to punish or reset pressure, I'm okay with this. Although I must say I've never tried throwing a pot at them on wake up, lol

In addition to discouraging chicken blocking, the 1st part (Each time she pats with her duster) is air unblockable, and it has a weird habit of hitting standing opponents upclose... That said, if you get hit, the dust disappears. DP's in the face will prolly stuff your 623(b) completely. Do it some distance away and you can probably get away with doing the 623(b)...? maybe?
Is it safe to assume you meant 6C{C}? Am I missing something? xD
Yeah... i meant 6C(C) lol... Funny enough, 6B makes a decent guard break (ground to air) attack. Can prolly stuff jump outs if you're feeling lucky.
Turns out it wasn't Ten, but actually Sekawa.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TX5OpK2cqY#t=25m30s.
I guess this is exactly what you're talkin about.
Doing the 623(B) by itself is a bit risky. Satsuki could have prolly woke up EX grab'd, dash in throw or prolly 2C'd. Then again, she has to choose one thing & those options are inherently risky for her. At this point, I'd do this if i were confident, or felt like gambling, that they were gonna just block or just reallly wanted to jump away.
Assuming it worked though, the EX Bento cancel after the 623(B) can be safe since the 1st bento is on the verge of exploding.
Ten also does something similar in:

Ten's was more so a stuttered 2c into another bento, followed by 623{B}.
Prolly a better textbook example... and much safer. I also tested this a bit myself
Between the opponent & the Bento exploding, the 2C actually gives enough blockstun to safely lay out another bento. Also, the opponent recovers (gets out of block stun) just before the bento explodes, so it acts as stagger. Bentos exploding leave a decent amount of Block stun as well. By the time Hisui is done laying down her bento, the opponent will prolly be finished getting out of blockstun. Nifty overall.
My friend plays F-Nanaya, so I've been trying to experiment with what I can do to get around his DP...

If it is during Bento pressure, consider how close you are standing to your opponent. If you are in their face, DP's will be a good option for them and will stuff your oki attempts. Blocking & waiting is prolly the best option here. If you are not confident to deal with em, you can prolly dash away and leave a j.6B as a present, then dash right in since they still have a bento to deal with. 623(B) prolly only good to use if you are already a safe distance away.

I was aware you could time stamp your URLs, but didn't actually know how to do it. That should be useful to remember, thanks.
I wasn't sure if the dust persisted or not, but that's unfortunate that it doesn't. I think I'll try 2c'ing on their wake-up into another bento to see how they react; I've never done it myself. Since a couple of the people I play LOVE mashing jab, I've been trying to space myself a little farther away during oki.
I tried that option select vs Nanaya's DP but I haven't quite gotten the hang of it.

I tried that option select vs Nanaya's DP but I haven't quite gotten the hang of it.
The way it works is you can cancel after a 2a whiffs into shield. So you want to press 2a as early as possible so you hit with the last active frame ideally. Hope that helps.
-
Ahh, that makes more sense.
I'll try it a again next time I play him then, thanks.
The 2c 22a has been working out pretty well though I must say.

Ok so I'm totally playing Hisui again, duh.
A few things I've re-adjusted while playing H, but C is like an glove with holes in it. Fits fine but I need to patch her up.
I'm just like so against using yayayayaya combos though, I don't like the meter it gives my opponent, and I question whether it's universal or not. If I learn it do I need to bother with her old tech stuff anymore? 5A 2C the way of the dinosaur?
Lemme know old friends~
-
I've always liked the yayaya combo for the free meter it gives you and the 99% assured knockdown as an ender. The fact that you can end the yayaya combo with a 623a means that you can hold all the meter for yourself. As for the meter gain, well it can't be helped too much though I noticed the yayaya combo doesn't feed the opponent as much meter as before... if anything I trained mysef to try and keep the amount of hits of the yayaya combo to 30 or less.
As for the 5a 2c.... I don't use it.... instead I just observe the opponents teching habits and react accordingly. Usually I look for any kind of flip motion. Forward and backward teching is so much slower then mbac so I find it easy to react against. Netural teching ya just gotta feel that they're gonna do it... also I suspect that the 5a misses some charas in tech recovery...
Also... ex dust saves your life. No joke. It stops your opponent in their tracks, can force a guard break situation, can be followed up after 623a/b and 236a/b>236a/b, covers your tech recoveries, scares your opponent into blocking, stops blockstring resets, covers your ass so you can set up some bentos an throw shit, bout anything you can think of. Only main weakness I find is that it whiffs completely against meaties. It is prolly the most safest option against opponents who are some distance away. If anything, ex dust is one big reason you wanna build meter.
Edit: After facing the guys at Arizona, i am reconsidering the use of 5a2c.... What i do know though is since the tech timings are different, 5a2c isn't 100%... it mainly works best against netural teching, and will miss forward/backward teching IF you only do it the moment you land.
-
I've been playing the folks here too, mostly with H and I've come to the conclusion that untechable knockdown via yayaya is way more important then tech punishing. Hisui's strengths come about when she has a bento / stool set up and that's not something you get from 5A2C. Is the yayaya combo / set up listed here already? If not, wanna throw it at me?
Also H Kohaku is a blisteringly annoying character.

jAB jAC > Airdash > jBB > 236B > land > 623A or 236A236A
Couple of notes
0: Works when you are near/at the corner.
1: The yayaya combo works best when you delay the 2nd B of the jBB
2: Alternatively, You can Reverse Beat the jBB instead of Airdash
3: 623A ender has to be done the moment you land the j236B. (I recommend double tapping the A).
4: Standard follow up of the 623A ender is the 22A Bento... You can also be creative like you would any other 623A ender
5: Standard follow up after a 236A236A ender is an EX cancel to her 22C (EX bento). If you chose to do something else, note that the opponent gets up fairly quickly.
Edit: Damnit ><. Thanks for the correction, Mintz.

I think I might of finally found a use for EX stuff fu! (214C)
I tried this on F-W'Len
1: W'Len throws an EX Ice Spike (236C) (usually a 5 hit stun)
2: Hisui Shields
3: Hisui 214C
4: Ice Spike passes right through
5: Crap flies out
I'll test stuff out later. But hot damn, what a find. :prinny:

Is there a particular reason to doing j.AB as opposed to j.AAC? Does it end up scaling better? Not sure where I read how to do it, but I've been using j.AAC.
Learning the timing for 623A after j.236B was tricky, but double tapping definitely makes it easier.

.... ugh... I need to review my posts... meant it to be j.AC....
Still though. I perfer j.AC over j.AAC simply because of less hits. Back in the ps2 AA, doing combos over 30 hits netted the opponent with a ton of meter... before it gave em over 70% meter. Now in CC, it only nets the opponent like 45% meter, which is not bad.
-
Ah I see, I think I found it easier to j.AAC because I had more time to react on whether or not I confirmed after landing and rejumping.
I watched your matches from some tournament at FFA before I headed over to work today, some good stuff. I need to work on my block strings a bit more, I tend to either go high/low and cancel into EX dust if I guess wrong, or 5A whiff cancel and try to continue it. Do you have any setups where you know your j.C will whiff and you can land and grab?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxnK94fFOio
A common setup I like to use when I get the opponent blocking is this:
1) Jump in and jC.
2) opponent will probaby block high
3) when jC gets blocked, dash in and...
4a) jC before you land,or
4b) Hold jC so the table doesn't come out and throw or 2b when you land.
This works best when you have a bento out or EX dust.
Note that you may get shielded or poked at in the air.
-
I see. I just noticed that every now and then when I IAD j.C, it'll whiff on their body and it'll take us both by surprise. I figured if I knew how to purposely whiff it I could get some sneaky throws in, although recently my friends have been chicken blocking a lot.
-
If they are chicken blocking your jC and you land first, Mash out 5A to break their air guard.
It should looks something like this: http://youtu.be/4Xo69mMMsM4#t=0m32s
You can also go in with j.B as well. It has a funny habit of whiffing grounded opponents:
http://youtu.be/5X_OYXxZCwo
It works better, imo, if you intentionally want to whiff against a grounded opponent.
It also has a better chance of catching opponents who Chicken block because of the high hitbox.
-
Also learn to use j.6b, it's by far the most god damn annoying offensive tool in the game bar none.
Here's some stuff to mess around with.
j.C - after a short block string to bait out a 2c / long poke in retaliation.
j.C, airdash j.C - typical rush down string, always good.
j.C, airdash j.6b - DIRTY. They'll expect something else and the delayed timing of the dust will mess them up all kinds of bad.
j.C, air dash whiff j.C, land throw - for when they start respecting you
.
j.C, airdash whiff j.C, 2b - go low when they expect another j.6b / j.C.
j.C, airdash j.C, 236a/b - The lower to the ground you are with the ladles the easier it is to follow up from them.
j.C, airdash j.C (or j.[C]) - Mmmm counter hits, also good to mess up timing.
jump straight up j.[C] whiff, throw - rather scary even if its basic
mid screen after throw (which may not happen often thanks to her corner carry combos): jump over them slightly, air dash back over them, j.6b meaty
Seriously j.6b covers almost all options outside of wake up back dash. It is fucking dirty lol.
NUMAKIE THROW ME SOME MORE
-
Eeek... Info dump..... *takes notes*... those are all good...
Umm.. here's one,
jB is an overhead attack, but it hits so damn high that it'll miss all crouchers but nero.
You can fuzzy it however by doing j.C > j.B as you are going in. Timing is weird though.
Edit: .... Quick test.. couldn't reach nero... ;<
-
I should start using j.6B more offensively, I agree. I tend to use it mostly when I IAD backwards and try to get some space. I was toying around with some awkward j.6B mixup I saw when you land as they wake up, but I honestly wasn't quite sure what I was trying to do.
Unfortunately most of my friends don't have "respect" when it comes to this game (or most in general) and will mash 2a whenever they notice they're not in block/hitstun lol
Edit: I do try to 5a when they chicken block, but I've been trying to sj.9 and AT, it looks cool if I read them right, but I look pretty dumb if I guess wrong
-
Alternate tricks you can use.
236A/B > 236B: The 236B follow up cannot be blocked in the air. On hit, you can jump cancel to an air combo. If they block on the ground, or if you whiff the 236B follow up completely, you can cancel it with 623C EX dust for safety.
If you have the meter to burn, 623C when you land, or where the opponent has to land. That way if they chicken block, or just land on the dust in general, they will be in 4 hits of air block hit stun. Plenty of time to go in for a 5a air guard break.
I have played around with using 623C EX dust as an air tech trap. It works like this:
1: Opponent recovers somewhat low in the air... (lets say... cuz you failed to follow up the yayaya combo.. bwahaha)
2: You react by throwing out an EX dust.
3a: Opponent that covers netural (or back in the corner) will have to land on the dust, unless they double jump or dash toward you.
3b: Opponent that recovers forward... will be coming toward you. You are ready to meet them with your own attack. (Air throw, Guard Break.... Hit em back into the dust with jBB....)
-

Have you been watching me play? How'd you know! lol.
I have been doing that recently, actually. If I noticed I did it a little too high and I wouldn't be able to get the follow up, I usually 623C and hop up and (DI?) backwards and stick out a j.A to poke a forward air tech / dash into the dust.
I didn't know that the second follow-up of 236b was air unblockable though, that's good to know.
I think I have the timing on her 5a 5d 2b OS down now, it seems to be slightly different when trying to bait a wake-up heat (although they still eat the bento)
-
And yet, I remain the only
scrub player dedicated to the art of the Tech Punish.
You'll never convert me to your dirty ladle setups Numakie, no matter how sexy they are! Slut. >:{
Mostly because I get stuck in auto-pilot mode way too easily and don't end up using them nearly as often as I should. I occasionally forget to use all the shit I've practiced because I'm bad I'm so good that it doesn't make a difference anyways.

Also check this out... Pay very close attention to P2's meter and Hisui doing the watering can (4B)
http://youtu.be/IVWuuV3Pad4#t=18m04s
18:08 - H-moon Arc had 198 meter. Hisui uses the watering can to deplete the meter to 184.
18:16 - After catching H-Arc into another combo, H-Arc has 200 meter that should convert to Heat mode. Hisui ends the combo with a 2C>623A ender. Hisui then steps back and uses the watering can again, depleting H-arc's meter to 185 before Arc stands up.
The round ends with Hisui doing Bento>throw set ups.
For those who may not catch it, The watering can essentially deprived H-moon its required 200 meter to go into heat mode. That... is just awsome....

Could anyone please write a guide/update the mizuumi wiki or create at least a thread with a compilation of all the strats/combos/stuff is written just in a couple of posts instead of of 6 threads? I just started learning Hisui right now after being a Wara player for like 4 years, and even though I know the basics, I wish I could just confirm all my knowledge. The Mizuumi Hisui Wiki page is clear except some explanation for her normals, and I think the ps2 page is pretty outdated. I'm not even asking for this stuff for myself , but I feel we need a good database again to bring in the new players, because as I see it now, most players are just the older players and there are only a few of new ones wanting to play the game, especially when some wiki categories are so lacking. Teaching every person individually is just too much of a hassle : ( Thanks

I'm in the process of turning my MBAC Hisui into the proper AA standards, so my first step was learning those sexy yayaya combos but I've ran into a problem...
See, I can do the 2abc6c version just fine, but when I do the BE5c j.A j.BB 236a combo the rejump portion gets a lot harder to do, and even when I get it right I can never end it on 623a because the dust ends up behind my enemy and won't hit him for some reason (I can do the 236a236a ender fine tho).
Any input would be nice, especially on the dust thing, since I can't seem to get it to work no matter what.

Also... when do you "BE5c j.A j.BB 236a"? To me, it only makes sense to do this after 6b launcher, and rejumping after a 236A is pretty strict.

Yeah, it's after 6b launcher, I actually meant BEjC not 5c :psyduck:. And I had read your post already and it helped me a great deal with the 2abc6c combo but I kept whiffing the 623 when doing the 6b version.
I think I might have figured out the problem though, it seems my second jump was actually a tad high and that made my 623 whiff at the end, I'm delaying the BEjC a bit now and getting both the rejump and 623a ender a lot more consistently, or so it seems... still need to test a bit more!
-
You don't have to use j236a if you somehow confirmed into the 6b launcher. You can do this instead and I find it easier since the timing is the same as the 2c 5c/6c launcher.
2a 2b 5c 2c 6b j[c] ja jb land ja jbb j236b jaac airdash jbb j236b land 623a/236a236a
-
As a general note, I'd keep the combos below or near 30 hits, unless I want even more meter or the opponent is in Heat. Up the combo counter meter more, you start feeding the opponent tons of meter.
If you are wondering, the ladle combo gives em about 45% meter. Ladle combos really add up the combo counter quickly.

Needs more Hisui love.

Is there any trick to do j.BB consistently after an air throw? most of the time Hisui is facing the wrong way when I try to do it :gonk:

I assume you mean after a raw airthrow.
There is no real trick. You just have to hit j.BB the moment you bounce off the opponent.
The exception is when you... i guess air dash in airthrow?... Hisui may bounce and go too far forward because of forward momentum, making the jBB whiff.
I have been doing j6B myself after an airthrow. It's funny to see the opponent bounce from an air dust.

You have low standards. Pick F(raud)-moon, 2AAA redash, overpowered dive oki, hero.
On an educational note- i'm amazed they didn't catch and fix the JBB arcana heart fairy zooming yet.

lol
That's hilarious but I'm not goign to learn it :|
I really wanted to learn that.
I found that with some funky air movements you can extend the combo with j6b (MOREDUSTPLEASE :o) as there are no more jumpcancels available this is the only option to do so..
I figured it might be worthwhile with extra damage, but im getting an extra whopping 100 :emo:
http://www.youtu.be/a54GOI4IGeE
Requires you to be within a fairly small distance (MIDscreen) to work as the j[c] will always dump the opponent past the Exbento, you need the corner there to trap them onto it, however you can't be too close to the corner or the Exdust won't be able to push back (forgive me for stating the obvious)
