Seeing as the forums died as I was typing my response to this yesterday, this is a little late.  Anyway, the ShikiF vs m.HisuiC video on here shows off Shiki using the roman cancel-ish Heat activation to get 5c rc 5c in one of the combos around 0:50, iirc.

Maybe you can shield and cancel it into some fast command move... Maybe Akiha's Arc-Drive ranged hit? Probably at least heat.

from the looks of those last 2 videos, the freezing bug is brought by 3 charged black key attacks in a row after the loops. 1st video being a 2:22 against Aoko and the 2nd being at 4:55 against Akiha.

I think it's actually the charged key hitting them at a certain height.  The earliest video of the bug in action had the person do like 7 charged keys in a row before it froze them.  Every time though, they were very close to the ground when it froze them.
