My lawl MBAC Casuals
« on: July 30, 2009, 02:28:08 AM »
Figured it would be borderline shameless to put this in along with introduction, so I'm tossing it up in here.

Every couple of days or so I go over to my friend's place (cause he has a nicer computer than me) and we throw down. Once I have enough videos of a specific character that don't look totally awful I slap them together and toss them up on youtube.

At any rate, you can check them out Here if you are so inclined.

Hopefully once Actress Again graces my ps2 I can figure out a way to continue uploading matches, unimpressive as they may be.
The lesson for me here is that even if the truth is as one suspects, it may still be without value

It takes a lot of courage to put up scrub casuals here (Courage that I lack). I salute you.

You seem to be learning at a fair rate. Heck, you don't seem new to the game at all. Can't say the same for your friend, though. He needs all the BnB and blockstring help he can get. What's with shortening Ciel's BnB like that? Is he even serious about MB?

But maybe it should be more about you. Personally, I think your Warc is more solid than the rest. But it's preference after all.

Play more advanced players if you yourself want to be more advanced.

from watching your shiki and warc theres not much you need to work on. just tightening up on some stuff like tech punishing and mixup.

Your friend could use a bit more practice in all departments, don't want to sound rude. One of the main things is theres so much he can do with Ciel. If hes really serious tell him to watch some videos online so he can see what other Ciels are doing. But one main thing is tell him to stop doing aerial knives and back b. he got one round due to lucky knives, but every other time it just led him into pain and suffering.

Looking at your Shiki vid you're actually doing pretty good and learning at a good pace. Just keep practicing and everything else will fall into place.

The Ciel player on the other hand brings back painful memories of me playing MBAC back when I first started. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just started.

I appreciate all the feedback from you guys.

Yeah, my buddy sure isn't anything to write home about at the moment, but he does seem to be getting better, slowly but surely. We both just started playing on and off about 2 months ago, but before him and I were friends (a couple of years back, now) he didn't really play fighters, whereas I played Guilty Gear with a different friend of mine religiously since XX was ported to ps2 (heck I even imported a Japanese ps2 to get Slash and later Accent Core), so I think that gives me a real leg up on our respective learning curves.

I think a lot of his problems are psychological, simply having a bad mindset against me, and my old Guilty Gearing friend isn't that big into Melty. I'm hoping once I have Actress I can bamboozle him into playing with me more, though, which would give us all a chance to switch up the matches and hopefully grow from it.

I'm hoping to have another set of matches up this weekend, but that's more if work allows me the time than anything else. I'll be sure to send my friend this way for some pointers. If he actually does it or not is kinda up to him, though, I guess.
