A preview of my next Melty Music Video. It will likely have tons of shenanigans included.

Insert "THIS IS MADDNESS!" quote here.

A video of some more F-Warc stuff I made.

The Melty shenanigans music video is lacking in content, and so is on hold until I get more funny stuff to put in it.

More F-Warc stuff, filling in the gaps of info in the videos I've already made as I find them.

I don't have time to right now, but later today I can tell you what I use to make my videos.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Okay, I use fraps to record. I know there are other recorders out there, but fraps works well enough with MBAACC. I record at 60fps, and I don't change that from recording to final encode. The resolution and aspect ratio you run MBAACC in will be what fraps outputs. I don't really change any of these properties of the video from recording to final encode, so just choose the size and ratio you want, but make sure the fps is 60.

Otherwise, your recordings will not be frame perfect representations of MBAACC play. The game runs at 60fps (not sure if you can change that), and changing the value for recording or at some other step to something other that what MBAACC is running at will result in either duplicate frames, or destroyed frames. So if the game is running at 60fps, and you record at 30fps, fraps will destroy half the frames to make it 30fps. I don't know which frames it will destroy either, it could be every other frame, or it could skip some and delete a chunk. The same thing will happen if the fps is changed at any point in production. If this does not bother you, then do what ever you want with the fps.

Once I have my footage, I import it into my editing software. Usually this is as easy as drag and drop. I use MAGIX Movie Edit Pro MX Plus. It costs $60-$80, but I'm sure you can find it cheaper online. There is also Windows Movie Maker that is on every Windows install. When I import, I make sure my settings are right for the footage, ei. the right resolution, aspect ratio and fps.

Once I have my footage imported, I edit to my heart's content. Once I'm done editing, I export uncompressed. It takes a lot of HDD space to do that, but I don't have to worry about the software messing up the encode using some bad codec.

I use a program called Zarx264gui to do my final encode to h.264. It's made to be used to encode AMVs, but it works very well with MBAACC too. You can download it here:
http://amvhell.com/stuff/zarx264gui/
I use version 1.41. That version requires that you also have the following installed:
.NetFramework (really for XP only, vista and above already have it installed.)
AviSynth, scripting software for video editing which you do not need to know anything about.
AviSynth is here:
http://avisynth.org
The version 2.0 might not require the above, but prolly will require quicktime.

If you don't want to use the gui, then you can just export from your editing software however you want so that the size of the file is manageable. Like mpeg2 is an okay codec. If you want to use the software I use, I can go into more detail about installing, configuring, and using it. Just let me know. It's not hard to get working, and the results are very good.

If you have any more questions let me know.

I've been in the process of recording and encoding all the replay footage from our trip to Houston where we met Inso. I'm recording and encoding at a higher quality than normal, so it's taking a lot longer and way more HDD space. I'll prolly have it all done in a week or so, but I'll upload them as I complete them.

;D. Thx.

Also, fuck a week. Try one day... somehow. Recording took way less time, and encoding finished in one night. The vids from out last meet-up are up on my youtube. 7 parts total.

I just noticed that one of my F-Warc videos is blocked in Germany.
I knew from my time there that the government black lists a bunch of media that would be protected in the states under the 1st amendment.
Well, I guess it's because of the music I used. It is called Bad Stone by The Crystal Method after all, so I guess it's understandable. I mean, what are they to think about a band with such a name.

Preferably, that durg addicts play kick ass, highly entertaining music.

I'm making an H-VSion Video Series.
Practical Combos Part 1 is done:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IU3Tenb-q4

I finished making this, and like normal, the song was too short to cover all the stuff I wanted to, but I really wanted to use this song. So I will make more covering things like: other combos I find useful to know, character specifics, common set-ups, simple blockstrings and resets, tech punishing.

Part 2 of my H-VSion series is up on my youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qgTK0mOMQ8
I might make one more with some of the stuff I left out of these 2, but it depends on how much content is left. I'm not sure if I can make a whole song from what's left.
Anyway, enjoy!

Well, Youtube is kinda being retarded. So one of the videos is not uploading properly. I'll have to re-record and encode it, and hope that breaking it into smaller chunks will be more to youtube's liking. But that prolly won't happen till after I get back home from vacation. So, like Monday.

TexasTim's MBAACC Recordings NEC13 Casuals
« Reply #39 on: December 11, 2012, 01:15:58 AM »
I uploaded the Casual sets from my laptop from NEC13.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUMIz8AyX1A&list=PLAN-unEFmGlQ7qDKq-_4xzodzYPYUFNn-

Edit: There is a problem with 3 of the uploads. Jimmy vs MadScientist, Me vs MadScientist, and Zealar vs MadScientist. All of them are longer, and the video cuts off at some point before it's suppose to. So it's going to take some time to figure out what the problem is. I might have to remake them from scratch, so that might take all day to re-encode.

Yeah it's at about 50%, work has been a little slow. Should have it done in a couple days, if I get any more work done on it tomorrow (not likely, with the meet-up.) BTW, my voice is going to be like real mono tone and soft. 1st way I found to get my shitty ass mic to not pop every 2 words... and I'm sticking with it...

Okay, so we had a meet-up last weekend, and I did stream it. My play was to upload the individual sets onto youtube with the commentary mixed in. However, there are some sync issues with the method I was planning to use that just aren't practical to work with. So I'm going to have to just use the archived stream recordings on twitch for the videos of our meet-up.

Bottom line is that next time I stream a meet-up, I need a way to record the audio commentary from the mic only, before it's muxed and sent to the stream, separately from the game sound and video, but still have the mic sound muxed and streamed.

Alternatively, I could just record new commentary of the recorded replays, instead of having live commentary. But, I don't think that will be as good and it will be more effort on my part, and I'm not sure I wana do that...

Anyways, the stream was archived and is available for viewing here:

Enjoy!

Uploaded some vids from our Maiden Voyage Stream. I felt kinda bad for not being able to stream last weekend, so enjoy!

5 vids. They are all FT3 sets.

I had a lot of trouble with getting the last vid to upload properly. I dialed in the max time window a little more though. It's somewhere between 14:13 and 14:31. Guess I'll just aim for the lower end of that. Maybe just to FT2 sets in the future.

Playlist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpzQRS-bnug&list=PLAN-unEFmGlQTf1AP8ufurK1iWZfEtCc3

Individual vids:
TexasTim(F-Roa) vs FishDuck(F-SAkiha)
TexasTim(F-Ries/F-Roa) vs Cookie(F-Mech)
TexasTim(H-Nanaya) vs Denthorn(C-Hime)
TexasTim vs Denthorn Salty Runbacks
TexasTim vs Denthorn Super Salty Runbacks

Lol! Yeah, I think he did not mean to cross-up, since he did j.B. And it reversed my inputs, so I got 214B instead of 623B... Herp a Derp...
