Important question about 5A whiff

did a search and couldn't find anything detailing the 5A whiff so I made this...  What's the purpose of 5A whiff after launch?  Do I 5A whiff after 2C>5C only or would I do it after 5BB as well?  I just want to know what it's purpose is and why do it at all...  my guess has lead me to 5A cancels 5C so any combo after the launch is unavoidable.  That's speculation though...  Someone put me in the right direction...x_x..

it's to cut the recovery after 5BB so you can do the aerial portion

I never actually got it. The aircombo does work even if you don't whiff 5A after 5BB, unless it's more general when you whiff and only works in certain situations/on certain characters when you don't.

I thought so.  So I should only do 5A whiff after 5BB or after 2C>5C as well?

yeah, 5BB doesn't reverse beat or anything so you get an easier aircombo and no penalty!

good point that in Actress Again you don't actually need to whiff 5A after 5BB, you can hyper jump cancel

That's good to know, I probably would of went in with intention to 5A whiff without knowing that lol.  We need a more comprehensive Shiki Tohno thread...did anyone see the Kouma Kishima thread?  It's fuckin' beastly. x_x
