Babby's first international tourney - A guide for mb player's survival @ evo2k

So, this year is Melty's first year being at Evo officially, and a ton of new players playing the game and have NEVER been to an Evo before. There are a number of specific details and guidelines I'd like to point out.

First of all, important people on Evo staff:
Joey Cuellar aka Mr Wizard
Tony Cannon aka Ponder
Tom Cannon aka inkblot
FMJaguar aka FMJaguar
jchensor aka James Chen

There are a few others, but these are the people you will primarily see as "Evo Staff." Now you asses can't say "WHO'S MR WIZARD DUR HUR"

With the recent events of huge sponsorships @ Evo, they have eliminated Money Matches on the floor, and side betting. Evo staff can't be everywhere, so use your best judgment for this (THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOUR ROOMS, not like they'll ever find out either). Public Intoxication is also a huge no-no. Not only will evo staff kick you out, you risk the hotel being mad at Evo staff, which is not a good thing.

If you have to take a shit during your pools, tell your fucking pool runner, don't just walk off, or they will DQ you with no questions asked. Be timely too, at other MB tourneys, it MB people running it, and they have patience (most of the time), but this is a huge tourney, and you will be dropped, and will have no 2nd chance. Also, don't try and start an argument with the person running your pool, it only delays shit and makes everyone aggravated. If you somehow make it to top 8 finals, BE THERE EARLY!!!! Don't make the same mistake A CERTAIN PLAYER OF A CERTAIN GAME DID and fuck it up for that game.

This may all sound like common sense, BUT PEOPLE ARE STUPID, and you guys would like to see MB at evo again, right? Also to make sure you read the rules over at evo2k.com.

Also you may have to do some walking in the god awful heat to find some good food deals. I know one of the hotels has a Little Caesers with the 5 dollar pie deal, I lived off that shit one Evo.

The heat is no joke.  Expect temperatures of 120+ F.  If you're going to be walking around in the daytime, bring a bottle of water.

Not only is it that it's a "family event," it's also because the HOTEL prohibits it. It's been an evo rule for awhile, but it was very lax. Now that Evo is big time sponsored...

Just some thoughts:

-Foreign players (and even some top domestic players) always get swamped with requests to play; try not to nut ride them. This is where social networking can be important -- the more people you know, the more likely you are to hear about when one of these players is sessioning. Remember, most have their own things they want to do too! If all else fails, you may want to entice them with some compensation (we can't discuss MMs, and frankly for most people a MM and a donation are the same thing).

-In regards to eating; don't stuff yourself at a buffet until AFTER you have played in the tournamanet. Trying to play at a high leve with the itis just does not work.

-Try to have some energy supplements on hand. These events run LONG, and the nights run longer. All-natural mixes are suggested; nothing is worse than crashing from four Red Bulls in the middle of a tournament.

-Stay hydrated. Even if you never go outside, the casinos cycle air so fast you will dry out like a prune, and
the body heat of 5,000 people furiously mashing will not help.

-Don't be retarded with your gambling. Not everyone is like Hevad (he'll, most people aen't like Kumubou in regards to this), and there's ALWAYS someone who gambles way too much and ends upbin deep shit. Understand how much you can afford to lose.
