Someone outta post up something about this in the Netplay section.

Also, for some reason under the player statistics in individual player pages some of the ranks will be (seemingly randomly) numbered 1 :, so you get stuff like three first places for everything (like on my page at the moment), or even weirder 1 :, 2 : and 1 : again.

For some reason the alignment on this page has been thrown off.  I thought it might've been the lack of different opponents but that doesn't seem to be the case.
http://www.meltyblood.de/CasterStats/detailedview.php?user=Snostrebla

In case I haven't appended this post enough yet, I suggest letting people pick their country when they register, I didn't even notice I was apparently from Mexico until I had uploaded my stats.

And oh yeah, make sure you implement some sort of spam filtering before all the interweb bots catch wind of the website.

And you need to remove the subject box in the edit page.

Thi weird design breaking stuff is weird. There is an extra </div> tag where none should be. This is propably because he has only 2 people in your opponent list. Fixed.

With the numeration, that I noticed too. Even on my profile it's this way at the moment. Fixed.

Country selection while registering will be included.

Spambot protection is going to get in there pretty soon actually. I don't want to have those on this site, too xD

Subject box is already removed in the edit-part, it was gay. Fixed.

VSion not appearing is simple. I checked the database and it's because noone registered plays VSion that much that she appears in the top 3. :V

Yeah, and... the stuff Kurii said before will be included, so every player gets stats for every character he plays. Also, the list will contain ALL characters in the personal ranking, not only top 3. This will then e.g. fix the VSion thing. The ranking method will be rewritten with a point system that's similar to the one Kurii mentioned. And what about a "Last fought" feature? Oh, and a nice signature image thing that will generate an image with your simple stats, so you can put it into signatures / blogs / etc.
Also, I'm gonna handle the sessionlog.txt uploading on the site with a "Send in stats" link where you simply can upload this thing and then your stats are updated.
But this just needs time, until then I can only do small things ;)

But jesus, THROW YOUR IDEAS in this thread! I appreciate them!

Yeah. I have searched the whole net for those and the ones you can find in the MUGEN screenpacks are small and suck. If you can deliver sprites preferrably on a black background and with minimum size of 200x300 I would be very glad. But until now I don't have any.

I mean, you don't want such crappy shit on the site, do you?

Ahh... I was confused for a while there.

Code: [Select]
Win Quota:
Matches: 333 out of 372 (90%)
Rounds: 3637 out of 4450 (82%)

I was wondering why the Match count was so low. You mean Sessions (not Matches), and I think you mean Matches (not Rounds)!

Suggestions:
This might be confusing with the terminology you have right now on the site. But maybe add different wording to the stat tables and different stat tables like:

Code: [Select]
Player Ranking:
x (y Points)

Win Quota:
Sessions: x out y (z%)
Matches: x out of y (z%)
Rounds: x out of y (z%)

Overall Win Percentage: ((<-- Should just be the percentage of matches you've won))

Match Details:
2-0: w
2-1: x
1-2: y
0-2: z

Most Used Characters (Matches):
1 : x (1655, 38%)
2 : x (1176, 27%)
3 : x (431, 10%)

Play Time:
Code: [Select]
Character Most Played Against (Matches)

Character Most Won Against (Matches)

Character Most Lost Against (Matches)

User Most Played Against(Matches)

User Most Won Against (Matches)

User Most Lost Against (Matches)

Longest Sessions Played With (Time)
Code: [Select]
Character Details (Sort by most used)
[Character Name] ( [matches played] [win percentage] [Match Details maybe] [Characters most won/lost against maybe])

Yeah, maybe something along those lines. Could add/remove some stuff depending on how much stress it'll put on the server. =O

The server stress is not the problem, the human stress, that is xD

It's a friggin' big amount of work. But thanks, those lines gave me some ideas. Thanks.

For those interested, the sessionlog uploading will be handeled on the site itself, making the CasterStats tool rather useless, except of the nickname correction. You will be able to enter several names you have ever used and those will be counted as your inital username. That means, in your profile, you can list your nicknames and get better results.
Also, this improves the linking system of the detailed view. A link to an user will be included if the name matches with the alternative names of him, too.
Of course, you can't enter names that are already used, that's obvious =V

1st update contains:
- Improved site
- More stats
- Security update
- ...Suggestions?

2nd update contains:
- Social networking (buddies, groups)
- Video uploading/linking/downloading (e.g. "Watch movies of/with user XY.")
- ???
- Profit.

And no, it's not fiction. It's actually pretty easy. Just needs time.

Ah, how about a "last updated" time for each player and a "Recently Updated" list?

About the ranking system: While I agree a point system would give a much less skewed representation of actual skill, I think you should keep some variation of the matches won ranking just so us players that suckhate nerodon't have very good win rates still feel like we're accomplishing something by playing more, because, after all, it's all about getting people to play more and interact.

Suggestion:

How about a Community/Group and a Clan/Guild/Team system?

A community/group can be where you can get a sub-ranking within members of that group only. It can be matches played within a certain community. And you can join more than one group. So a user can create a group and invite people (or people can request to join) that user's group and the creator will have to validate them. So I know for example Jen has a MB community on Deltaanime IRC, she can create a group and they can play each other and see where they stand or something.

A clan/guild/team can be like a group of 7 people (or some limit) and a player can only join 1 team. And you can do like team battles and get a point or ranking for each team victory. The winners willl probably have to send in the results themselves or something. You can have different team formats I guess, like 1v1 x (number of players in a team) [DETERMINED BATTLES or RANDOMLY PICKED] and the winner is the most wins. Or maybe like a player keeps playing each member of the opposite team until he loses or everyone on the team is defeated. So it's like a mini-tournament once a week or something like that. That'd be fun =O

Fixes:

http://meltyblood.de/CasterStats/charselect.php?char=Akiha
Maybe rank by the new scoring system. And add Win/Loss and Win%.

http://meltyblood.de/CasterStats/characterranking.php
Maybe only rank by number of players with the character as a top 3 most played. That way if someone has 5000 matches of character XX, it won't dictate when 70% of the community plays with YY. So it will be like 30/100 (30%) people have Akiha as their top 3 most played. And also add links on the character names.

The guild/clan idea would make more sense comparing with other guilds/clans rather then just inside 1ns guild/clan.

That's what I had in mind. The community/group would be rankings within the group. And the guild would be rankings among others.

Kurii, have you seen this? That's exactly what you are talking about.
Character ranking will be fixed soon. Just need to throw the results in arrays and sort them.

Also, I had an idea about a cookie system (Awards, what is in the left navigation since the beginning). E.g. you get a cookie called "Best Akiha player" if you are the best Akiha player, "Worst Akiha player", "Biggest average play time per day" etc. I couldn't realize it until now but with the new score system it's a piece of cake.
Post your suggestions for cookie awards here plz!

Oh, and if someone is interested in my bad pixel skillz:

I seem to be having a problem. The name "Master Pogi" is exactly as I spelled it in the mbcaster_config (including the space) and it is spelled the same way here. So, I let the CasterStats do its thing, and it recorded my stats perfectly. For some odd reason though, my stats do not appear on the site. I'm thinking it has something to do with the space in my name. And help would be appreciated.  :slowpoke: I am running Windows XP and my sessionlog can be found here

Thank you very much real!! The problem was that my stats were not displaying on the site after I let CasterStats record my statistics for the first time. I think that I maybe didn't press Enter after wards when the program ran the info (as real stated in my PM). He uploaded the stats for me and they worked. It was something on my end. Thanks again.

Questionably, it gives me an error when I try to upload my stats.  =(  I don't really know what specifics to give other than that it appears to begin running in the background but then the usual "CasterStats has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." appears.

The other oddity I notice is that if I have it try to correct nicknames, debug mode and my friend's IP (he didn't enter a nickname) are the only things to show up.  My nick of Malinor does not come up at all, even though it's inside the sessionlog.

I'm probably just doing or missing something silly, but I have no idea what it might be.  Halp.  <3

The nick Malinor not appearing in nickname correction is on purpose, since your nickname is your nickname.

Can you please send me your sessionlog via PN so that I may test it and also provide your operating system to me. Thanks.

The work on the new features from my side is going well, I'd like to ask you guys if you have any ideas for awards we could implement.
Anything is fine, be creative, they can be joke ones as well, like the "RAPE THE MAIDS award" I have in mind.
If possible, also specify which conditions could trigger the award :o

Longest Session (with # of matches). 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
Shortest Match (with time). 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. (I guess...)
Most Played Character (with # of matches). - Person with the most matches with any 1 character out of all players and all characters
Character Award - Most played with any 1 character (1 award per character)
Character Killer - Most wins out of all players against any 1 character (1 award per character)
Best with Most Popular Character (with # of matches). - Person with the most points with the most popular character atm. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
Best with Least Popular Character (with # of matches). - Opposite of the spectrum ^
Most 2-0's (and/or 2-1, 1-2, 0-2) and/or Least 2-0's ect.

Hello there! First poster and long time lurker here. I'm sorry to bother you guys like this outta the blue, but I think I need some help in getting CasterStats to work.

My problem is this:
I start CasterStats.exe, the little sexy window pops up. I choose Statistics and after that, Windows forces the program shut claiming it found a problem. After a quick glance at the readme, I seems the .exe should generate a CasterStats.log, but instead gets raped by windows. I have the latest MBAC patch (and the english patch installed) and I have the .NET Framework installed. Nickname defined. Can anyone provide feedback on this problem?

Here's a screenshot that may help:

Also, thank you for your collective work & development on this nifty little tool, guys! And on a final note:

Best damn image EVER CREATED! :slowpoke:

Simple thing. You just fought not enough. Some calculations need more than just one fight or session. This is btw mentioned in the readme.

Hmm, I thought that recommendation was only stat-wise, as in "your stats would be so low, your e-peen would shrink and fall off". Didn't know it would actually stop the program from functioning.

But I don't think that's the issue because I've probably had more than 50 fights in multiple sessions by now. Always against the same person (can this be a problem?).

One thing I noticed is that CasterStats stopped reading the session.log after a certain point for some reason. For example, I had a 35 fight session a few days ago that CasterStats completely ignored. And it seems that no matter how many sessions I have now, it simply won't update.

I have only fought against the same person so far, and since it is stressed in the readme that "It is RECOMMENDED to have played at least 10-20 times (with several people) online", I guess I'll try that next.

PS - Sorry for being a pain in the ass.
