When's Melty on Steam?
ahaha that's no--wait, what?

I bought the MBAA artbook, it arrived today. I'm gonna scan pretty much everything of interest. Just for today though, I did the character profile pages with the new art.
I'll do the faces, the cg endings, and the defence values/framedata later.

an important question for me:
how many pages???

Thanks for the scans! :D
-
an important question for me:
how many pages???
250 pages
most of that is movelists/framedata though
There are another 15 to 20 pages for the ending cgs and stuff still to go though, and the character mugshots
-
i'm quite interested in the C-Ciel movelist...

These look great, thanks for uploading them.

first post updated with some new stuff.
Scanning ending cg images later today.
Also, HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS EAT MY FILEDEN BANDWIDTH UP FAST. I'm looking into rehosting these on another server.
Kay here's the deal, I'm upping these to moe.imouto.org and will make a pool for it. All the actual art will go there. Framedata and other similar material is probably going to go on pukka's server, unless I can find someone who is willing to literally transcribe the framedata into text from my scans.
-
Ren defence is this high in mbaa? I had no idea.

I could put it all into text. I was like 75% done with the mbac v.b mook already. It'll just be a relatively slow process since I only have a couple hours every weeknight when I'm not working or sleeping. Weekends are completely free for me though, so I'll most likely get a lot of work done then (as long as you or someone else keeps on me about it, as I get sidetracked easily).
As a matter of fact, host them up on some small place and email them directly to me(check profile for email) as you scan them. This way I'll get constant reminders as you continually scan in shit and send it over. Sound good?
Also, for ease of a smooth and well formatted translation, is everyone cool with me making the frame data into an excel doc?
Defence Values
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/Defencevalues.jpg
Lol, wtf at Mecha's differing defense based on moon form. Crescent and Half are complete opposites. Bizzare.
-
Yeah, that sounds good. Sabator was interested in helping out with that too, and organizing a php database for it.
The biggest problem is that all the framedata in the scans uses move names instead of inputs, so I'll have to edit the scans to include the inputs so people transcribing can read it. (doesn't matter if you can read moon or not, since there are quite a few new move names anyway)
-
we were planning to transcribe the framedata as a group effort, since there's so much of it. If you want to do it yourself then you can go ahead I guess. Once all the data is out there I'm planning to build a mySQL database around it and give it a nice php frontend so you can search through it, for example by selecting your character and style from a drop-down menu, and entering search terms like "236C" or "arc drive". It should be easy to allow for things like, say, bringing up a list of every arc drive, or every heat animation, for comparison purposes.
-
Ren defence is this high in mbaa? I had no idea.
Higher numbers = less defense. That number is a multiplier.
Len has one of the only numbers above 1.0. That means if a 1000 damage attack hits her, she'll take more than 1000 damage. For like a 0.9 defense value, a 1000 damage attack will do 900 damage.
-

All the better! Last time around there weren't so many willing to help. Well, in that case, I suppose we should divvy up characters and stick to a set format that we decide on for listing everything out? Who all is going to help out?

Miyako face shot #4 is her taking a dump

1.4 100~75% for NA. Wrryyyy!? :slowpoke:

Cool =]
I'd like to help with the framedata's translation if possible =] (even if it's worse than GGXXAC's framedata)

great, great, great!
mine shipped yesterday from play-asia ;_;

Is there any chance to know what's written in the Actress Again logo between the "Actress Again" and the "Hologram Summer Again, Tri Hermes Black Land" lines? All images of that logo here and on the net are so small you can't even guess the letters.
-
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/scanlogo.jpg
I showed you the 9000x6000 but I'd rather it didn't suck up my traffic limit, and it's still pretty much unreadable even at that level.
:mystery:
Only 5 more ending cgs to do, then I'm gonna get started on framedata.
-
It's good for vectorizing! Sankyuu.
Edit: To be honest, it doesn't look like roman letters. There are no characters that look as odd as in the ending of the 2nd line. It seems like either japanese or some non-existing fake language OR some swirly kind of arabic letters. But I'm absolutely not sure.
Edit2:

-
All the ending cgs are up now. Uploading obscure framedata (dodges, dashes, heats etc) before the brunt of stuff.
Some character framedata up now.
-
The frame data is a bit more detailed in this one than in the MBAC vb mook. I see what you mean about having to go by name with everything. It's certainly easier to deal with that when you have the book to look at and cross-reference with the character pages to see what's what.

someone translate please :emo:

Thanks for the hard work.

someone translate please :emo:
Gimme a minute on it. I have to make sure I have each of the columns right AND work with Irysa on what input each move is before I start listing shit out.
-
I'm planning on actually finishing upping all the framedata for all chars before I start working out what's what, so the translation's gonna take a bit longer m'fraid.
In the meantime, 10 more pages of framedata are up.
-
It's all good. I'm in no rush. Just let me know when you're done and we can start the arduous process of cross referencing the moves and documenting them all. In the meantime, I'll go about figuring out the columns I'm still not sure on in preparation.
Oh, also I have a question. Does it show anywhere exactly how much guard meter you have? Because one of the columns is guard damage, and it'd be nice to be able to put that into perspective, you know? Knowing that x move does 200 damage to an opponent's guard meter is meaningless if I don't actually know how much your guard meter is at max.
Update
Pulsr, VeteMASTER OF FRAMES, and I have deduced what each column is.
Name | Startup | Active Frames | Recovery | Advantage | Hitstun | Damage | Red Damage | Meter | Guard Damage | Block | Cancel | Proration | Notes
-
That's all the framedata up now. Here's a guard meter info one, idk if it'll be useful for that.
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/guard.jpg
also, I need some help figuring out what some of the things related to bunkers and shields mean on the data. Although I've figured out the basic normal input readings so we can save time on that.
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/roastbeefframes.txt this has the listings from top to bottom in numpad notation.
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/asdf.jpg
the ones I couldn't figure are here in the image, if you can figure out what it's trying to say that'd be great.
-
Ah, I already knew what all the stuff in the normals were, I just need to know the specials and I'm good. Here's what you're confused on though.
Shield Bunker (214d)
Guard Cancel Shield Bunker (cancelling into 214d out of blockstun)
*Shield Counter (auto counter)
*- F/H only
Interestingly enough, only Half Moon's guard cancel shield bunker is any different than the normal shield bunker, having significantly less startup and recovery when guard cancelled at the cost of doing no damage (wtf?). Is it like that for all characters?
It has begun.
http://img403.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenf.jpg
I'll need to consult with the MASTER OF FRAMES again to make sure I know what everything is in the Cancel and Notes columns, but otherwise I (and anyone else) can begin working on this bitch. I find it easier for me to keep it organized through an excel doc, but a text file is fine too. Anyone who wants to work on this, post and lemme know. Let's try and keep everyone organized so that we can prevent multiple people working on the same characters and shit like that.
-
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/Roaframes.txt Roa move transcriptions.
I need help figuring out how his Crescent 22 series is supposed to work. There's like a billion different examples of 22 series compared to the other specials. Maybe these pages can suss you out.
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/roajunk.jpg
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/roajunk2.jpg
o.k, Voomers cleared this up. 22a and b charge his lightning counter. depending on how many counters he has, the 22c has different properties, which is why there are so many examples of 22c.
-
Pretty cool. You got a hair in the shot for the guard meter info lol.
-
Thanks, Irysa. Pretty awesome stuff.
[+Heat]
-
I think this book should come with a game soundtrack :V
-
Just bought this shit, coming in this week I hope.
-
I ordered mines on the 18th of this month and its suppose to be shipping around the 3th or 4th :V
-
Well, I brought the all the frame stuff to work with me today so that I could work a little on it during breaks, but I didn't realize the work computers don't have Excel. Still, I can easily just work into text files and copypasta into the excel files when I'm done. This is prolly better in the long run since I'll have a pretty and nicely organized excel file for myself and a text version for anything that might need it (or anyone who would prefer a txt file).
Btw, weren't there other people who were going to help out with this shit? You don't need to know the names of the moves to just start listing out the data. You can always insert the names in later as Irysa lists them out.
-
Full Moon Warc has a 4 frame crouch A. Damn!
-
I've been kind of busy, here are Sion's and Arc's transcribed specials.
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/Sionframes.txt
http://bokunenjin.se/irysa/Arcframes.txt
-
Thanks Irysa. Don't worry about taking your time. I hardly have any free time to work on it either, so it's bound to be a lengthy project.
-
I assume nobody will mind much if I start helping out with this?
I'll work on setting up Arc's data right now, unless somebody has started that and such.
-
I've hardly gotten any work done thus far, since I was planning on doing a lot this weekend and I didn't even end up coming home at at all. So far I've only done Reis, so have at it! I don't know of anyone else that's started helping out with it yet, so just post up here with who you're gonna tackle and I'll know to not bother with em. I'll just go to Roa next.
All I have to finish up atm for Reis is the notes and I'll post it up btw. I forgot to get it off my work comp tonight otherwise I'd go consult the peoples to make sure I know what's what in the notes.

I've got all the base numbers for Reis and Roa written down in txt files, ready to be prettied up. I just need to make sure I get the notes translated right, so I don't make any mistakes, and I'll post them up. Expect it to take a while, since my free time just got nerfed heavily.
-
I did this much. Someone fix all the stuff I couldn't read and just put down as question marks and I'll finish Sacchin.
-
Thanks for the help Ultima. This is SacchinC right? I'll prolly just go to Veteru to ask about what the questions are, since I wasn't sure either. I still have to ask him about the notes as well to complete Reis and Roa.
-

Yeah I'm planning on putting Full and Half on their own sheets. That sheet is labeled Crescent.
-
Also started a bit... on Ren. Also adding notes for moves from (one of the) JP character wikis.
Final edit: Ok, up on the wiki (in picture format, heh). Missing notes and translated wiki comments. More to come later...
There are a few spelling errors, but all the values should be correct.

no ryougi? pass :psyduck:

Started full moon. Transcribed all the inputs for every move + name. Probably won´t get as far with this as with crescent today.

can probably just copypaste most of it for maids, but I'll do them in a bit anyway
-
Full moon done, up on wiki.
-
On the wiki, where? o_O
Oh, the MBAA.wikidot wiki. Gotcha.
-
Yes, I was unaware of the meltybread wiki when I posted that :/ Excel documents can now be found in the Ren subforum.
-
Excellent work amn. Will you be working on the other characters as well?
-
Yes, I´ll probably move on after I am done with Ren. I am not sure with who, thinking of Akiha (even though Irysa transcribed the movelist already), but we´ll see. Whatever noone else is doing (and assuming I have enough time to complete it within a "reasonable" timeframe).
I know Irysa didn´t feel like breaking his book so some parts are rather blurry. It would be nice if someone with the book re-checked certain parts in cases where I am not able to "clearly see" the values/text(as I don´t personally have it nor plan to get it at this point). I´ll mark it with questionmarks if there are parts like that. Asked Irysa about most of the things I´ve encountered so far though.
Edit: Also (again), English isn´t my nativetongue so spelling errors are probably present, feel free to correct that though (and please PM with suggestions if you have better wording for certain things)....
Edit2: Ops, double post...Anyway, all diagrams for Ren done, tackling notes next...Documents attached in Ren character section. Comments for crescent moon translated. I am considering Akiha, Nero or possibly Aoko for the next one if they are "free", although I have a feeling someone might be doing it already >_>
Edit3: Ok, all notes are done. This is the first time I´ve translated these things though so errors might be present. Notes are obviously a bit cryptic so wording certainly isn´t the best, neither in Japanese or in English but it´s normally clear enough. セントエルモ notes are the ones I am not sure about, and clashing explaination might be a bit bad among other things, but it should serve its purpose. I´ll correct those when I can get in contact with someone that knows fighting game words a bit better than me (waiting for him to come online as we speak), but in the meantime, I´ll upload it to the Ren section.
Oh right, I would like information on what characters needs this treatment next since I am unaware of what lolisauce (and others?) are working on.
Final edit: Ok, got the sentances in question checked by sebasdoes and TakaJun, they were correctly translated even though it sounds weird. Ready to move on to another charcter.
-
Well, as of right now we have nobody besides yourself translating move names or notes for any characters. So far it's just been transcribing the numerical data and the input notation for each move. It would be much, much appreciated if you could start working your way through the cast taking care of those weighty obstacles.
As far as what is actually being worked on: I've finished Reis and Roa (with the exception of the notes and move names, of course), and I'm just moving down through the pages in order. Abstract has completed C Sacchin and was going to complete her other forms as well. A couple people have mentioned that they'd start work on certain characters, but they haven't been posting updates, so I assume that no progress is being made.
-
Perhaps I'll start working on a framedata format for the wiki that will fit. Might be difficult, though.
-
Perhaps I'll start working on a framedata format for the wiki that will fit. Might be difficult, though.
Can we import excel docs to display on the wiki? If not, just let me know the format and I'll make sure to collect them all and put them in the correct format before putting them on the wiki (or handing them off to someone else who will).
-
Attached is an Excel sheet (with macro) that will convert the contents to HTML table code. It helps a lot.
-
Beautiful

Abstract has completed C Sacchin and was going to complete her other forms as well.
Abstract? That was me :emo:
And I don't know if I'll do other forms any time soon. I've been busy and don't really feel like it.

Ah, shit. My bad. I was thinking Abstract for some reason because I read his thread on C Sacchin recently. =<
-
Alright. I think I´ll do Nero next. Probably next week or something though. Changing format to whatever is up on the wiki to make that easier for you (as in abbrivations and such).

Attention all Frame-Data peoples:
In order to make it easier to post and to save on valuable screen space, I've made a list of suggested abbreviations that have been used on Half-Moon Len's framedata.
http://www.meltybread.com/meltywiki/len/half-moon-len/
Please use this as a general template for posting frame-data. It's not formatted nicely, but I changed some notation and added spaces after every comma so that the table could add new lines for cells that had lots of crap in them.
Also note that the top headers for the data have been changed or abbreviated.
Advantage -> Adv
VS Damage -> Chip
Guard Damage -> Crush (think of Guard Crush)
Damage Correction -> Prorate
Notes -> *
NOTE: For pages with Frame Data tables, there is a specialized template marked as "Frame Data" that will delete the sidebar from the page. Do NOT use "Default Template" for pages like this or the table will spill over and look derpy.
Active Frame, Formula Notation:
10*2(5), 5
- 10 frame active
- x2 multiplier
- (5) frame gap
- , <-- Commas mark a break between hits, ADD A SPACE AFTER EACH COMMA!
- 5 frame active <-- the last hit
Adding the comma with a space afterwards for long formulas is absolutely necessary to prevent the table from overflowing. Please remember this! Also, the same sort of notation is used for damage (multipliers, commas).
Recovery Notation
Shorter is sweeter! Just use the word "Land" instead of when landing, etc.
Advantage Notation
- (D): Down, like a knockdown.
- (L): Launch.
- (S): Slam, aka Wallslam.
Guard Notation
- (H): High Block.
- (L): Low Block.
- (A): Air Block.
- All: All Block
Cancel Notation
- C: Chain into itself.
- R: Reverse Beat.
- J: Jump Cancel.
- S: Special Cancel.
- EX: EX Cancel.
- H: Heat Cancel <-- easier to use H than I, it's more visible from an editorial standpoint
Prorate
For "Multipliers", enclose them in brackets.
http://www.meltybread.com/forums/index.php?topic=2296.msg53474;topicseen#msg53474[/list]
-
You're missing two things.
Guard: All
Cancel: IH (heat cancel, frame data lists it as "I")
-
Ugh, I forgot about Heat Cancels. Thanks.
-
No prob. And good point on H > I. I agree that H is better.
-
Crescent Nero somewhat done. I´ve ordered the book since I had problems seeing the numbers/text in the scans. Will correct once it arrives. Excel sheet up in Nero character section.
Edit:
Oh yeah, VS damage should be the red bar "behind" your normal HP
Edit2:
Nero full moon done. Notes comming later though.
-
Well, because of dumb circumstances, I'm gonna need someone to help me out with transferring the MBAA frame data to excel to convert to tables for the wiki. So far I have Miyako all forms completely done and ready to be copy+pasted in, and I'm fixing Reis and Roa all forms so that they match with Arly's format. I'll be uploading them prolly tonight.
Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
-
We should keep doing what we always do and have people ask about framedata then make me look it up for them :(
-
Irysa, does c Miyako have a j.22? According to her frame data, that's what it looks like...but that just kind of confuses me.
Anyway, here's the txt files for Reis, Roa, and Miyako. They look gross and unorganized, but they're actually set up so that all you have to do is copy and paste them into excel, then just use the table converter macro.
A couple notes:
-There's still a couple kanji that I don't know floating around (mainly in Roa's data), so I just put question marks in place of them.
-I'm not sure how to list the frame data for the H/F moon shield counter, since it's not multiple hits. From what I can tell it looks like it's different things based on the state of the enemy. Same goes for Miyako's 214 dokan punches, and maybe some others that I'm forgetting. Should they be separated by commas as if they were multiple hits? That might be confusing for people. Maybe I should just separate them into three different rows or some shit? I dunno.
-There might be some weird errors here and there, since I originally had it formatted differently before Arly set the standard. I think I got them all fixed right, but there's still the chance I missed something or mistyped somewhere.
-I figured out Miyako's movelist just by what I know of her frame data and move names, so I may have some input incorrect.
-H Roa's 236c and 214c have their active frames listed in **1 and **2 at the very very bottom of his txt file. They're way too long to actually put into the active frames column. lol

Been busy lately but I should hopefully have the time to finish all of Nero by the end of next week. On another note, I am getting very confused as of what people are working on, and by that I mean complete framedata translation(and whatnot for the wiki etc) including notes and not just transcribing move inputs/numbers (progress post/thread maybe?). If just notes are missing, me or someone else could take that? It would save a lot of trouble if all the numbers are already in a document already since that part is kind of boring to do.
LoliSauce:
Try finding character wiki entries (if possible) for induvidual characters if you aren´t sure about move inputs, having the book also helps since it apparently has pictures with inputs and the move in question displayed. Nice work so far though!
As for questionmarks on Roa:
*Crescent 214A etc where your questionmarks are indicates additional inputs (such as activating certain things, I don´t know Roa at all so I don´t know what it triggers, possibly projectile activation as Aoko can do with certain orbs and Ren can do with reflectors?)
*294 (thir column, 22A hold) Largest (possibly maximum or greatest)
*Stock 9, and 7/8/9 says "note".
*22C b3 a3 is "strike" or "hit" and so on, b6 and b6 a1 etc is the same
*Last arc: Kanji means negative/non etc, but this refers to unblackable
* On Full moon airthrow it says "drop" or "fall"
*623A same thing as above...same with the two "?" below
*Again, unblockable on last arc
*Half moon again, fall/drop

she does have a j22 series
sorry for the really late reply. I'm fucking useless and lazy, I'll do more tomorrow, I swear. :psyduck:
-
It's cool man, don't sweat it. I'm not exactly getting them done like grease lightning or some shit either.
Anyway, here's Sion's stuff. As usual, there's some shit that I left as questionmarks, cuz I couldn't remember or didn't know what the kanji meant. Amn, if you haven't already pointed them out yet, give it a look and lemme know what they are.
-
"tomorrow" means, 3 days later.
really.

Ok, didn´t finish it, was out of town. Comming back in August, dunno if I´ll have time to finish what I said until then, possibly during this week, but yeah. I would like to have your excel/whatever file if you need something checked later on (and if you actually use it) since they probably are easier to read.

No prob. Right now I need someone to just copy+paste them into excel and repost them for me, since I didn't know that my bro's copy is an expired trial version until recently.

Is this what you're after, Lsauce? I could do this really quickly this week.

Yeah, that's the first step. Next I'll need someone to use those excel docs with the exporter to get them up on the wiki nice and easy. From there, editing is easy.
I'd really appreciate it if you could put em up in excel for me as I finish them.
-
Irysa, I got a guidebook now. You won't need to post up move notation for me anymore (unless others want it, but it looks like I'm the only one doing anything with the frame data).
-
I´ll be back next week and then I´ll be able to complete what I started > start something new. Don´t have anything I can work with with me, not that I have the time but yeah, you´re not alone! >_>

Cool now I can be useless without feeling guilty

Sorry amn, I didn't mean to forget about you. You've been the only one besides me that's put in a significant amount of work. I really appreciate it!

Someone please sticky this fucking thread already.
-
better yet, someone help wikify the rest of the data. I hear that Kohaku page has a nice template.
-
I vote this as best thread on forum. seriously top notch.

Is most of the frame data from the arcade version applicable to PS2?
-
verA > ps2? Yup. You can use frameviewer to confirm most of the data.
-
Seifuku Akiha scans from the ps2 guidebook. (http://www.mediafire.com/?y8076bbtyzeqnp5)
Contains:
-sAkiha section cover page
-sAkiha frame data
-sAkiha frame data notes (eng) in txt file
The files are pretty huge. I didn't take the time to clean and resize them down, but I did jot down the notes since they are probably hard to read in most of the pages. I scanned her cover page for the names > notation movelist.
Thank Zar for prompting me to scan this.

Thanks for data scans, LS. The info provided was very insightful and has inspired me to try a bit harder before throwing in the towel. Got some "cool" stuff in the works for cSaki and a vid series may or may not be on the way (depends on general interest or whatever).

I'm interested as well. I've been playing her a bit. She's a lot of fun.

Another vid series would be awesome

pukka's server died.
If you need the framedata, I still have my scans, etc, please PM me, post here, or yell on irc if you particularly need something. Considering how many versions we're behind now I kind of doubt anyone really cares about this anymore though, and there's still framedisplay etc.
EDIT: its alive again

If it's not too much of a pain I'd like Warc, Wara and Nanaya's data since my computer is a complete piece of shit.
-
Hi, sorry for taking so long with this...long story short is I had to go dig out my really old pc/harddrive and was having difficulty finding the correct stuff needed.
I decided since it's such a hassle I'm going to just rar the entire thing and dump it, have fun.

I've also put this in the front post.

Sorry for the trouble. Thanks mate.
