Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver.B2 in arcades is being reverse ported to the PC.
Ecole will begin selling it in June for 6090 yen.
Arcade mode, training mode, and survival mode are all implemented, and it has the same replay functionality as ReACT.

YES! I can finally play MBAC despite my shameful lack of ps2!

(About netplay, I expect some random Japanese person will make it soon enough, otherwise I'll see what I can do about it myself (I was porting the EFZ EX netplay to MBRFT, which obviously I'll stop doing now since we're getting a newer version))

If there is netplay, then hopefully it doesn't suck anywhere nearly as bad as Re-Act.

Same. It also means we can have 5 copies of the game running on laptops at gatherings, all being recorded with super replays.

USB converters, those radio shack ones work very well and LAPTOPS!! and Micro PC's!!!!

PS3 sticks work on PC too, looks like ill be buying one of those sintead of digging around for a PS2 one.

: F9|Chibi April 23, 2007, 08:07:45 AM
Bro, we were running MB tournaments pre-FT.

If it was on a laptop that shit was annoying as hell because you'd have 10 people crowded around a small ass screen.

Then when Sp00ky buffed up his PC he had to drag the thing across 10 blocks and lug it in the subway just so we could hook it up to a TV to local tournaments.

It's just really damn annoying, especially at bigger tournaments / majors.

I really hope they come out with a PS2 port already, like ASAP.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Animeruko April 23, 2007, 09:12:28 AM
Most good laptops have a TV output, Infact allmost every laptop these days has one so its not a really big problem anymore.

Just carry an S-video to composite converter and a headphone jack to RCA jack converter and some RCA cables and your set. Then it would be just like carrying a really expensive PS2 around . .  oh cant forget a pair of USB converters all this stuff fits nicely into a laptop bag too.

But i guess a PS2 version would be good too.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Zaido April 23, 2007, 09:50:42 AM
the thing with laptop is converter for sticks are not as promising as stick used directly to ps2 and the thing is some people dont' own.. and thing with laptop is if the laptop might lag the game sometimes too :o..

French Bread Narita's famous complaints on his blog is back:

http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~k_wata/zaki.htm
"PC Version Melty
We're having so much difficulties that we regret doing it.
It's like we're not finding problems in a positive manner, but in a negative way.
There's no progress but only troubles.
I guess this is payment for making plans without thinking ahead.
Atoning for our past sins now.
Half of the reason for the postponement is this, but to be honest
I personally thought the initial release date of late June was harsh.
We'll do the best... The programmers that is.

Dot Sprites
There isn't any characters to add from Tsukihime in the first place, but
it takes a lot of time to make them so please understand...
(Especially the people in the Arcade industry.)
Do you believe that its easy since we're using an outdated low res sprites?
There are some where only one artist and an editor working on it by themselves.
1 character may take almost half a year to make.
Well, I know Melty became commercial so
I understand we can't always be complaning but...
We'll try our best to live up to your expection... The graphic artists that is."

Does the last sentence sound like a new character or what?
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: F9|Chibi April 29, 2007, 07:33:35 PM
If they put a new character in there I'll fucking kill them.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: AkiraTheMastodon April 30, 2007, 02:39:33 AM
Who is even left for a new one anyway...
What. Roa? SHIKI? Altrouge? BLUE LEN?
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Tropsy April 30, 2007, 03:27:05 AM
If we're going strictly by Tsukihime, all I can think of is... Arihiko? Makihisa? Roa/SHIKI/etc?

But we already have Kouma/Len/etc who aren't Tsukihime characters, so... Akira? Nanako? Zelretch? Crimson Moon? Hanei? Souka? Princess mode Arcueid? Some of them don't really see to be reasonably capable of fighting others (Arcueid, Nero, etc.), but we have HisuKoha and the like in the game already, so... If they limit themselves to Tsukihime/Kagetsu Tohya characters (as they seem to have done so far, other than joke/original characters) there aren't that many possible choices left.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Arlieth Tralare April 30, 2007, 05:01:10 AM

: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: mizuki May 05, 2007, 10:05:54 AM
Len was in Tsukihime. VERY minor role iirc. She only appears to give Shiki his orgasmic wet dreams.

Oh, I doubt a new character would appear. If they were to have True Shiki/Roa appear he would have to be a fear, but he's no one's fear.

: Arlieth Tralare May 06, 2007, 03:44:32 PM
He's dead, yo. And I don't think Kouma's really scared of Kiri enough for a Tatari manifestation.

I'm thinking either random Kagetsu Touya character or (gasp) Kyokai (Shiki Ryougi or Touko Aozaki). It'd be neat if Shiki Ryougi was dual-wielding her knife and sword, 'cause then you can put a whole crapload of clash frames on her attacks XD~
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC

Just so that people don't misunderstand.  The last line

"Does the last sentence sound like a new character or what? "

is Evospace commenting.  It wasn't part of the blog statement.  Of course that doesn't rule out a new character, but don't think it's French Bread saying that line and assume a character is coming.

Characters named Shiki with knives and death perception are the new shotos.

If Iam not misstaking anything here, it is said that it will arrive in late july. Like most japanese games it might require your local settings to be japanese or it might work with applocale. Note only 2 characters fighting, but the health bars for four characters are there.  Perhaps it's more like a MvC2 system with tags or maybe the other characters are just support chars that you call in for a quick assist?  *shrugs*  Yay for speculation.

Personally though, I hope that the new mode isn't just a 4 player all out brawl like Isuka.  =\  There's too many issues that come up with that.

NO PS2 RELEASE PLZ.

Come on. Think about it.

PS2 version is bad because it doesn't have a progressive scan mode. I have component cables but I still have to put up with interlacing which throws my game off.

PC version runs at 60 FPS progressive scan. Exact frame timing? No problem!

Also, the screenshots for tag team battles have been replaced with normal screenshots on Ecole's MBAC webside (http://e56.info/mbac/). Sad. Were we fooled? D:

If you're talking about HDTV lag, you likely still have HDTV lag coming from your PC, even though it's progressive, because it's not scaled to your TV's resolution. Melty Blood runs in 640x480, which scales to a standard def TV as 720x480(non-square pixels). Either way it's a lot lower than a HDTV resolution, so it'll likely still lag...but not as much as an interlaced signal will.

If they do a ps2 release, I hope they include a progressive scan option. At this day in age, it's harsh to do ignore that.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Choco May 22, 2007, 12:50:09 AM
There might be a hack I can find out that will upscale the game to my native resolution. If not, I have plenty of CRT monitors to play on. :D :D

**EDIT** - Also, since the signal will be coming through VGA, I imagine things will work out just fine on my HDTV. It's not even an HDTV, but a 37" 8ms monitor. If there are still problems with that, then 20"-CRT-I-Picked-Up-For-Six-Dollars-From-Goodwill, here I come!

I was going back through all my old OSTs and such and I found my old one from the earliest versions of Melty Blood.  God damn, they need to redo some of those songs and re release them for this version.  Especially the character select song, its so much better in its old form than the current ones we have.  The opening needs to come back too...

Is there any way to post suggestions on the mb site because i would REALLY like to see a beefed up training mode for pc. Can you say record mode or crouch guard all or stand guard only or progressive guard?

as for mbac verB2 being on ps2.....uuuhhhh.....no. they wont get the speed correct im certain of this. hell im kinda skeptical about pc ver having the correct speed.

and for you pad/keyboard warriors: dont do it to yourselves. If you intend to play this game competatively and should mb one day blow up w/ a possibilty of sbo qualifiers being on the table....YOU WILL BE SAD  :emo:

I wouldn't think getting it right for pc would be a real issue because programming for that platform offers the most flexibility. You are not limited by having to optimize for the complete junk that goes into a PS2...or pretty much having to optimize at all. But we'll see...for now I'm just happy to get the latest stuff =)

Also, what if the new character isn't original? What if it's another tag-team like HisuKoha? But then again... who would team up? ((XD Maybe a pair of Mecha-Hisui's?))

It's a matter of principle for me. Yes, the torrents would be up on launch day and hell I'd probably get it faster through them than by ordering it. However, since mb is the only thing I play, I believe it is only appropriate to show support for the maker and get a legitimate copy.

That way not only am I up to speed, but also am able to tell Sony to suck it and avoid the crappy playstation >.>

Usually the order will be shipped on the day the receive it. The amount of time it takes to get to you all depends on the shipping option that you choose. They give you a rough estimate when it should arrive.

Theres nothing wrong with being able to use a keyboard effectively for a fighting game, especially seeing as how some of us don't have access to either pad or stick. Personally I'd love to see a keyboard alternative for games that are only available for console, because that is the environment I perform the best in.

: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Choco July 20, 2007, 01:34:38 AM
Well, that's just the issue. They can buy it and wait, but all that will happen is they'll be waiting while the rest of us play. The fair use point of view is that someone had paid for it, and they want to use their product as soon as possible, so they can either wait for a physical copy, or download someone's other copy until the downloader's own copy comes in. It's a gray area, for sure, and completely based on personal preference. However, I think the download in this case is completely justified.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Soniti July 20, 2007, 02:25:40 AM
I'm with Choco on this one - if they have paid for it, downloading is totally justified.

Alright, so I placed my order for the limited edition and when I checked out, I got a message saying "One or more products are currently not in stock." I tried this for the regular one too and got the same message. I was wondering if anyone got this same message when they placed their order. Does this mean that the only reason it's not in stock is because the order is being placed before the release date? Or are they giving me that message because they are sold out already (and not taking pre-orders anymore)? Common sense would say they're giving me that message because the game hasn't officially been released yet and I'm placing the order before then. Sorry if this sounds kinda dumb but I'm just looking for a little clarification. I really hope it's not the latter of the two.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Light_Nazgul July 24, 2007, 02:15:37 PM
Playasia makes you check a box acknowledging you know the item is on preorder and not in stock. They just want to make it clear that the item will not ship right away. Then it lets you know again at the end. It has done the same thing to me with other games.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Raoh Punches Faces July 24, 2007, 06:17:21 PM
play-asia does that mainly for when you pre order an item and have another item that is instock just to let you know that the order will ship out together as soon as the preorder arrives...i guess urgring people do seperate orders if they dont want to wait for the instock items.

so h-f blade no fret i order from play asia alot and they usally ship a day before ship date as well..and pretty fast on shippin i live in NY and i get mine in a week.

: Escobar July 25, 2007, 01:00:28 PM
I'm pretty much a tool when it comes to sexy packaging or extras, so I'll have to wait and see exactly what the limited edition is like before I order...though it's tempting to go with the regular edition now, since the limited one is apparently not shipping until the 27th.

Have to make sure the extra cash is worth it's limited-ness before I go with that one though >_<.

Or is it just exactly the same shit with a two disc OST on the side?

Ok so it's a relief to know that I was able to place my order knowing that they weren't out of stock. Too bad I'll have to wait another 1-2 days for it to ship since it's limited edition. -_- Is there any source out there that confirms what exactly comes with the limited edition? There's no description for it on play-asia.

Hmm, this is the first time I've ever seen a patch come out so quickly for a newly released game. I guess they must have noticed something wrong after they shipped it out to the disto's?

Well I guess I should list the bugfixes I've read about:
- All the sprites are now displayed using DirectX9.
- The memory used during battle was decreased.
- The player can skip the game over screen.
- Other misc bug fixes.

Also does anyone know what this is all about:

some team name translations provided by Kamatari:

Tohno Akiha + Tohno Shiki = Iroiro Aru Kedo Nakayoshi Keimai = "Though there are some things between them, a brother and sister who really get along"

Kohaku + Mech-Hisui = Kohaku Kyoui no Tekunorojii = "Kohaku's Fearsome Technology"

Neko-Arc Chaos + Kohaku = Mai (something... the kanji is too blurry), Ore no Tabako ni Hi wo Tsuke na = "(something), give me a light for my cigarette"

Kishima Kouma + Arima Miyako = Shugendo to ka Kenpo to ka = "Such as Shugendo or Kenpo..." (i.e. fighting styles that members of the team know)

The select button.. Yeah, for some odd reason it doesn't recognize the start button in-game on the HRAP2 (it does in the game controller control panel though >_>).

Press and hold D when you start with Neco Arc Chaos in Arcade Mode (I think you should hold it until after you choose his color). Well, that's sorta what I did after remembering that fighting against G.Akiha required the same process.

Edit: If you used him previously in Arcade Mode, move the cursor on another character, then go back to Chaos. THEN press and hold D to choose Neco Arc Chaos, and hold it until after you choose his color, otherwise it doesn't work. Finishing this story also unlocks Giant Chaos 666 mode as a separate mode similar to Giant Akiha Attack mode in Final Tuned, except it actually shows up on the menu. Continuing if you lose doesn't seem to affect getting it at all, it seems. :slowpoke:

So I take it everyone here grabbed the regular edition?

I ordered the limited edition.  I think Jyuunishi/MSong also did.

I'll post up pictures when it arrives.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC

I started Arcade Mode with Neco Arc Chaos for the first time and got a dialogue where he says HD DVD or something.  Then Kohaku / Dr. Chin shows up and says shinbun, shinbun... (newspaper).

Then I accidentally closed MBAC.

And when I started up Arcade Come with Neco Arc Chaos again, I didn't get the dialogue.  Instead he gave a monologue.  Did I miss something?

Press and hold D when you start with Neco Arc Chaos in Arcade Mode (I think you should hold it until after you choose his color). Well, that's sorta what I did after remembering that fighting against G.Akiha required the same process.

Edit: If you used him previously in Arcade Mode, move the cursor on another character, then go back to Chaos. THEN press and hold D to choose Neco Arc Chaos, and hold it until after you choose his color, otherwise it doesn't work. I've done a bit of testing and I can confirm a couple things about PS3 sticks for this game:

-The HRAP3 (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-70-1rrr.html) will work great out-of-the-box.  Just like in any other PC app.  Simply the best PS3 stick option that'll also function on a PC.
-The VSHG (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-70-1rjw.html), surprisingly, also works swimmingly out-of-the-box.  A quirk of this stick, if used on a PC, is that the stick input will be read as POV/hat input.  Interestingly enough, MBAC Ver.B will read POV input just like axis input, so there's no need for something like joy2key, which is an often-required work-around for other programs.

I have a HFS3 (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-15-fight%2Bstick%2B3-70-1o24.html) available to me, so I'll test it out later and get back to you peoples.  In general, don't get this stick if you want to make sure you get something that'll work on PC.  All the driver options I've tried have never worked on any system I've tested.

I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but I think the VSHG feels a bit more sensitive than the HRAP3 in MBAC.  I'll get more hands-on time with my friend's HRAP3 w/Sanwa buttons soon and try to verify.

If anyone is considering either the HRAP3 or VSHG, here are a few things to think about:
-The HRAP3 will work better with games other than Ver.B.  Unless all you'll do is play in MAME.  In which case, either stick will be just as good.
-The HRAP3 has Sanwa stick and Hori buttons.  It's a generally accepted practice to swap the buttons with Sanwas for the genuine JP arcade feel.  The procedure is made simple by quick disconnects, so it's not hard, but it is still an extra expense on a stick that's already more expensive than the VSHG.
-The VSHG is cheaper overall and has entirely Sanwa parts.  It is also harder to get because it is, from what I gather, the preferred stick for PS3.
-If anyone has played on any prior HRAP or the Tekken 5 stick, you'll know the basic feel of a HRAP3.  The VSHG feels overall more solid and substantial.  The case is slightly smaller than the HRAP3, but it is heavier.

Either way you can't go wrong with either stick.  I personally have a VSHG and I'm thinking of ordering a HRAP3 & Sanwa buttons soon.

the POV hat quiry is also on the XB360 controller, but also works on mbac right out of the box..

i'm using the T5 US stick, which works just fine except for the start button. Map it to Select instead...

I've done a bit of testing and I can confirm a couple things about PS3 sticks for this game...

Are either the HRAP3 or the VSHG backwards compatible with the PS2? I thought I read somewhere (Most likely on the Hori website) that the HFS3 is not so I was just curious about these two.

If you're asking whether they're usable on a PS2 console, no, none of them work.  All PS3 sticks are USB.  And although PS2s have USB ports on front, USB peripherals need to be supported in-software.

If you're asking whether they're usable on the PS3 playing PS2 games: yes.  Although this is a bit sketchy because the last few firmware updates have been fixing and breaking compatibility of these sticks with PS2 games.

Hmm, that puts me in a tough spot then, I was hoping to be able to snag a decent (Read: cheap) stick that I can play cross platform between the PS2 and PC. I guess I might have to give that dream up though.

Thanks for the info.

The problem might lie in the fact that Vista uses DirectX 10, and 1.01 changes the rendering of MB to DX9. There may be an incompatibility issue. Anyone tried to set Windows compatibility in the exe file properties to a different setting?

Er, no... I don't have a DX10 compatible card, so it's still DX9. Good call on testing the compatibility settings... I'm going to make a copy of the folder and try to patch it and see if I can't make it work.

Then again, the game stills reports my DirectX version as 10, 9 doesn't seem to want to reinstall (but yes, it's there), and XP compatibility mode just doesn't work, period. I am baffled and frustrated! It's only the screen before a fight, though... nothing else seems to set it off.

i'm running this game on windows vista business, amd athlon xp 2400+ (2.0ghz), ati radeon x1300 256mb, 1280mb ram. my main beef with this is that i have frame rate issues. i have to set the FPS to 70.00 otherwise if left at the default 60.00 i can only get a maximum of around 55FPS thereby making gameplay just a little bit laggy. anyone else getting this problem?

also if you press F12 in game, it enables a filter that basically blurs out the pixels. (in case you haven't tried this yet)

Grave, try running the game by (right-click properties) disabling visual themes, desktop composition and display scaling on high DPI settings. you can also try running it as an administrator

also if using fraps (in windows vista), don't run the game as an administrator or else fraps won't work.

Truthfully speaking, this doesn't feel as slow as the arcade version.

Hey, has anyone had freezing problems where the game and sound still go on, but the video gets stuck?

If you're referring to the immediate start of the game then yes. I'm assuming that there is some sort of opening video but everytime I start up the game all I get is a black screen with the opening music playing to completion, then the menu pops up. Luckly the opening song is only a few minutes long so I got to the menu screen before I started to panic...

...So far though I've come across no other problems other than that...

I have to think it's something about the effects on the vs. screen, but what baffles me is the fact that yeah, 1.0 still works fine. When I was screwing with the patch, I just made a duplicate of my game folder and patched that so I didn't lose my working installation.

So yours can get past the vs. screen sometimes, but it crashes others? Even weirder.

well, the vista computer with 1.01 is extremely fast, so i only need to see 1-2 secs of the versus screen before i'm allowed to skip it, and it crashes before the thick white bars cross. I'm guessing it has something to do with stuff in the background loading.

Kohaku, a.k.a. "Doctor Amber", is the nefarious mastermind behind the whole event.  Basically, she lured Neko-Arc Chaos into his whole journey by throwing a copy of her bogus "Kohaku Shinbun" newspaper through his window.

... Oh, heck, I might as well synopsize the whole Neko-Arc Chaos storyline.  I'm doing these mostly from memory (I don't have a video of the playthrough to use for double-checking), so please excuse a few inaccuracies here and there.

Beginning of game:

Neko-Arc Chaos had just finished sitting through a massive anime marathon.  He remarks that "HD-DVDs are a marvelous thing."  Papergirl Kohaku then rides by, shouts "newspaper! newspaper!" and throws a newspaper through his window.  Neko-Arc Chaos goes "hmm?  A mysterious, window-breaking newspaper... well, let's see what it says, shall we?"  Among the things that he reads:

-- TCMC, Team Chaos Monster Cats, will air at the conclusion of baseball.  Neko-Arc Chaos: "Well then, must remember to set my timed recording for 2 AM for that!"

He then flips to the classified section:

-- Nero in critical condition, soon to go to heaven.  Neko-Arc Chaos: "Yeah... whatever."

-- A congratulatory proclamation for someone's wedding.  Neko-Arc Chaos: "Mmm... I wish you the best, as well."

-- Someone's trying to sell a "jar of happiness".  Neko-Arc Chaos: "...Oh heck no!  I've already bought 300 fake jars like yours!"

He eventually sees the following entry:

-- "Chaos, please contact me.  George in Hollywood."  Neko-Arc Chaos: "George in Hollywood... No way!  Could it possibly be ... Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucas?!  He wants to talk to me?  I must be off at once!  You just wait, ILM (the "L" is bleeped out :P), a new Superstar shall be born!"

Mid-Boss (Damien Armies):

Neko-Arc Chaos: "And so, through the tunnel, here I am. (in an abandoned factory with tons of Neko-Arc Chaos in the background and occasionally Sacchin peeking in)"

Mysterious Voice: "Welcome to the party.  You're the 666th entrant to our splendid audition to decide the next Celeb Neko.  This is our magnificent stage."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh?  No matter how you look at it, it looks like an abandoned factory..."

Mysterious Voice: "Oh, how keen you are.  But then, that's to be expected, considering that you are me and I am you..." *reveals himself as a clone of Neko-Arc Chaos*

Neko-Arc Chaos: *Shocked* "You are...!  It can't be, but you are...!  In other words, you are...?!"

Mysterious Voice: "I am a copy of you, geez!  I'm one of the copies who pop out whenever you use Down, Down + B or C, sheesh!  My name is Neko-Arc Black!"

Neko-Arc Black: "So, we meet at last, Original... Or should I say 'he who was the Original'..."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh?  By that, I infer that you mean to vanquish me and take my place?"

Neko-Arc Black: "Indeed.  I am the most powerful Neko in all of America, and I deserve the spotlight.  But I won't be doing this alone.  Here, let me introduce you to my team -- the Damien Force."  *A second Neko-Arc clone appears*

Neko-Arc Noir: "I am Neko-Arc Noir ("noir" is "black" in French).  I aim to be the first Neko honored by the Macademy (a parody of the Academy that presents the Oscars)."  *A third Neko-Arc clone appears*

Neko-Arc Schwarz: "I am Neko-Arc Schwarz ("schwarz" is "black" in German).  I aim to be the first Neko to be rendered by Pixar into full 3-D CG."  *A fourth Neko-Arc clone appears*

Neko-Arc Nero: "All of America makes me cry.  I am Neko-Arc Nero, and I am the last line of defense."

Neko-Arc Black: "And now we must stop you.  For it is her (actually, he says "aitsu", which is a gender-ambiguous pronoun... but we all know who he's talking about) will."  *Fight begins*

Before Boss Battle (Neko Chaos Black G666):

Neko-Arc Chaos: "So this is the luxury liner, Golden Don, that leads to Hollywood...  Is that right, o beautiful lady over there?"

Kohaku: "That's right!  This is the ship (furigana reads "trap") that will make you a star (furigana reads "send you to the stars")!"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Hmm... Somehow, your words make me uneasy.  Aren't you the one who delivered that newspaper?  It's not one of those sinister papers who lead you to your death, is it?"

Kohaku: "No way!  My Kohaku Shinbun provides "clean" news that is without smear campaigns, sensationalism, unnecessary publication lags, missing words, or typos!  I've got to use it to trick Shiki-san every morning, after all!"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh, Glasses (referring to Shiki)...  Such a sad life you lead, being lied to all the time... If you weren't such a commendable sociopathic killer, I'd be lamenting your gullibility more..."

Kohaku: "Well, anyway, it's time to board the ship to your dreams!  Since you've gotten this far, don't even think of backing out now!  That means, all you noobs and untrained combo artists playing, that it's too late to quit now!  If you do, I'll start by erasing the folders on your hard drive one by one!  How's that for incentive?"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Well, I dunno... You've got a bomb strapped under the table here and a torpedo tied to the chair there... I don't think I'll be boarding."

Kohaku: "Grrrr!  Why are you so difficult!  Neko-Arc-san bought into everything so easily!  I was able to send her (and her various copies) walking off the plank like so many lemmings!  Oh well, time to reveal my ultimate weapon!"

*dialogue boxes disappear momentarily and Kohaku shouts "come on, Black G!" as Neko Chaos Black G666 descends*

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Wh-What is this?!  A long-lost relic of ancient Earth civilization?!"

Kohaku: "No, no, no.  It's my ultimate weapon -- the fruit of careful observation and scrupulous planning!  It's designed for the perfect and complete extermination of all Neko-Arc creatures on Earth!  Hate to tell you, but you don't stand a chance!"

Neko Chaos Black G666: "That's right.  In order to destroy all the Neko-Arcs, I will even snuff out the sun if I have to!"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "So... That means... that the request from George is..."

Kohaku: "...my strategem!  I used it to lure you out here! (heart mark) [Yes, the text actually had "(haato maaku)" written there]"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "And the rebellion from the Damiens is also..."

Kohaku: "...my strategem!  That was my way of making sure there's only one left for me to get rid of! (heart mark)"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "And Shion's infinite combo...?  White Len being a tsundere...?"

Kohaku: "*menacing voice* All of that was my doing! *normal/cute voice* Kyaa!  I've always wanted to say that!"

Neko Chaos Black G666: "And now, Original, is the moment of truth.  Time for you to face your demise!"

Kohaku: "That's right.  My Black G is programmed to be a complete copy of Mr. Chaos' power.  Black G, show him the power of your 666 (the furigana for 666 reads "fujimi" which means "invincibility")!"

Neko Chaos Black G666: "Normally, my programming dictates that you would have to defeat me 666 times.  But I'll waive that and make it so that 2 rounds will suffice between us."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Yes, I thank you for that.  I'm rather anxious to see the new ending scenario they designed for me specifically for this release of the game, after all."

Neko Chaos Black G666: "Okay, then... Let's get it on!"

*Dialogue boxes disappear and are replaced with calligraphy-style writing that says "Believe in Chaos, Nero, and Melty Blood! -- Kohaku (with her emblem reading "Happy New Year")*

Neko-Arc Chaos's post-Boss Fight Quote:

"Hmm, I sense a core overload explosion coming...!  Super Jet Mode activate!  Goodbye, Earth!  Have a good time without the likes of me around!"

Ending:

Neko-Arc Chaos: *In space* "Now then...  It was a good thing I got out of the way of the explosion of that robot, who had to have been enough of a bomb to destroy the Earth 666 times over."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh?  What's this?  Instead it's covering the Earth with a shockwave whose only result is to make all the shrimp jump out of the oceans?"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh, well done, Doctor Amber.  To think of powering your giant robot through the energies of kindness..."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Oh well, I'll just take it easy out here for a while.  No. 4 will be along to get me in a little bit."

Neko-Arc Chaos: "What's that?  Our anime spinoff plan failed and so there won't be a No. 4 unit made?!"

Neko-Arc Chaos: "Hellllllllllllllllllp Me!!!  Forget No. 4, I'll take the International Emergency Relief force!"

Kudos to Kamatari again :>

It's stuff like this that makes me wish you could play as Neco Arc Chaos at the arcade.

*looks at everyone*

Err, you CAN'T use him in the arcade version, right? :slowpoke:

Don't think it's been discussed yet, but are the System Voices still unlockable in the PC Version, tried beating the Survival Mode with Hisui and Kohaku as well as Neco-Arc, but no dice. Anyone got any information on this?

Judging from the quotes (and because Ever17 has the same sort of fanservice to it - my system sounds are currently set to Tsugumi :blah: ), they're voice sample replacements for your usual system sounds. Long story short, you can now have Neco Arc Chaos telling you that you have mail. :V

Ah I see, I kinda figured that what it was, though there is a folder called "replays" in there that doesn't have any sound files, somehow I think it's something seperate from the folder with the system sounds but who knows...

I agree. I did kinda think it was weird that the battle would end when only one of the characters on a team was KO'd. It's like the other character lost morale and decided to become a pacifist or something.

vista directx10 card crash fix?

oh for you "opening movie problem" people... just uninstall whatever codec pack you have, and install the newest klite3.30 codec pack. you dont have to install the player, just the video codecs and filters. BUT most importantly at the end of the installation, when it says "restore all codecs to default settings" make sure you do that! It should fix most of your video problems, if not all of them.

I am having a graphical error when playing.  It's nothing game breaking or whatever, but I'm just curious if anyone else is getting this or if there's anything I can do to fix it.  The...uh, for lack of a better word, hit marks (those slashy marks that show when you connect an attack) aren't showing up for me at all.  Anyone know what's up?

Also, is there any way to map a command to two buttons?  On the ps2 pad I use, I had shield both on Circle and R2, and am wondering if I can pull that off with MBAC pc.
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Devereaux August 07, 2007, 08:49:19 AM
Hmm, your running patch 1.02 right? Whats your general setup? It sounds like a driver problem to me, maybe with DirectX or your video card. As for mapping one attack to two different buttons, I don't think it's possible unless you modify the launcher in some way.

Is it just me, or when one character kills another in a team battle, does that character stop being able to move for the rest of the match?   Although, looking at it now, it's probably to prevent the remaining team from teaming up on the other character with no opposition

Ok I've had a very specific issue come up. Last Sunday when I was playing casuals, one of the matches for a replay save was corrupted, characters used were HisuKoha and Ciel. So the first round is fine but when the second round comes up, halfway through the round the replay starts screwing up and the characters were doing things that we didn't do when we played the match. And eventually the things that happened at the end of the second round originally occurred but HisuKoha still has half life remaining. At that point, the replay just stalls and the characters just stand there. We were using the latest patch and I've tested the replay files on 3 different systems and getting the same results. I get the feeling that this is the same problem that occurred back in MBR when one player chooses HisuKoha. I'd be able to check if it's really character specific but unfortunately we only got ONE replay that entire day. Just ask jux. It's a long story, but he knows why. x_x Has anyone else had this problem occur too?
: Re: MBAC Ver.B PC
: Escobar August 07, 2007, 03:27:27 PM
I'm not sure if it's just odd because it's MBAC, but I can't even COUNT the number of times I have had that happen to me on MBR. The match seems to play back differently and usually it ends with both of them just standing there forever XD. I have no clue what the cause is, but it would happen to me a lot regardless of the character...I don't believe I've run into that problem in MBAC yet though.

I did something similar in the ps2 version.  You can probably get that effect with joy2key(just bind your circle and r2 to whatever key on the keyboard is shield).  I don't see that being allowed in tournaments though.  Any tournament I run you can set up your controller any way the game lets you, and that isn't in the game so its out.
