MeltyDB - A place to look for MBAACC VODs
« on: January 19, 2013, 02:23:58 PM »
Hello.
I think a lot of us have had issues with finding VODs for our favorite characters or specific matchups, I know I, myself, was very frustrated when I wanted to look up F-Kohaku videos and couldn't immediately find any because I am not one for Japanese.

So myself and some asshole named grungrah "the incredibly handsome and intelligent grungrah"
set out to create a little website that you could find those videos without having to sit through hours of other videos to find that one character you were looking for, not that watching extra melty is a bad thing.
After a couple of weeks, we've covered the clearlamp channel and you can find the database at

www.meltydb.com

The database currently only holds clearlamp MBAACC 1.07 videos, we'll be working on adding videos from other sources like MeltyBread, a-cho, and kiritsugu in the future.
We hope you enjoy the database and have fun watching some Melty Blood.

shoutouts to Omicron Austin for helping us with a few videos.

Nice. I actually wanted to do something like this back in the MBAC days but people weren't interested enough. Now checking out those F-Ryougi vids :3

Yeah sorry no one in Clearlamp likes the C-Len.
We're working on the MeltyBread VODs now so we can increase our player database before we tackle a-cho and possible niconico videos.
Once we get some of those MeltyBread VODs in you'll see a good amount of C-Len I'm sure.

I'm going to see if we can just throw this up on the front page or something of that sort so they can just access it straight from there.

With full credit to you guys of course.

Neato. We're happy that people can get a good use out of the site.
We've recently (just now) added some win rate statistics from the clearlamp matches. While the numbers aren't 100% yet, it's probably at least entertaining to read through.

This is good.
zar are you even aware that your attitude is what drove people off in the first place. i think zar's attitude is worse than all of that. cause neither of you guys mean anything. but zar can poison shit around him. zar's the one that gets personal online and does realtalk that's out of line.

If you wanted F-Kohaku videos you should be watching Waka (especially his current code/1.05 videos when he played F-Koha more).  A lot of the stuff still works and is still very applicable to v1.07.  I didn't notice any on your database, even though he is pretty much the authority on the character in Japan.

In the next month or two I'll be making a set of tutorial videos for the character, so look forward to it~

You guys did a fantastic job on this.  Pretty awesome you got a news post on SRK too.  I'm busy with moving back in to school and the first week of classes is always hectic, but I'll be sure to help out in a bit with some videos.

We wanted to start with ver1.07 to see where it went. We'll probably be adding 1.05 stuff after we finish the 1.07 stuff.
I'll look forward to your tutorial videos, F-Kohaku is one of my favourite characters to play, playing her well would be a good bonus.

Also fixed WArc being missing from the character dist as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry to double post or spam my own thread or whatever but we've finished adding the MeltyBread VODs to the site.

In doing so we've added some new character VODs that weren't there before like C-Len and H-Hisui and even C-NAC.

Please enjoy.

We'll be starting on the GAMEacho and the zero3japan channels next. Unfortunately GAMEacho and zero3japan are not as kind as clearlamp / meltybread and do not provide us with any help for player names so we've decided that we're only doing characters and moons for these channels. I'd like to apologize to anyone who gets a use out of that information.

Lastly, we've added some more helping hands so I'm pretty excited in general.

Alright I've made some changes in how the matchup-specfic searching works so it should be a little more accurate now.
Now if you search you'll find two instances of Aoko vs. Aoko.
I feel like there should be more than that so I'll take a look and see if anything else is wrong as well.
Thanks for the feedback.

Not currently. The main reason we dedicated ourselves to the DB was because we like Melty a lot. I think all of us who work on the DB are a little mixed on UNIB. Maybe once the PS3 version or PC version comes out we'll play it and pick it up bit by bit. Who knows though.

GAMEa-cho and zero3japan have been completed and added to the DB. They are live on the site now.
We hope you enjoy the NUMEROUS VODs of luckystar (solty) playing Nero and rakuchan playing H-Len, because I'm pretty sure they're half of the videos.
Maybe I'll try doing some stats for all the channels put together, depending on how messy they get I might just opt to skip that.
Either way please enjoy the VODs.

Shoutouts to Advent ClashMech and HateParade for contributing to the transcribing some of the VODs and a big thanks to grungrah who's been transcribing videos with me since day1.

Any plans for this but for UNIB later? That'd be cool.
You know what? On second thought, if you want to do something like that I'd glady back you on it. The biggest problem when doing a project like this is that you can't insert a video into some magical machine and let it tell you the times and when what happens. So I mean if you're willing to put in the time to transcribe UNIB vids from a-cho or wherever, I can create a database and get a sister site running for it. PM me if you're interested.
This offer is also open to anyone else that would like to do something similar for UNIB or a different game.
