Need help choosing a character

(1/2) > >>

Invanex:
Hello. I have been a Melty Blood fan ever since the first version came out on the PC, but I haven't really been playing with a "passion". I now decided to spend time playing Melty Blood and practice so I can play against others in both casual and tournaments, but I have a problem! I have no idea on which character to choose. Right now I am deciding amongst: Aoko, Tohno Shiki, Nanaya Shiki, Red Arcueid, Arcueid, and Akiha. I like all of the character's style and gameplay, but I have no idea how to choose the right one. Narrowing it down to two characters would be nice, so I can use two different ones. Any kind of help will be appreciated!

Choco:
From the "already used" standpoint...

Aoko is played a lot, but often not very well.
Tohno Shiki isn't very popular in the US.
Nanaya Shiki is too popular in the US.
Red Arcueid has a few good players in the US.
Normal Arcueid isn't very popular in the US.
I haven't seen a good normal Akiha player EVAR. Very underplayed, highest def, etc.

Who to pick?  :mystery:

Zantua:
i say try out all the characters and pick the one you feel the most comfortable with.
try playing someone no one else plays or try and pick low tier and dominate with them.
if you decide it down to 2-3 characters flip a coin or just practice with each one and try and pick among the 3.

Zaido:
why not lets pick one in a much lesss vacinity Standard? like lets say within cali XD....

and by character used:
Aoko 1
TohnoShiki 0
Nanaya 1 or 2
Red Arc 0
Arc 1-maybe
Akiha 1 or 2

now choose your pick :o

Hintalove:
Well, of the characters you listed, Shiki Tohno and Warc are arguably the best. Shiki is a great starter character because you can play him in your sleep, and warc has fairly awesome damage potential from any where, plus zoning with her blood rings AND a good reversal. Character strength aside, i think the coolest characters you mentioned are arc and warc, but Arc has mad execution requirements on her BNBs, and is just overall, a lot harder to play than warc. Regular Akiha is also good, but I wouldn't really pick her over the other two, she just happens to be the character I decided to play seriously when I started, and I don't really feel like learning Arc's loops :P
