A couple of minutes in practice mode and reading guides for certain characters?

Me, myself can't understand those guides...maybe if people can help me understand this terminology page a little better I could do those combos easier...maybe add more words to it that they forgot like blockstring. (eh?)  :slowpoke:

I don't mean any disrespect, but I'd have guessed that anyone with half a brain would understand what a blockstring is by merely glancing at the name -- a string of attacks you pull off while the opposition is blocking, to keep them in a disadvantageous position or otherwise exploit character features...

When I first saw it I thought it was a string you did out of a reversal when you're blocking.

I play on keyboard. And I don't recommend playing via pad or stick.

The device is not the matter, the player is.

Oh man, I'm missing half a brain then - I had to ask for the definition over at the Game Mechanics board months ago.

I would recommend playing on stick because it allows you to go play in tournies or on the same compy against friends, plus its really not that different from keyboard, or at least I transitioned easily from keyboard to stick in about 15 minutes, I can't learn pad at all though :(   ,otherwise keyboard isn't as bad as many ppl think it is.

If I'm going for stick, I have to cross hands, since I'm used to right hand direction inputs and left hand action inputs. On top of that, I'll get a cramp by both crosshanding and stick using. Then I would rather turn the stick 180° and play vice-versa. But frankly, I don't give a damn. Keyboard is fine because I never go to a tournament, there are no Arcades in Germany and traveling is a no, reason of business.

He can get a keyboard to work in an arcade machine?

And anyways if you really wanted to try it's not impossible to make perfect AIs, but they'd break down the game to the point where there actually are perfectly defined tiers and matchups. Basically, if there was a perfect AI, there would be no purpose for overheads and the like since they would always be blocked correctly, tick throws would always be jumped out of, etc. It would then just be a matter of whichever character has a perfect trap will always win, and any matches that don't involve perfect traps will be entirely decided by who can deal more chip damage in the time limit.

A perfect AI would be with implemented mistakes. We're not talking about Ninja Gaiden II here.
