I ran the mbaacctool.exe from the link you provided and it prompted an error - "Could not find key config table."
Strange, are you by some chance using an EXE that might have been patched to change the keyboard button layout?

You could try if it works with mbaacctool-rev11, which doesn't scan the memory and just works with fixed memory addresses.

Nah, I'm using the default keyboard bindings.  I decided to use a controller and it works flawlessly in windows.  However, I am unable to get MBCC working in linux via wine.  I have the latest drivers for my integrated graphics (intel GM45), but I can only get as far as the main menu without it freezing on me.  Also the title screen is pure black.  Perhaps I should make a thread in the tech support section?

Peculiar. Could you send me a private message with the MD5 of your MBAA.exe? Did you try the rev11 version instead of generic?

Do you have an up to date wine version? I'm using 1.3.32, and I've heard from somebody using an older version (1.0.1) that it didn't work for him. Also, Intel cards can be a bit troublesome with programs that use more recent techniques, although that usually manifests as bad performance. The problem mbaacctool fixes shouldn't occur until after the main menu (I got crash e.g. when entering the netplay menu) with untranslated inis.

Perhaps I should make a thread in the tech support section?
Might be appropriate.

i quietly updated my tool the other night, with an option to set cpu affinity in there, since that seems to be all the rage right now. just set cpuID to 1 or something to activate

Automating is nice, thanks. Although setting it to 1 core was one of the first things I did :V

Because I doubt that French Bread has the ability to program multicore processes.

Hello guys,

New on this board. I just have a question with regards to the Carnival Phantasm 3 BR bundle: Is MBAACC packaged just like Act Cadenza B, as in a disc in a tall DVD case shrinkwrapped and included with the Blu Ray cases in a box or is it stored in the blu ray discs along with the anime?

I'd like to buy the bundle but can't find a place to buy it. :-( I hope "Current Code" does get a stand alone release ala Act Cadenza B.

Thanks in advance!

It's on an extra DVD.

However, don't just go and buy CP3 BluRay on cdjapan or somewhere else, because you need to buy the Limited Edition specifically. There's also a regular edition without MBAACC. So watch it.

This one has it.

well, one anon a guy called akihafag wrote a trainer that unlocks the 3 hidden stages, as well as adds g-akiha and dust of osiris to the select screen.

doesn't change ryogi's stage music back to what it should be though, maybe in some future version.

http://www.mediafire.com/?g3xwplyan19okku

edit: updated. new version fixes the g-akiha crashes for some people and restores ryogi's original theme music on her stage.

next one will supposedly unlock boss type characters as well (eclipse mode characters) if the guy can fix the problem with g-akiha crashes, probably related to the eclipse mode.

Awesome! It even works online when both people enable it.

Anybody else having issues with replays? All the replays I save showed up as Sion vs Sion and the stage is all black with intro music playing.

Well they don't work for me. Saving them results in them not appearing in the replay menu.

They appear for me, just cant see the actual match.

Edit: This is what my replays look like, despite who is playing.

against my better judgment i got annoyed and hunted down the delay calculation code last night

as expected, it's calculating incorrectly and increasing delay at increments of 14ms... if that value is ms anyway... which it isn't, i'm not sure what it is, but it's similar. i put a test version of my tool that tweaks it out last night but it seems my values were incorrect so i'll take another look

worse was when i found the recv function... is this game really using tcp? holy shit, that is unfixable.

also i have a massive headache today and am not even going to look at this crap

It only uses tcp at the start of the connection and exchanges 2 * 8 bytes every second for whatever reason (the same data every time so probably a check to see if both sides are still there). The netplay uses udp packets with an order number every frame.

I figured this out with a packet capture on the demo, doubt they changed it.

that's better i guess but there still seems to be severe problems with packet loss

http://mauve.sandwich.net/misc/mbaacctool-v11-delaytest.zip

testing tool version that reduces delay, launches mbaa.exe etc

the delay algorithm is fucking retarded, it takes average_ping*13/20 and then checks by multiples of 14 to see if it should use that delay or not. which has too many overall functions to it really and doesn't produce good results.

translating this game seems to be pretty easy so far. the files don't even need to be repacked, the game can read them outside of the .p files too as long as the folder/file structure's left intact and the corresponding .p file absent. it can also read pngs in place of the dds textures without trouble.

now if only i could translate. lol

This game's netplay is fucking retarded. Can't even play a game because it's impossibly laggy all the time.
