Noob questions
« on: November 11, 2008, 07:46:13 PM »
Hi, I'm new to 2-D fighters. Hell, I'm beyond that. I'm just researching and learning about them right now and stuff. Get ready for the noob questions:

What has a larger fanbase: Guilty Gear or Melty Blood?

How big are GG tourneys? MB tourneys?

Because I'm currently playing a game with a.... decent community with an uncertain future.

So, naturally, I'd rather go to the stronger game.

Err... Guilty Gear has a much bigger community but MB is growing strong. :slowpoke:

By the way, Are Melty Blood and Melty Bread different games?

GG may have a 'larger' community, but MB has the advantage of netplay though.

I'd say also that MB has a bit more momentum than GG right now as a new game just came out... whereas for GG, the series has kind of stalled a bit with Accent Core with no sequel in sight. Though developers has said that there will still be a GG 2D fighter in the future, but no one knows when.

I think both here and japan there is quite a bit of overlap between the two communities. Both games share similiar aspects, which makes MB easier to pick up for GG fans than say SF3 and vice versa.

Just pick which ever game you enjoy more but theres no reason you can't play both.
Nyan nyan, nyan nyan, nihao nyan! Gorgeous, delicious deculture!

I believe the future in GG is in BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. Arc system works makes no secret that its like a GG clone. Heck the main characters resemble Sol and Ky.
