I think a lot of the reason why Nero gets so much hate is because he works so well at intimidating a person, and a good Nero player will take advantage of that. That and he got considerably buffed in AA.
Just don't get intimidated by his j.c. It's huge, but it's also entirely part of his hitbox. People with high priority air normals can dominate nero's j.c all day. This goes for most of his normals in general.

Besides the fact that he's the most fun character to play to mess with scrubs.
He's also one of the more difficult characters to play against when a person first starts out.
That mentality stays with people.
Personally, I find Nero one of the more fun matchups.

Because losing is annoying? He doesn't bother me so much anymore because I can man handle him. People tend to hate on matchups that give them trouble. He can be difficult to handle when he gets going, and you sorta feel drowned in all of his nonsense. You need to take extra caution playing against him as opposed to a lot of characters because of his tools and his ability to punish mistakes. Also it doesn't help that the Nero I play against the most can be such a dick about winning.

Bad people hate nero in general and think they're losing to j.c. Slightly less bad people hate the deer. Decent people get annoyed that they can't run their usual stuff but they adapt. Good players like nero because he's tall and fat and gets hit by everything. Ciel players love nero and wish everyone would pick him.

Q: Compare American and Japanese play styles, any impressions on the two?
A: Looking at American players compared to Japan, I noticed that Americans play really "politely." They don't really reversal and etc too much so in that respect, it was easier to fight them.

I was really irritated with Nero while I was still learning the game. Eventually I learned to work around him and I don't see him as that big of a threat compared to some other characters (*Cough F-Miyako*).

j.c is annoying in combos.. its annoying being comboed by the same atk all day.. I dont even try reduce damage or I'll get my hands hurt.. and deers are ok, they dont make his game annoying.. now.. mantis arms are annoying >.<
