Can't connect to my friend...

Alright I don't know what the heck is wrong. I looked up my firewall, allowed the mscaster to not be blocked. I even turned off my firewall. But it still does the same problem. I got the latest patch, the latest netplay. But it still wont work. I place his port in, and his IP, but after I do that it says this.

I tried everything I could but I'm at a loss. He has the latest patch and netplay as well. But I still don't know whats up ._.

Yes we both live in USA. I live in New Jersey, and he lives in PA. I even tried to do the relay, and it wouldn't work. I don't have a router. But he told me that he has one. Would he having a router mess up our chances?

It does, because you're not connecting yourself to his computer, but to his router. Try using Hamachi to make a virtual network and connect yourself to his IP in the said network. Remember you must both be on that network for it to work.

Or he could use the relay, which is on a sticky in this very forum category, and results in fewer networking issues than Hamachi does.

Oh I give up, sane networking is a lost battle here.

There actually is a JP lobby system/front end to Caster in existence. Don't have the link to it off-hand, though.
