Hosting problem solving

(1/1)

Pikachu_Fragger:
Are there any ways to improve being able to host a Netplay match? I don't want to wait for someone to make a server or use the relay along with half the channel when I could host it myself, but always having people complain about timeouts from your end doesn't help. :slowpoke:

Animeruko:
there is Hamachi and that relay server thing ... but aslogna s you forwerd ports and turn off or open ports in your firewall there shoudlnt be any problems. assumign you arent torretning and other such things

Christen:
Let's see, these are the possible problems I can think of why someone wouldn't be able to host.

1. UDP Port 7500 is blocked by a firewall. Windows Firewall is unlikely if you run mbcaster for the first time since WinXP would prompt you to allow/disallow blocking the program. Check all your personal firewalls if UDP 7500 is allowed. As a final resort, you could try to add UDP 7500 to windows firewall.

2. If behind a router, port is not forwarded properly. Set your router to forward UDP 7500 to your computer. Check for your router's firewall as well.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I've managed to host at least two games now. :V
