Mauve's MBCaster

(1/4) > >>

Jen:
So, since I looked around and couldn't find anything talking about it, apparently Mauve's Caster is all the craze these days.

Anyone care to fill me in on how it is or is not different from Tropsy's Caster?  Besides the lovely feature of remembering your last menu choices.

Keith:
Well, basically, mauve is implementing features from Cowcaster, his own mod of IaMP's Caster. Those features happen to kick ass. The only big things that I know aren't implemented yet are player naming (so you can have replays with the players' names in them when using auto-save) and custom palettes (which I doubt he'll even work on since MBAC has so many palettes anyway).

You can find my MBCaster here.

The main important ones, though:
[*]Fixed the macro desyncs.
[*]Fixed spectating timing/playback speed.
[*]Fixed keyboard dinging after startup.
[*]Permanently unlocked Neko Arc Chaos.
[*]Automatic delay calculations more accurate.
[*]Automatic replay saving / renaming added.
[*]POV hats supported correctly.
[*]Hostname resolution on all menu items. (So you can standby to mizuumi.net instead of having to remember the IP, and use dyndns addresses.)
[*]Session statistics and logs.
[*]Random character selection should be less broken.
[*]Default window size can be set.
[/list]

I'm pretty much done with it short of finding some way to do something about the remaining desyncs though, and that's a low priority item for me at the moment.

You guys can do whatever you want with it as far as I am concerned.

Jen:
Ah, thanks for the info Mauve.
