@NinjaNero: Me and my friend are trying to use the relay for some netplay. We have tried ports 7500 and 51001 but both dont work for him. I'm working fine, but he's the one who cant connect. (I have netplayed many times already but i have no knowledge with port forwarding so i can't help him)

@KidPhantom: I'll get him to see this and make him try it out.

@Twinniss: His debug works, he also got the latest version of MBACverB and MBCaster. He's also running on XP

To get your private IP you can do either start->run->cmd->ipconfig. for windows 98 it's command instead of cmd.
or
right click on your network connection in the system tray or the network connections folder (if you don't have that easily accessible, there should be a link there from my network places), then click status and then the support tab. It's listed under IP address.

Tropsy, are you at liberty to reveal your compiler for the source code? Or is it confidential?

Internet
do you have a static or dynamic ip?
wireless or wired?
do you have windows XP or Vista?
on the system tray do you see limited or no connectivity or nothing. (would have pictures but am at school)(will have some at about 9:00 (EST))

I unno, I'm actually quite sure he needs to forward his ports properly is all. It's complicated to do, but once he's got it, everything should be fine.

Ummm...

If he had that in the bottom right tray, wouldn't he be unable to tell you?

Cause doesn't that mean his internet's dead?

You have first hand experience with this type of error? IIRC you wouldn't be able to properly access the internet with that type of error.

I have.  It expresses a range of stupidity from not being able to hit your DHCP to having an invalid IP.  If you're able to access the net while you have it, you're a damn miracle worker, but it's possible.

YOu don't need net play for two people you can go to team and set you as the same team and play the com. if you wanted to play with more than two people then netplay (or a 4 player patch) would be nessary.
But i agree one would be nice.

Tropsy has already stated that team mode is not of interest for him to code.  Tag battle has been considered, but I don't believe that code will be forthcoming very soon.

We have no information on who, what or what isotope this Waryas is.  Their only note of existence is a line that often winds up nearly deleted on Wikipedia.

Can please someone help me with that :/? I read through the whole thread
but didn't find any solution. Well, i have opened ports , everything works,
but my friend can't connect. Her mbacPC.exe opens normally, and the game works fine,
it doesn't open in debug-9-mode with mbcaster, though. Any idea, why that happens?
We already seemed to connect through relay, but while the game opened on my side it didn't on hers. It seems to load something but closes down immediately.
Thanks in advance

Well, i know this is extremely late but unless i missed something no one else gave an answer that fixed the problem.  I had the same problem when i was trying to use a pad with the input for config_caster set to 255. if thats your problem open config_caster and change the value to 0. Do the opposite if your trying to use keyboard and the value is set to 0.

Also, do you have MBAC v 1.03a and when you open mbacpc.exe to the little menu where you can select full screen or small screen and set your pads up does it say 1.03a at the top. When i patched to 1.03a i had to manually copy and paste in a couple of the files and press yes when it asked if i wanted to overwrite them. i think they were from the file folder in MBAC Ver 1.03a patch.

Well, hopefully that is of some help. good luck.

My friend keeps getting the error
"make sure mbcaster is in the same folder as mbacpc.exe"

This is what his folder looks like. I don't see a problem.

EDIT: fixed, friend's anti-virus was being lame.

However, it is useful for customizing your key layout on netplay.
