IIRC there's some Vista variable in the config_caster.ini... try switching to "1" or on.. or whatever it is
Are you talking about inputdevice?
sorry I guess I was talking about an outdated version
So, do you have any idea?

To get MBCaster to work on Vista:

Start by going to your desktop shortcut of MB and MBCaster (or the actual .exe files, either or). Right click on the file, go to properties,  then go to the compatability tab. From there, click on the "Run this program in Compatability mode", then select Windows XP Service Pack 2. With this, its set up to run it via Windows XP. You may or may not also need to check the box at the bottom of the tab page for "Run as Administator". I have both of them clicked on, but I'm not too sure you really need them. Having Administator on, just means you hafta click "Allow" when the program is running.

By using the Compatability mode, you'll be able to use MBCaster on Vista without a problem. If you still are having problems, then make sure your patches are up to date, as I didn't do that and spent an extra 24-48 hours 'cause I forgot about it. There you have it. A wonderfully easy way to get MBCaster to work on Vista.

Greetings! Just recently downloaded, and properly installed the program. Everything that was in the .exe folder is in the root directory of my MBAC folder, double checked, triple checked, it can't be the problem. Everytime I start up, it gives me some line about version info and what not. but then below it..

Command Version: 144
Debug: Bind error

And just closes, instantly. I didn't hit 9 to debug, I don't get a chance to hit anything, happens within a second. Any idea on the problem? Using keyboard, set the inputDevice to 255, windows XP SP2, will tell ya anything else ya need to know.

Bind error means that the port is in use by another application.

  • You already have another Caster running.
  • You have another application chewing up port 7500.UDP somewhere.

These are the only two possibilities for this case, so either close stuff out or edit config_caster.ini and change myPort to another value.

What about ERROR: Timeout (Root) when trying to spectate a match? Is it because the match had been going on for like 700+ seconds so I'm unable to view it?

Some people's routers fail it and you can't connect. Has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself.

Additionally, when there's more than one spectator around, you're actually spectating through one of the other people watching, not the original hosts. So if they have router issues or are blocking stuff, then you're pretty much screwed.

One of the reasons I have Get Information report the remote address is so that you can try to spectate the _other_ guy playing, which gets around that.

It'd be nice if someday they implemented an online lobby or random match-up feature, but at the moment your best bet is either Hamachi groups or IRC.

If you need them, here are my settings regarding the controls, which I think are default...

I have a quick question. Is it possible just to use the address used for the game IaMP (mizuumi.net)? Since it is the same kind of client I wasn't sure if it would work. I have everything else working. I am just wondering if that would work because I honestly would remember that over the few IP I have going between houses.
Blank for reasons unknown.
